Only if you don't fight back. You do have a choice you know.
Arsenio totally defended his show and himself at all cost.
Pine Barron Dude how do you know it was staged
@Pine Barron Dude Serious question: how old were you when this episode aired?
@Pine Barron Dude you have a point it could be staged who knows I mean it is called Tel-lie-vision for a reason and everything that we see is all an illusion... it look real to me... but that's just a part of the illusion to make it look real🤣😃😉
Pine Barron Dude you can’t put security on folks who just want to voice a opinion and think about how bad it will look to Arsenio himself and the show plus the network if someone is not allowed to voice opinion.
@Pine Barron Dude Lol silly liberals
"I don't know Gus van Sant, but I have had Elton John on the show and he rocked the house!" that was fucking awesome
what's wondered me was he didn't know Gus Van Sant ... but it obviously before Will Hunting

@@KaosKrusher Remember this was before Google and the internet.

"to be honest with you there are alot of gay guest on this show but it ain't none of yo damn business that they're gay" 💥
This is the most important thing he said! Some gay people care too much about the representation and look of gay people. Being gay shouldn’t be a fad or a trend. But some of them use it as a “im special card” I’m not discriminating! Just pointing that out
Remember the era. It wouldn’t have been right for Arsenio to out them at the time.
I mean we black people do it all the time. When a marginalize group has been beaten down for so long and things are finally starting to turn around. There are going to be people who see their difference as a uniqueness. For example “I’m black and I’m proud” and things of that nature. Hell even BLM became a damn trend.

"It's alot of gay people on the show, but it's none of your business that they are gay!" Enough said. I miss the show.
i would disagree because these are the celebrities that younger ppl look up to.. and the average person tries to emulate their style/wardrobe/mannerisms etc.. now, if id emulate someone like Diddy, Biggie, Dr Dre, Aaron Hernandez, tyrese gibson etc.. id like to know that i wont be emulating a homosexual.. those guys play the role of an alpha, but in reality.....
@@ynoter being gay shouldn't be a selling point, though. you should like them for their personality, not their sexuality unless you want to like them just for that. sometimes being gay is something people want to hide.

That's up to the celebrity not up to arsenio
IF I HAD MY IWN TV SHOW, A GAY PERSON WOULDN'T EVEN BE ALLOWED TO BE A JANITOR
@Zo Kay i said "IF"..
but alot of ppl emulate them because they think its cool and think that what ever they wear, how they talk, etc.. is "in" nowadays.. and if you rocking what these famous celebs are rocking your sex appeal points skyrocket in the dating marketplace.. thatss why you see the typical "fuckboy" wear skinny jeans and some of them with dyed hair..

spawnjg The only cases of physical violence that I personally know of against gay people, involved them aggressively seducing straight people. That is openly hitting on uninterested people and then implying prejudice when their advances were spurned. Another occasion was of a gay person walking around dressed up in clothing that did not cover their private areas properly. In other words exhibiting themselves in public where even children were in sight. In those cases the gay men were thrashed by members of the public, but that’s in Africa, where justice can often be handed unexpectedly and swiftly.

Irony: People thought Arsenio was Gay for years, NO ONE CARED.
he is
@@a-ddaigrepont3375 Kewl, Pretty sure you don't care & neither do I. 🤷♂️
@@melvinsprewel8287 yea lol
The guy was doing Paula Abdul in her prime, pretty sure he didn't gaf what people thought.
@Captain Brandon Horror Film Lover You can have children and still be gay lol. It's called being a "closet gay." Notice how there isn't even a spouse listed at all on that Wikipedia page? Either way, if he doesn't speak about his private life much, then we'll never know. It also doesn't really matter in any case.
This is like when people would get mad at straight actors playing lgbt+ roles but no one cares when a lgbt+ actors plays a straight role
I agree with what was said, But straight people aren't the ones that have been oppressed because of their sexuality.
Arty_ Curiosity It’s a Double standard though like how alot of actors do white-face in some roles there is no scrutiny whatsoever. So if there is a history of oppression in regards to a group respectfully nobody should be acting it out and the race or group to which someone belongs to shouldn’t give them the advantage of doing what other races can’t
Good call.
@@fishy9465 I bet it's real oppressing when a straight guy pretends to be gay. If anything it opens the doors up to gay being okay. Nobody is going to pretend to be gay if they thought it was gross or didn't agree with it in some way. Real homophobic shit is making a big deal about it.
*newsflash* im gay. no one cares if straight men share a kiss on screen. Bill Hader in Skeleton Twins for example. It's common and bothers nobody but the people you must argue with on Twitter.
"... But when you do a gay joke I have idiots here protesting"
Tell that to Dave Chapelle
“It’s a joke man loosen up and enjoy it” wish more people had this attitude
Nah. Too many people today think that they excuse anything they say, with it being a joke.
@@peterwhitey4992 or you can’t take it.
You mean like WHITE PEOPLE who get mad when a black person says something you don't like hypocrite
@@peterwhitey4992 eh, it's a 50/50 thing. You can't always assume it's just people being offensive for the sake of offensiveness. Some people do make some offensive jokes, but it's always for some dark punch line.
PEOPLE "NOWADAYS" NEED TO HEAR THIS "STRAIGHT UP"
“ITS LIT”
STRAIGHT UP 🗣
Its was a set up. Just trying to take down the black man. Wouldnt do that to any of the white host.
I just did!!!
STRAIGHT UP!
I remember this episode that night it aired & Arsenio is absolutely right, it's none of our business who's gay or not & I remember the night Elton John came on the show he'd absolutely rocked the house that night! Whoever those people were who interrupted the show that night, they should have stayed home or sat down & shut up and enjoyed the show & kept their personal beliefs to themselves!
This reminds me so much of what's going on right now with Dave Chappelle.
It's amazing how fragile the LGBTQ community is
Agreed. Fortunately they can’t cancel Chappelle because you can’t cancel someone that once canceled himself (turned down 60 million to do season 3 of Chappelle Show because they tried putting him a dress) Chappelle gives 0 fucks.
So he should invite someone on soley because they're gay? To promote their gayness?
Right, smh
Hahah yes. They just want to push the gay agenda and make everyone GAY!!! Hahah right !

My respect for his man is beyond limits. His reaction was absolutely perfect and he is VERY gutsy for being this honest.
I love how Arsenio destroyed the little punk, thinking he’s privileged to tell him how to run his show
His initial reaction with them really tells you the character of Arseno. They where clearly inturputing his show but he took the time to actually address them and listen, even before things got heated. Go back and watch.. He politely said "I am sorry I can't hear you man" he really was a man for the people. That's why his show was such a success.
Great point
I wish he would come back with a new show! 😊
@@notmebutyou8350 He did for a while 10 years ago. If it lasted another 5 years i'd agree with you.

This is a perfect example on how Freedom of Speech should be used. We have to learn to stand up for our beliefs and our stance on certain topics, whether they are right or wrong. We must learn to do it without disrespecting them for what they believe in. Arsenio came at them directly and brutally honest, but he wasn't trying to slam somebody.
