I am so glad you posted this video! I have three french doors I have put off painting for over a year because I dreaded the thought of painting around all the panes. I never heard of liquid masking until this video. Thank you for sharing!
The only thing I can add to all the positive comments is that I appreciate your honesty. I love everything about your channel and always learn something new!
I am INSPIRED BY both types of content! EXCELLENT material! I live in rural South Australia on a grain and sheep farm... and there is not much cash or time to fix up our house..... but I have made it a HOME and made changes YOU'VE help me to be inspired! Inspired to inspire others. It matters. What we do WHEREVER we are matters.... ETERNALLY. God bless you Sarah, your "sister" living Down Under 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Thank you for that great tip! I have 6 French Doors so will really be helpful! I love seeing your DIYS or Thrift decor/how you style them. I have a large mahogany buffet I want to paint but am afraid to start! Tips please? Have a wonderful Father's Day weekend!
I like the DIYs WITH the demo of the technique that you’re talking about. My LEAST favorite is when you quickly talk through a technique without video of the actual process. I love how your door turned out!!!
It looks beautiful! Omg! I didn’t know that glass thing even existed🤗. I will definitely paint my French doors. Your house and your channel are Awesome!!
I loved seeing the tutorial using milk paint, I’ve always been interested in it. Your door and hardware look amazing. I just love your color and how it looks all vintage.
Thank you so much!! Love the ideas for the living room. That blue color is amazing! Never would have noticed the door. Going out for the masking liquid H20 I like the way it looks when it dries too. Looks like old glass. I will remove it though. What a blessing you are!
Wow, that masking liquid is a lifesaver! I hope I can find it here in Paris next time I go to paint all my French doors. I can’t tell you how much time I’ve spent tangled in tape 🙄. Thanks so much for turning us onto this product.
Wonderful new and helpful DIY video. You do both DIY ones and home interior design and thrift idea ones equally well. You really do merit having over 100000 subscribers.
Great Job Sarah!! Love it!! So pretty, love the color! Thanks for the window pane product, never heard of it before. What a great time saver. Honestly I can’t choose between diy or design.. I feel like they often go hand in hand. TFS! 🙂
I know exactly what you mean about chiseling out hinge spaces to line up on replacement doors. We've done several in our home, including a French door.
Beautiful! Interestingly, I have done just the opposite… I use Annie Sloan paint and miss mustard seed wax (love her wax!). Although I have used MMSeed paint also, I was just a bit unsure about the texture of the milk paint. That said, I very much like the colors of MMSeed paints and the cupboard is really pretty; one of my favorite pieces. Love the DIY videos. Thank you.
Would that product work better if the door was laying down when you applied it to the glass? I just wonder if it ran down and was thinner at the top of each pane compared to the bottom. Thanks for the excellent video. I love the door knob idea and plate
Love your videos and ideas! I’m wondering if you know if these products would work on metal /aluminum (or whatever it is that some doors are made of that aren’t wood). I’d really love to just replace the metal french patio doors as well as all of the windows in our Ranch home with wood, but that would not be in my budget at this time. I have been looking for a way to possibly paint the ugly, ( inexpensive), old, silvery metal window square pieces around the glass panes on the windows through out the house for as long as I can remember. I have heard other people suggesting painting over metal windows and French doors to make them appear more like wood, for curb appeal etc, but nothing given on exactly what to use or how to actually do it. I didn’t want to get into all of the taping off like you mentioned at the start of the video only to find it wouldn’t adhere or work in the end. Anyway, any insight/ ideas about this is greatly appreciated!! Cheers!
Good, but I would definitely want the mechanism on the door and key and framework, because if you are already doing all the work of restoring your home, I'm d want it right, not necessarily perfect, but with all the pieces there.
I'm sorry, it's not available as a hardcover book, but you're free to print it and either put it into something like 3-ring binder, OR often you can find places that will spiral bind books for you!
Love the DIYs!!! Love the navy door and am eager to see the step by step process to your "new room"!!! The vintage look knob and backplate really make a huge difference. Nice touch. It is all in the details.
Not dumb at all! If you look closely, you can see that the horizontal piece that is across the top of our door is thicker than the horizontal piece across the bottom. Where typically most french doors have a higher "kick plate" piece at the bottom than at the top.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for the "glue" tip! ANYTHING to make cleaning up from painting all the panes easier.
Loved that tip so much though the mid tone wood seem to work better with your current pieces
Thank you for the video!
Great tip!!

Great video, would love more interior design tips
Noted!
So helpful I hope I can find that product in Australia. I have a ton of windows like this that need painting!
Love the 💙

Do you recommend washing the ikea curtains before hanging & hemming? Do they normally shrink?
I would wash them, but they do shrink. Wash in cold water and line dry, then iron. That’s how I do it.
Was the door sanded before painting?
Please do more DIY. Love this so much. New subsciber.. would love your e book in hard cover. Is it available?
I'm sorry, it's not available as a hardcover book, but you're free to print it and either put it into something like 3-ring binder, OR often you can find places that will spiral bind books for you!
Your videos are STUNNING 😍. I love your style! Everything from your thumbnails to your backgrounds to the actual DIY projects are perfect.
Thank you so much!!
Ooohh! What to choose?!?! I love them both equally...not very helpful, I know. I'll watch whatever you want to do! :)
Love the DIYs!!! Love the navy door and am eager to see the step by step process to your "new room"!!! The vintage look knob and backplate really make a huge difference. Nice touch. It is all in the details.
hi, what paint did you use for the black
This is actually dark blue! It is Miss Mustard Seed "Ink Blue", formerly called Artissimo.
That stuff is like latex that you paint around your skin for nail art
💙
You look like Princess Kate 🙂🌷
So sweet, thank you!

DIY's, thrift shopping.
No Primer?
So I'm going to ask a dumb question, how do you know the door is upside down
Not dumb at all! If you look closely, you can see that the horizontal piece that is across the top of our door is thicker than the horizontal piece across the bottom. Where typically most french doors have a higher "kick plate" piece at the bottom than at the top.

I can't wait til distressing furniture goes out of style!
You remind me of Princess Catherine....
Thank you!
I love your DIY and tutorials!!! Thanks a lot!
You are so welcome!
