That object you called a "bird point" is actually a full-size arrow point. Anything larger than 3cm in length (total, usually smaller) is too big for a typical Native arrow. Larger points are generally dart points, from atlatl type darts. A little free advice from your friendly neighborhood archaeology prof.

my dad and i used to go bottle digging on a riverbank that used to be the location of the town dump. my dad told me that when they wanted to make room theyd try to crush down the trash, then burn/melt the entire top layer. between the melted layers was the chance of finding whole pieces, but also just a lot of broken stuff.
this video felt really reminded me of that place, with the abundance of clay pipes and broken bottle tops lol. that was in new hampshire, not sure if thats how it was in other places. also know this video is a bit old but figured id throw that info out just in case

Depending on where this is, it might be in the area of the ‘Great Thumb fire of 1881’ or even the ‘1871 Thumb Fire’. A LOT of acreage burned in both fires, but the 1881 fire was the most devastating in terms of how long it lasted, how much acreage was burned, cost of damages, lives lost, and how much aid was rendered.
