I subscribed, turned my son on to you, and we've been avid followers ever since. We have learned so much from you, and I'd like to thank you for all of the continuing knowledge.
[ This of course causes me to reevaluate my personal fishing. Forty years ago, I was throwing Manns Jellyworms/Culprit Curlytails), jig-n-pigs and dancing Rapalas on the top. Period!]
*B u t......there are days when you absolutely "kill'em" that it is so hard not to say "Frick You," jump in the lake, swim to shore, sit down and pull out my remaining hair! This is one of those days....
Reevaluate, reset, and continue to put one foot in front of the other. Never give up!! How about a video where you and Tim catch nothing but half pound dinks!!
    *Full disclosure, I did say "F r i ck Y o u" after watching today's video!

Man Matt, Bull Shoals has been just how your saying at that lake. Alot of beds that are empty or with little bucks on them. We did have alot more water though, and then the Corp of Engineers, in all their wisdom, started dumping water and the weather dropped off so it got funky in the shallows. Deeper water is producing for me with swimbaits and jerkbaits.

If you let that spinning rod dry-out, then use rubbing alcohol to clean the cork, any dirt and pond scum should come right-off the surface of the cork, and the cork will look as close to new, as possible. (The reel needs to be taken apart, dried, cleaned, re-lubricated, and then re-assembled, as you already know. [And I wouldn't doubt you need new drags, depending on what the drags are made of.] )

Ha! We vow to try it all and form honest opinions so we can compare everything accurately... I'm following through 👍🏼

Spot on about that little swimbait. Some of my best fish from last year came this exact time of year on 2.8 keitecks and other tiny crappie size swimbaits.
Congrats, that was one heck of a day!
I love that 8 inch Magslowl in clear or white back shad, but I fish super clear water.
Matt, do you think a Megabass Blackjack has too stout of a backbone for a 8 inch Magdraft? I had been using a Tequila Baccarac, but I like the casting distance I get out of that 7'11" rod.

Love watching these videos, great info. I don't use many swimsuits, how are you knowing how deep you are reeling in big baits? Can you just see how deep it is and reel accordingly?

Yes, it really is that easy. This particular bait sinks pretty moderately so it's fairly easy to guage.
