Robert Palmer is still one of my all time favorite singers to this day,he had a great voice, great style and is still one of the best dressed singers of all time 💯
Walked into a store last night and “simply Irresistible” was playing, now today I see this. Robert Palmer came to my studio back in October/November 1999 to rehearse for an upcoming tour. We was a very nice friendly man who had his younger son with him. He was respectful and dapper. His roadies were the best. Some hard time old style English blokes who saw some serious road battle. I was young and learned a lot from the old timers (who were only about 50 at the time). What a great bunch of men Robert had with him. Says a lot. I woudl have followed this guys anywhere. They turned me on to captain beefheart and gave me Tons of English Marlboros. RIP Mr. Palmer.
They were really a great bunch of guys. I was only mid 20s so those older guys were a blast hearing their stories. Robert was pure class, and rally only came for the rehearsal, then split. I didn’t see much of him, but I say upstairs and watched the rehearsals through the window. Great times. Thanks for the video
Thanks again for writing .. just did a little deeper digging into his beginning part of his career. A fascinating guy...just uploaded the vid...I think you'll enjoy it!
"Johnny and Mary" was an understated classic ballad. More catchy stuff would follow, and some light reggae with UB40, but first always makes the most impression.
There's a version of "Trick Bag" and "No, Not Much" that came as a bonus 7" with "Riptide" bw/ Back In My Arms. To the label's shame, the 12" had it readily available.
@@crossedoveryonder ,not manys favourite, but the way he pulled it off was something else.Heard it at Varsity for the first time round about 85/86 and still to this day, think his version is so funky.
Robert Palmer was the ultimate lead singer!! Looked good in a suit, and was as cool as they come. He was one of the very best!!
thanks for the comment....he was a one of kind for sure!
Mercy Mercy Me/ I Want You is my favorite Robert Palmer song. His delivery is amazing.

Doctor doctor give me the news - I've got a bad case of loving you.
Doctor: “Mr. Palmer, please this is serious, you must cut down on smoking and begin exercising.”
One of my favourite tracks "it takes every kind of people " written by Andy Frazer RIP former bass player for FREE
Bang A Gong, every kind of people, everything!!!
He was in a band with Elkie Brooks called Vinegar Joe before he was a solo artist

You overwealm me. What a track!
Double Fun,excellent stuff.
Left out his time as a co-led singer in Vinegar Joe with Elkie Brooks.
Just put up a new video exploring Rober Palmers early days. :)
Addicted to love, the lights are on, but youre not home. Your MIND is not your own... iykyk❤ love conquers all
Robert Palmer was a very talented and handsome man who had a lot of class.
Bad Case of Loving You
Simply irresistible
A great singer with a lot of great hits in the 1980s, his "Addicted to Love" song IMO was his signature hit, he died before his time.
The Alan Bown made an incredible debut album in 1968, before Robert joined the band
left us 3 albums with Elkie Brooks and Vinegar Joe.
Great stuff and just finished a video showcasing the early days 👍
Still in your heart.
For your info it's pronounced Scarburra - great video.
Thanks for the info! Appreciate the comment!

Power Station was pretty damn good
They rocked!!
I didn't mean to turn this on,,,
Still miss him
Robert did what he wanted to do nothing tragic about that he lived life in the fast lane
Wasn’t he in Vinegar Joe as well?
Yes ...working on another video specifically about his time with that band..thanks for the comment!
Videos up now! 😎
You are in my system..
Every Kinda People
Love Robert Palmer. Still miss him to this day, but smoking 3 packs a day is not to be considered "in good health."
If he was awake seventeen hours per day (1,020 minutes), he had to smoke a cigarette every 17 minutes to smoke 60 per day.
If i remember correctly, he had passed a physical from his doctor the day before he died.
Let's just forget Vinegar Joe then?
Love the song "Woke up Laughing ".
the best...
Thats way too many cigarettes.
wayyyyyy to many :(
I saw him get booed off stage opening for Heart in Philadelphia
Why?
He got booed? Was it something he said...please let us know what happened..
Hey hey Julia. The best Robert Palmer song ever! Check it out!
Looking for clues
No mention of Emerson, Lake and Palmer.......did I just imagine that part of my life?Well it was the 70's, I probably lost those "memory engrams". lol
you had me for a minute there....lol...ELP rocked!! Carl Palmer is the only one alive...I'll have to do a story on the other two!!
A good reason to quit cigarettes.
Looking For Clues
2 minutes to say he smoked himself to a heart attack at 54.
RIP 😔😐😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’m sure cocain had no cause I bet!!
RIP
Regardless of the cause of death your music played a good part in my life before I turned 21
60 cigarettes each day..!!!
My dad died of lung cancer and was on the same path. That's a lot of cigarettes!
Searching for clues.
Good health? On 60 a day?? Cigs killed my heroes - Hunt, Sheene, Palmer.
Patrick Swayze.... Michael Langdon ....
EVH
Wasn't that the day of the apocalypse in The Last Of Us?
I’ll be your baby tonight 👌🏻
I like everything he did. But 1978's Every kind of people is a really nice song.
Suicide by nicotine. Bet he couldn't get it up either.
didnt mean to turn you on.
Great song 👍

Way to drag a dead man through the mud.
