Love your videos bro! I recently broke a rod the same way and it was because I was whipping my cast too hard with the heavier baits, try lobbing the big baits or just side arm casting.
You may need to get a specific rod for swimbaits. They are stiffer and can handle the swimbait size. That medium/heavy rod may only go up to 1 oz bait, swimbaits could be at least 2 to 3 oz.
Most glide bait aren’t that good around most surface vegetation but what kind of vegetation is it. Is it the snotty stuff or like coontail or hydrilla ?
@@DinkMasterVA not any snotty stuff, a mix of coontail and hydrilla, I was thinking of a glidebait because there is still a foot or two between the surface of the water and the top of the seaweed.
@@babysardines101 okay that’s perfect I have a few options that will be good for staying higher in the water Column. Savage gear shine glide in any of the ghost colors since your in clear water, Baitsanity Antidote glides , And the storm Arashi glide all budget friendly and catch fish! The baitsanity doesn’t sink fast at all so I would get the slow sink and add stick on weights to make is sink a bit faster or don’t it’s up to you.
@LarryMeltonJr I've honestly just started to try it out just seems really heavy maybe I need to grab the smaller one and experiment with it some. I appreciate the response
Just bought a Cull Shad. White in color. Haven't used it yet. Been using Mike Bucca glide baits. This Cull Shad is really big. Not sure. How big a Bass must be to eat the Cull Shad.
The bull shad isn't a crankbait you can't whip it out there you got to Finesse your cast it looked like you was trying to cast a country mile but I definitely see your pb being caught on the bull shad and hopefully you'll get it on camera
Let's freaking goooo.... awesome video bro
Great video brother and awesome meeting you at the Classic. Keep doing you brother and making awesome content!!! hope to fish with you one day!!
Hey Larry is this available at any of the stores yet ?!
You should check out leviathan omega rods. Dive head first into swimbaits, they are super addicting.

Nice Video, I've never had much luck on those swimbaits up north though.
They can be tough for sure!

Hey brother, new subscriber here. Who makes that cold shad swimbait?
Tight lines,
~ Manny ~ 🤙🏼
What state are you fishing
What's a good swimbait or even glidebait that you recommend for super clear water with lots of seaweed?
Most glide bait aren’t that good around most surface vegetation but what kind of vegetation is it. Is it the snotty stuff or like coontail or hydrilla ?
Savage gear
@@blakeboyce1394 yeah I like the 3d shine glides there pretty nice

you should team up with a googan creator and do Berkeley vs googan
I wish I could go fishing
What’s the name of the knot you use for your lures; it seems wayyy faster then the knot I use?
Palomar Knot! I tie it for everything!
what kind of line is best for using those shad soft plastics?
I normally use heavy Fluoro 20-25lb and just check you line after a few catches because the baits are expensive to replace 😂
Larry I be goin to pounds an the fish be breaking everywhere somedays I get bite somedays it’s nothing what should I do
What yall recommend the 6 inch or the 8 only asking as this 8 seems awfully heavy hitting the water
@@timcaskey6013 I’ve used the 6 way more than the 8. Really just personal preference.
@LarryMeltonJr I've honestly just started to try it out just seems really heavy maybe I need to grab the smaller one and experiment with it some. I appreciate the response
@@timcaskey6013 For sure man! What setup are you throwing it on?
@LarryMeltonJr just a lews 6'6 medium spinning combo im in the process of transioning to a 7' medium heavy baitcaster
What pond is that?
Take a 🍸 🧉 everytime Larry says Cull Shad!😅
Impressive that you can get a kayak that heavy in shallow water.
It floats like a dream!

Which one did you get? I’ve only thrown the 6 havent built up enough courage to throw the 8 yet.
The 6 inch. I haven't finished yet. I pond fish. Thought the 8 inch. Would be to big.
I have yet to see the Cull Shad in Bass Pro or Academy 😣
It’s not out yet. Not sure on official release date but it’ll be later summer. June-July
New sub!
Thank you!

Hommie, I still think you should keep a paddle with you.
I hope everyone reading this catches their pb this April!
Shit me to
Much needed you as well
My pb was caught last April😅 8.5 lbs
Second!
Magdraft is better tbh. Just poke the hook into the body and it’s not going anywhere.
Pretty good considering they recalled that entire batch of cull shads.
