Skip the IS 500 and get RC F. I own an IS 500 its a great car but the flaws are many, first there's bumper sag, TSB does not fix and it breaks bumper further. The chassis is not stiff, RC F has better chassis dynamics and it handles better. Plus you can track it. Only downsides of RC F are - no TVD option (maybe better for longevity since its a very expensive part and heavy). no Driver memory for US market. Engine bracing removed from 2023 MY. Upsides - Far robust chassis vs IS 500, Trans and Oil cooler from factory, higher top speed, launch control, bigger brakes, Michelin PS4 out of factory, real leather interior vs nuluxe on IS, last F car on the planet. 2025 will be the last MY for 2UR GSE. RCF, LC500, IS 500 all will be killed in favor of newer models. GT3 RC F successor is coming with TTV8. No more NA V8.

Get it in 2025 would be my advice. Currently the IS 500 has bumper sag, I'm an owner of the IS 500 the car is superb but it cannot compete with RC F in any way due to chassis enhancements in the RC F vs none for IS 500, sure its as fast but the F line tuning is different. It drives like one, just has some room for improvement like the brakes being more aggressive. We think the IS500 was geared to be a builders car it has all the right components like the legendarily reliable 2UR-GSE V8 platform and a very robust sports mode that allows you to toggle on a few more degrees of rear rotation from the LSD, but more affordable for what you are getting. The RC F is more nimble feeling, but the IS500 does feel better stable at high speed and you can whip the rear end around pretty easily.

IMO the reason Lexus not making the IS500 the new ISF is because they knew the engine output is outdated compared to other competitors. IS500’s non-F deficiencies can easily be fixed by bolting on OEM F parts like brakes, trans cooler etc. and you can make the car pretty capable for cheaper than any of the F car. Not to mention out of the box the F isn’t as track capable as no camber adjustments, soft bushing etc. and you need to mod too. The IS chassis is good if not better. Car and Driver tested the IS500 only 2 sec slower than the RCF track edition with much narrower trash Bridgestones.
