This is an example of how it's often so much more useful to be taught by a non-native. You can predict our mistakes and also know what elements of the language we will find the toughest. You predicted my omission of 'le' very accurately!
The best teacher I've ever seen. You made the complicated $ubjunctive topic look so easy. If we have made the sentences correctly it's because of your way of teaching. God bless you.
I love these videos so much. It's so convenient to have someone explain the uses of these phrases in so much detail while making it easy to understand for those new to the language. Keep up the great work!!
You're a great teacher! Very happy I came across your channel a few weeks ago. You're straight to the point and make learning Spanish simple. Thank you!
Qroo ... you are by far the coolest guey teaching Spanish on RUclips that I've seen. Your calm, smooth, sometimes jokey manner is quite supportive, because it allows us viewers to digest the lesson with a relaxed and open mind. I know you were a cop or deputy. It's hard to imagine your personality going along with that kind of work -- although the self-control and self-discipline are evident. It would be very interesting to viewers, I think, if you found a way to reference that prior life in your terrific videos.
Thanks for the super positive feedback. I appreciate it. I was a deputy for 25 years. The job had a lot to do with why my personality is like this now. :)
Paul, you're a good teacher; yes, when an Hispanohablante says "I want to teach you in Spanish because you'll need to think in it anyway" they have a point but that is like not using lower gears to climb a hill on a push-bike _doing it this way just makes it easier_ Thank you for a great explanation.
These lessons are so helpful and fun, challenging and informative. Love the way you build on previous lessons. Keeps me on my toes and thinking! Thanks!
We’re sharp bc you are showing us the way. Thank you so much for these. Please keep making the “plug and play” style ones. Also I love the ones where you give us a sentence starter. Gracias Paul 🙏
Qué padre. Me encanta tu forma de hablar y presentar información. No quiero que cambies nada. No hay ninguno otro como tú. Te ves tan relajado y me pone relajado también cuando aprendo.
How come no personal A in these examples, a Juan , a Maria. Thank you so much! You are the best of any Spanish teacher I’ve seen on RUclips, please keep it up.
I'd like confirmation I've got sentir and sentirse figured out. I like your easy way of explaining the "what" and "how" to determine which to use. I took it a step further and answered your questions in such a way that I believe can be used elsewhere. Please tell me if I get any of this wrong. By explaining it I am challenging myself. ¿Sabes lo que siento? Possible answer- Creo que sí que sientes tristeza. [tristeza is a noun and sentir is usually followed by a noun - tristeza answers "what" (that's how I learned to distinguish; and for those who want more tristeza is the direct object as sentir is transitive) ¿Sabes cómo me siento? Possible answer - Por supuesto que no. Supongo que te sientes triste. [triste is an adjective which usually follows sentirse; triste answers how therefore requires sentirse] I hope I got these right or back to the drawing board. I remember when learning sentir and sentar how I visualized that sentar with an ‘a’ refers to sitting on my a**. Silly things we can use. Everyone has them.
That is a fantastic explanation and application of the concepts involved. I wish I had explained it that way in the video. Your knowledge and understanding of the language appear to be extensive. Take care. :)
Tus videos. son maravillosos. mi nivel es entre intermedio y un poco mas. Lo que me gusta es la combinacion de videos faciles y dificiles.Me encantan los dos ideas por iguales. Soy una abuela de California y por cierto, eres muy guapa!! gracias por todo.
Thanks for a great practice video. I forgot the le also and am looking forward to the video on the redundant le. I’ve learned a lot from your videos! Thanks!
Thank you so much for making complicated structures a lot easier to understand. You're the best and I believe that comes from your own background of how you learned Spanish. You've shown me some light at the end of the tunnel after many years struggling with Spanish.
I found these exercises difficult, but that is s good thing. I went back and watched the lo que video first. I have also been following your advice on focusing on the present indicative, the preterite simple past and the present subjunctive. This one will be one I will need to practice several times before I master it. I learned some great new vocabulary as well. You look really warm in the middle of winter down south, with all that tropical vegetation. Another great video!
