Omnidirectional is nice of you wanna mic up a complete band (Jazz or Blues or something) with only one mic. I've done that a couple of times, works pretty nice.
Hey dude thanks so much for the info! Your channel made me want to buy my first mic and interface ever. What do you recommend Behringer C-1 or the Behringer C-3? I am a rookie so just for laying rap vocals and mix it in Audacity. Need a crisp low budget mic. Thanks!
I just dont get it? Today I did a direct comparison into my daw of this and the Nt-1 and the C3 beat it hands down. Ive read a lot of the comments and sat here scratching my head. I also have a 2020 which Ive yet to compare but for now I think the C-3 is a great mic and Ive done some voiceover tests with it which I'm more than happy with. It's an amazing mic for the money. Im no fan of Behringer stuff to be sure but here is an exception. Oh, and for the rocket-scientists in the comments, condensers are designed to run at 48v NOT 15v.
Compared to the AKG P120 which is slightly more expensive I much preferred the C3 for vocals. I guess it also depends on the voice. My voice is pretty bass heavy so I think I prefer the lack of that frequency on the C3. It sounds brighter to me.
Thanks for the great review. I’ve been looking at the C-3 off and on to mic a crowd for a convention panel. I’m not sure this is the way to go. Perhaps a pair of small diameter condensers pointed at the crowd? I’d worry about feedback though especially in rooms with integrated speakers. Would the C-3 work for that application? Do you have a better suggestion to try?
My reason for buying this would mainly be for the omnidirectional setting. To record some amateur band demos in decent quality. Atleast better than a phone recording
At $70 just save your money for the AT2020 ($100 US) or get one of the MXL condenser mics Bandrew has reviewed (usually $80~ US). This thing is the XLR equivalent of a Blue Yeti. You're paying for features you don't use and your overall quality is significantly worse than a single polar pattern cardoid mic at this price point. I do think this sounds a bit better than the Blue Yeti though. I think it's brighter but it doesn't seem to have the same issues I've seen in the Blue Yetis (they're often slightly muffled and boxy sounding, and have a slight hum). If you must have a multipattern mic (which I don't think you ever really want) then get this (since you'd already have an interface you could buy some of Sennheiser's cheaper headphones). You'll still be getting more than you would with a Blue Yeti @$140. But you'd get more with a single pattern cardoid condenser like the AT2020, MXL 770, 990, V series tube mics, or if you can afford it the Rode NT1A.
Marantz MP1000 is similar price and so much better. At least it is sensitive and has little self-noise. The C-3 is a gain and is too intrinsically noisy.
Love ur review bud. Just wanted to know one thing I have a scarlet 2i2 and I'm planning to buy a MacBook air 2017 but it has two usb3 ports so will the scarlet 2i2 work on that cuz as far as I know that usb3.0 are backwards compatible but I have read that some people are having stuttering while play backing the music. Plz help me out and love ur job mate
I have one and wish I liked it more than I do. My main beefs are sensitivity and noise. It is not particularly sensitive for a condenser mic, which makes it a weak choice for recording speech. It seems a bit better for louder singing and instruments, but even still it seems to have a lot of intrinsic noise, even when I run it through the lowest noise preamps I have. It really is better to spend about the same for the Marantz MP1000, or save up for an AT2020.
Hey! Great video. Thanks for all the information. Im about to buy mi first mic and I would like to know wich is best the C1 or the C3? I want to use it to record instruments like bass, electric guitar and voices (singing and talking/podcasting). Hope you can help me with this question. Thanks!

