hello! I have a somewhat more 'negative' video for you today, i was planning to do the worst reads of 2023 however i didn't have 10 i actually disliked enough in 2023 to make a separate video on it so we're doing a unhaul! I do sporadic unhauls here and there but don't always talk about them, but today i thought we'd talk about why I didn't enjoy certain series and why they'll be leaving my shelves. Sorry if i talk about your favourite series these are just my own opinions and im really happy if you love these series! ❤️

I really like that you do unhaul videos, it's not something that a lot of manga-tubers do. I do see a lot of people just hoard the titles and it makes me a little upset when they don't really even touch the series and just keep them on the shelf

This was a nice change of pace! I've been meaning to go through my collection and unhaul some things. You've helped me find some motivation to get to it this weekend.
I find it very therapeutic and i always think how what i don't enjoy someone else will so it'll be going to a more loving home

I understand your point about My Dear Curse Casting Vampiress. I also was uncomfortable with that factor especially with the vampire girl Tsukuyomi in volume 2 (she was at the end of volume 1 too), but it didn't bother me enough to stop reading it. I'm personally enjoying it so far and am looking forward to the introduction of a character on the cover of volume 3 which I have preordered.
Candy Color Paradox is proving difficult for me to get into as well but I have up to volume 6 so I wanna keep trying to read it. If I still don't like it after that I'll probably unhaul it later on.
I was excited about What he who doesn't believe in fate says, because I like soulmate stories, but the story wasn't as good I was hoping for. I'm not in a hurry to read more and I might sell my copy too in the future. I pretty much felt the same as you for this story.
I've a soft spot for Snow Fairy but will agree it's not the most exciting BL.
Ahh I’m so glad you like those series though ❤ I think I’ve just become a lot pickier these days when I read and it takes a lot more for me to enjoy things sometimes 😂 also just fan service in general I just don’t like much
Ah, I love unhaul videos :) It's really satisfying to watch between all the haul videos on youtube.
I constantly have active listings of volumes I did not enjoy. It always feels good to send unwanted books away to people who might give them the love they deserve :) Or to someone who doesn't have the money to buy new manga. My best "sale" was to a highschooler who originally wanted to only pick up 1 of my mangas in person. She ended up with 20 volumes for 1€ each - will never forget her big smile.
I rate my manga with 1-10 points, everything under 6 needs to leave the apartment.
But recently, I've also been thinking to unhaul series that I like but will never re-read. For example A Silent Voice. It was a good read (7P), but it's a harsh topic and I don't think I want to go through that rollercoaster again ^^" Do you unhaul series like that as well?
Ahh thank you so much for enjoying! I have another unhaul video coming soon as well 🥰 I always try to clear my shelves of books I don’t like so that I can make room for more! I find that I don’t have infinite space so it’s not sustainable for me to keep everything, also knowing that it can go to a better home 🥰

And I give you a hard time, but I recently did an unhaul myself and made more space & it felt great! Feel like now. I have more room for more stuff that I really enjoy instead of stuff that I just found OK. Great video even though you got rid of a lot of my favorites more than just one this time lol. ❤😂❤

I enjoyed my read with vol 1 of What he who doesn't believe in fate says but I was so surprised on how small the volume was for the price. Will pick up more if they'll be on sale.

i had the same experience reading the Knight Captain manga. The art style looked really nice and i liked the SUPPOSED concept of a knight captain female lead (thought it would have modern Rose of Versailles vibe). and then i read it and it was so boring and not at all the vibe i expected, excatly as you said. glad i'm not the only one that got super disappointed byt that manga.

Nice unhaul! Snow Fairy looks cute but it falls into the type of BLs that plays way too safe IMO, we have sooooo many BLs coming out every month and if anyone wants to make a one shot, it better be REALLY interesting. I like Midnight Rain because I'm used to the author but I understand people that don't, the translation by Sublime was very bad too and didn't help.
I can’t keep up anymore!!! Tokyopop have been releasing sooo many these days and so many new ones to come too 😵💫 I definitely find oneshots have to be impactful for me to want to keep them in my collection
i used to own a lot of manga but i decided to buy only series i have read no more blind buying, but then i ended up with a bunch of naruto, one piece, rurouni etc. dont get me wrong i like those but i dont need to own them. So i decided to only buy series that i have read and i trully love so now i only have : gantz, battle royale, vagabond, parasyte.
Zatch bell, hikaru no go, bakuman, inuyashiki, monster, berserk, have anime everytime i want to revisit a scene its on youtube.
20th century boys, oyasumi pun pun i love but i dont want to revisit because they are sad.
So i became a digital reader, turns out some of my favourite series are either digital only, have no official english realese or are korean/chinese.
Digital reader final form : turns out there is a very dedicated scene of amatuer voice actors who voice manga/comics on youtube or other websites because of copystrikes and these men and women are dedicated. Because to make a 10 chapter 1 hour video takes them a month they wouldnt waste their time on some garbage, so 95% of the time i show up for the great reccomendations.
My fav so far is Dannymalt his read through of Sweet Tooth is better than the netflix series seriously, his jupiters legacy read through is also very good. He also gives behind insight on what was going on with the artists at the time
I think I’m trying to steer towards more getting manga if I like the series or if I’ve watched and enjoyed the anime! It’s quite hard though cos I get so easily into the hype and buying series people talk about and enjoy themselves 😂
