Arsenio Hall on Being Slammed By Queer Nation, Homophobes Over Guests (Flashback)

- In this flashback, Arsenio Hall opened up to VladTV about an incident that happened in 1990 where he was confronted by members of Queer Nation during the taping of his late-night show about not having gay entertainers on as guests. Arsenio explained to VladTV that he was a big supporter of gay entertainers, which is why the event angered him, and he added that he was still angered about it at the time of the interview. He was annoyed because he knew he had guests on who were gay, but it isn't his business to discuss that unless those guests bring it up. So the audience member was twisting his arm, because either he outs someone or he loses face. He refused to be put into that situation.

You should watch the video of that incident. They basically did what you said. He made jokes about everyone. When he made a gay joke they got mad and interrupted his show.

I always like the way Arsenio Hall carried himself whenever I saw him on TV or doing interviews and I remember seeing that episode on you tube with that person screaming in the audience. And on a side note I have a you tube channel type in Russell Mills May 22, 2017.

Recently a male comic said that Louie Anderson made sexual advances towards him in the 90s, and Louie said in an interview that it was true and he was sorry that he had made him uncomfortable. From the way he said it it sounded like that was something that happened a lot. So yeah, it seems pretty clear that he's gay, even if he's never really made a formal announcement.

When Hall walked up those stairs, it was crystal clear that he, as he stated, wasn't the one to play with. None of these folks went on, say, Johnny Carson's NBC show with that foolishness. He gave Lea DeLaria a national platform in 1993 and had Elton John on there a few years prior, so that makes the members of Queer Nation who tried to hijack that 1990 episode look silly.
