Imagine if we lived in a world where people were responsible for cleaning up their messes near and in our waters.
An idea for repurposing those old bottle tops… level off the broken part, mount on something and set up as candle holders… vary the sizes and heights for interest!
That is a gravitating stopper bottle. Albert Albertson designed this closure that was patented Oct. 11, 1864 known as the Gravitating Stopper. It became very popular across the U.S. after Albertson sold the rights to John Matthews of New York. It a 2" long glass stopper with a rubber gasket on the end that automatically seated itself after the bottle was filled in an inverted position. It did not require a separate opener and the user could drink from the bottle when it was open because the closure sank to the bottom. It also had the advantage of being captive inside the bottle at all times the like the marble in a Codd bottle. Mathews sold it as a system with equipment that filled the bottle in the upside down position.

Just found your channel and I am happy that I did. I loved exploring and digging for stuff. There is a drainage ditch (I called it a creek) that ran behind my house. For years I would walk along it and find my treasures. Last year the area was rezoned and a new subdivision is being built. The woods and the "creek" have been destroyed. It hurt my heart to hear the birds scream when the big dozers came in and started knocking down the beautiful trees. I felt like a wuss when I went inside to cry because there was nothing I could do and I couldn't take the sound of the birds crying. Anyway, thanks for inspiring me to go back out to explore for others trash to call my treasures. P. S. A silver lining, I have chickens and I have been throwing extra feed because those wild birds now make homes in my trees.
This is so, so sad! For the birds, wild life and the people like you who enjoy being in special places like that.

Ahhh Kyle, you are so lucky to live in an area with so many amazing treasures. You can save even the broken embossed flat rectangle bottles, cut out the label side and use to make all kinds of interesting stuff! You really inspire me, I can't wait to see what you find next...
In England we have a cod bottle similar to the marble bottle. Kids used to break them to get the marble out to play with.
I needed a good laugh today! Terrifying little doll! I found an old dump in my yard near Penn State. Found a Chamberlain's Pain Balm (stopper and medicine inside), a blue poison bottle (poison and stopper inside), and a State College Creamery milk bottle (precursor to the Penn State Creamery). Too cool!

I believe the long glass thing you found is one piece of a crystal chandelier. The crystal would have had a metal binder with a short wire that attaches so it can hang from the fixture.

WHAT A SCORE on the Thomasville amber bottle! It's epic it was in perfect condition! Your begging worked! Sometimes even a squirrel gets a nut! Yeah, no touchy the nope ropes in the water, ew. Is that some kind of wine stopper maybe?? It was a stopper, HOW COOL! A gravitational stopper, hmmmm, interesting. I honestly thought those Hutch bottles were brown in color, I had NO CLUE they were see through! I need to see MORE of your amazing finds cleaned up PLEASE!

21:29 this is reminiscent of a Ramune bottle! Which is a Japanese soda brand. They have a glass marble inside to stop the flow if it’s turned too far upside down. That bottle is amazing.

You should get into bottle cutting when the top is broken it could still make an awesome drinking glass or vase so are so beautiful that the top is broken on
That gravitational bottle, the rubber piece went on one end of the glass stopper and I bet there was a syringe, maybe glass, that went to the end of the bottle. Like a big dropper!
Mason jar inserts are in some demand. Once you started finding marbles, i knew a creepy doll would pop up....could hold a lot of marbles. Neat chandelier prism, true relics (record player), spiderman doing his plastic man impression. More than usual I think: tetanus shot. That parfay bott might make a good mug. Great finds, love the creek hunts...

Andy and I have been cleaning the streets around our new 93 year old house in West Scranton Pa and he found a bottle with 2 four inch dolls in it. They are creepy identical twin dolls.

Hey man great videos, I know you and paleochris love sharks teath, there is a place on a large hill, just south of Montgomery Al. There are strange looking sharks teeth all over. Used to pick them up when I was a kid. I've never seen sharks teeth like them anywhere else and there a lot still in the matrix rock. All on a hill with evergreen trees. Off 331 just past sellers Alabama.

Those were some great finds man. You mentioned milk bottles, I actually just found my first milk bottle , it was just inside a culvert that spills into a creek near my daughters dentist office. I couldn't believe when I saw it just sitting there, it was a half pint and embossed from Raleigh, N.C.

I'm pretty sure the canning jar tops are milk glass, not porcelain.
Kyle, I think the bottle at 24:42 had marble #4 and possibly #5 by it to the top left. Looked like a small blue marble and possibly a greenish shooter??

I was under the impression that the isolated stylid meant that it was a bison tooth instead of cow. The snake was an oak snake.
the marble in the bottle would be a stopper to the bottle. like codd bottles. look up Hyram Codd from the UK and it is the story of how the codd bottle was invented.