In the last year I got the cheaper and better C-1, which is more sensitive and quieter. It looks a lot like the C-3, of course, but the innards are obvious different. This review concludes that the C-3 tries to do several things and none of them great. The C-1 does one thing better. Save your money and go for the C-1. I was frankly surprised how much better it is.
The figure-8 frequency response curve as published is impressively flat, and the brief voice demo on figure-8 sounded notably better than the other two patterns.
Hi, nice review but I don’t know if it’s me or RUclips but all of these 🎤 sounds very unnatural. It’s a tube’s voice! No warm, it’s like ice voice !!! Still looking for something more ... warmer
It says it requires 48v I tried it with my 15v amp. It works and it lights up the mic. I can record. However should I get a full 48v phantom power box? Or should I stick with 15v? I’m afraid I’m not using the mics full potential
Would you be interested in making a review of Yamaha AG03 mixer? It looks like it has a lot of options for a decent price, would like to see what you think of it.
The recording settings were listed in the lower third starting around 3 seconds into the video and then there's a section where I outline specifically what the settings were (ruclips.net/video/VxZPczAa0Vw/видео.html). Because you couldn't watch the video let me write out the information for you. Behringer C3 into the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. Gain: ~60% or ~1:30. 5 years ago I think I was still using 16-bit 48khz. And in post I increased my level +6dB. No post processing was applied to this recording it is all raw.
This was my first microphone. It's decent if you don't mind the high self noise it produces. But honestly, don't buy this mic, is too noisy for voice-over or acoustic instruments, look for a better option like the Rode NT1.
Hey I recently bought two of these mics used, they are amazing BUT I need adapters to attach them to mic stands and can't find the right fit. Anyone know of a mic stand adapter for these microphones?!
Bro i buyed Scarlett 2i2 gen2 interface when i put my c3 behringer microphone by 2 o clock it makes a deep nasty noise ..can someone explain me that why bcause when i put my guitar inside it works very fine with the instrument?
I will buy this to my birthday with the behringer interface My dad will buy me a Gaming pc! And with all the money my friends gave i will buy the alesis v61 midi keyboard! OMG im so happy!Next weeeeek

1 Q cause I don't see it on internet (not from America): "If you have a behringer soundcard do I need a Behringer mic?" Cause I have a Devine BM1000 but the sound is not that good. Yes I put phantom power on
It sounds ok but having multiple "modes" means it will do them all ok but not as well as the standalone type mic, so for $70 it is meh but an OK meh. So when will we get a sticker review?? Maybe an April 1st thing, but if you do this give some love LOL
40hz is great for acoustic Guitar , 20 20 mics make you eq the crap out of them . Good for vocal too . I don't even know why you would want a 20 Hz mic unless your miking a sub woofer🤪
@@siphiwengcobo3284I use it mostly with muffled drums, when I cant play loud, tuning and dynamics are a bit more difficult when playing full out, and the kick always sounds the most natural.
I don't know why you keep reviewing the crappy offerings of Behringer Bandrew! Behringer has decent mics too. B-1 and B-2 are impressive podcasting and even music large diaphragm condensers on a budget.
That was more of a rhetorical question. I have participated in the pool before so I played my part.I'm just a bit sad that aspiring podcasters are missing on some good entry level mics. I really enjoy all the reviews Bandrew. You da best!

Omnidirectional is nice of you wanna mic up a complete band (Jazz or Blues or something) with only one mic. I've done that a couple of times, works pretty nice.

Your review was awesome, I want to record 2 acoustic string instruments playing the same time, I am hoping for the right choice

Right now this Mic costs in my country 40 dollars. For this price and knowing Behringer quality, I would buy it.
Which is higher in quality Behringer c3 or c1
C-1 or C-3 ?? Please suggest with reasons. :)
I'm having the same doubt here
Hi, C-1 or C-3 ?
Sergio Salazar, C-3
C3 is the same as c1 but with 3 polar patterns. You probably won't use them in regular use.
@@inset09 they are very useful

If this mic performs the same quality as the C1 in cardioid mode. This would be a great mic for me. Are they the same?

Juan Nuño yeah dude 150€
And the behringer c3 costs 38€
A much better mic at the same price point is the Marantz MP1000. The C-3 is like you say too noisy, and, worse, not terribly sensitive.
Hey should I go for the
Samson q2u or the audio technica at2005usb??
Pls HELP
What do u recommend for condenser microphones for vocal recording ?
At this price point, Samson C01 XLR condenser Mic is a good choice.
Try the Peavey Pro M1 or M2

What's the best between Behringer C1 and TBone SC-400? I must to put the mic in a Behringer UM2

Seems the omni mode gets very thin sound and less lo-mids. Can anyone confirm?
Is it better than C-1?
sounds better than NT-1A because of its bass or fuller sound?
This is way below the Rode NT-1A
Could you test the TIE Condensor mic usb some day?

How is this possible that youre mic has no background noise. I got the rode nt1a + Scarlett solo and background noise is quite there
Do you have any treatment in your room?

what about noise ?
This mic beats the Samson CO1, because it doesn't have the electronic noise. I bought my C3 for $65 new, at a computer store.
Yeah the only real reason I can see for this microphone is interviews.
It's like 38€ on Thomann rn, I gotta get this asap