Terrific stuff! Great teaching. Really appreciate your very valuable contributions to my learning process. A todo dar! Como se dice en Mexico, muy padre!
Subscribed a few weeks ago and your lessons are helping me come on leaps and bounds. I got so much out of this practice lesson please do more. Thank you
I'm not that sharp, so I won't be getting my own RUclips channel soon. 😂 I guessed "hayas" instead of "hagas", but I was on the right track, and making mistakes is how you learn. Another great video. ¡Muchas gracias, Paul!
Wow. It is amazing how good these lessons are and YES I really do like this format. I took my time and went through the lesson and it was like sitting in class. I got most of them right but it shows that practice is key. I took too long on each to write them out. If it were a fluid conversation oh how slow I would be when talking. Thankfully most of the time people have patience in other countries. They know you are trying.
Thanks for the feedback. It is normal to take your time when you first learning a new construction. It's like doing a math problem for the first time, but you will get faster with practice. It will become more automatic and require less thought. It's like seeing that same math problem again and just knowing the answer because you already put in the work to figure it out.
I did get the last one right but I wouldn’t say that I’m sharp because it took me a little while to work it out. La lección es muy útil. Muchas gracias.
Hey, QRoo Paul, I would like to point out a usage in English that equals the redundant "le" in Spanish. "Do you remember what she, Maria, said to Juan?" I believe that is perfectly grammatical, though it is extremely rare in English. It is as if Español is always expecting that people will forget about whom we are speaking.
Excellent video! You’re little encouragement there at the end of the video a nice touch and actually made me feel confident that I’m making progress. I was able to nail that last sentence! Anyway, thank you for your videos!
My brain recognized the need for subjunctive but I had had a brain fart and couldn’t remember how to do it. The only good thing is that I tend to remember my mistakes and learn from them. I like the practice questions. I’m also trying to remember the verb subject order!
I got the last one because of your subjunctive videos..! I feel really comfortable with the subjunctive now. I still don’t speak out loud in Spanish enough I think that’s a big part of my issue..been stuck at the intermediate level for a long time now.
Please do anoyther video on the redundant Le !! i'm fairly beginner, heading towards intermediate ... but these redundancies i think crop up in other areas of spanish too and always catch me out.
"¿Recuerdas lo que dijo María (a Juan)?" could be rephrased as "¿Recuerdas qué dijo María (a Juan)?" Notice that in this second sentence "qué" is written with an accent mark whereas in the first sentence it isn't. However, this change cannot be applied to all the examples mentioned but just to some of them.
I am taking one of Spanish with Pauls quiz courses specifically to force me into remembering phrases, just like this video does. I am pausing your video and thinking about it a few times to make sure I covered everything. Still not at the subjunctive level.
I find the "redundant le" particularly difficult Paul. My phrases are incomprehensible without it. Obviously only in those sentences where it is necessary. Great to see you back after a few days! Safe trip!
Era importante que yo aprendiera Los Modo's del subjuntivo cuando me puse a hablar español. And do you know what Paul I make some right clangers still while learning Spanish. That's the fun of learning 😂
Good lesson! I'm struggling with this: te diré cuando lo sepa. I'll tell you when I know... what I don't get is the "lo" that appears ... I'm not saying "it"...
Otro video del "Canal de la epipifanía" ... ¡bien hecho! Not sure where one might fit this in so why not on your channel? Translate the ¿ into English in the sentence below. ¿viste? La respuesta es “did” Spanish is a beautiful language and learning it can be a curious thing.

Many thanks for all your lessons. Great that they are at a level I can benefit from ( I'm 76 !!)
I hope I am still in a learning mood when I am 76. You are an inspiration, Bill.
@@QrooSpanish many thanks - it' s a challenge but I want to speak a bit more when I travel to Spain and your lessons are ideal.
