One DAW - Two Sequencers [Discover Bitwig Studio]

- Many modern DAWs have some kind of linear arranger and a free-form clip launcher. What sets Bitwig Studio apart is how the two sequencers can be used together, letting you arrange, edit, and perform in any order and combination.

The fact that these two sequencers are in the same view takes this over the top. That one small detail changes everything.
Would be cool for newbies if the keyboards shortcuts used were displayed along the video!
Only the option to parc different audio samples in the clip launcher is a killer tool!
you've opened my eyes to a lot of things today.
2:49 a nice feature would be a Scene Track, similar to Propellerheads Reason Block. So, when you change something in the Clip launcher, it will be automatically applied to the arranger. And when you want to change just a small part of a Scene in your song, just overlay it with a new Midi clip or Audio clips in the arranger.
OMG I was just like, let me try any old random bitwig lesson.... DAMN man this is 100000% what I needed. I was like, I don't get the flow... but now.... ooooh
same here! just a bitwig tut before going to sleep and bam, new techniques
i was slowly figuring out this workflow on my own but this video now showed me the way
Love Bitwig since the beginning
Didn't know you could drag and drop scenes. Nice one!
Very interesting. I didn’t think about consolidating for making unique moments which has been one of the biggest hurdles within the clip launcher. Thanks for this!
Fort instructif, merci pour la vidéo.
I really love it bcz of how useful it is for live shows!
Amazing daw , thank you
who ever thumbs down free knowledge are weirdos
We need more discover tutorials and hidden tips y’all, please
Wow so much better than Ableton.
Superb 👍
The best daw ever....far beter than live.
On 4:02 you consolidate remove your sweep fade. Bitwig, Why not preserve Fades on consolidate? Whyyy? :(
U could transfer the Fade data to Audio Events.
been waiting on this feature!!! also notes, that would have a reverb flag into the next bar... when bouncing the clip the hallflag gets cut off. an option to put the fadeout of a reverb from after the end of a bar into the beginning of the bounced clip...
There should be an option to lock each section of the song like intro bridge etc so to move those sections around.
LOVE this .. But i use cubase
You guys have for sure one the weirdest and fastest workflow DAW ever,, but we need things to be less experimental and more musical , we need better presets for existing devices, the reverb is like a mystery thing , and maybe this is the guy from ableton or not but a voice like this was needed for bitwig for a minute you guys had me thinking this daw is more for nerds then for people the wanna make music lol so is great his here now he explains very much better than some you nerds ,,, also we need more midi stuff man build some deceives to generate rhythms and generate drums like some of M4L devices please
The reverb isn’t anything especially complicated. Size, diffusion/buildup make it smoother, the eq things are time multipliers for the decay time you set (1.5 on the high with 2 sec decay means the highs decay in 3 seconds) Tank fox let you put things into the reverb delay and feedback lines that should be it.
Try punctuation if you want to be taken seriously. Why are you lumping people into some weird arbitrary group called “nerds”? Why do you think you get to dictate whether their daw is more or less experimental? If you want a clone of another daw, then use that daw. I appreciate their different take on things, that’s why I use Bitwig.
@@hypnoz123 is not about punctuation believe me and we’re nerds bro so you need to relax I love bitwig but I’m also a consumer, been with bitwig since v1 and as a consumer I’ll like to see the things I like to see that’s why I pay 169 every years bro ohhh here you go ...................
There is no other DAW on the market that can beat Bitwig in these great workflows and its flexibility of sound design, and all of this can be done fast. Musicality is upon the composer and their used VSTs/presets.
Also with recent synth additions, it really needs no third party VSTs, everything you need is built-in. There is a lot of potential for building up your own sound.
Hi, is there a way to change the color scheme of the Arrange timeline and Piano roll editor? That light gray background is really botherring me in a dark room.
The old Crumb & Mace ender.
Does logic live loops have quantize countinue?
I used the Reason Rack Drum Sequncer on the drum machine, but I cant figure out how to record it, Bitwig dont know and Reason dont know? wierd?
bitwig needs a way to select everything vertically... Or like in Ableton, by clicking the Loop thing at the top, you select everything that is inside the loop time
Can use the time selection for this ?
as Mykael pointed out, use the Time Selection tool in the timeline ruler.
Can we please get a discount for Thanksgiving? I've been waiting to get Bitwig Studio and was about to sell my Ableton 10 Suite when they dropped the news on version 11. Really hard not to get pulled back when upgrade prices and the actual package is better but on the other hand .....dang! I've been having so much fun with Bitwig 16 track.
Polarity and Morningdew Media offers a discount with a promo link. Check in the description of their videos. Also check their videos :).
Im also waiting for the sale...card in hand just waiting....
There is a Christmas time discount usually in December 😉
I thinking about Bitwig or Ableton do Bitwig have a Drum Rack
Yes. We call it a Drum Machine.
How do you get the horizontally clip launcher?
There are view toggles at the top left of the Arranger panel.
Is there a way I can get Bitwig Studio to learn how to produce psytrance? I want to start with it instead of Ableton but its too expensive for me right now :(
Learn with live first
Bitwig Studio now has a couple of flavors to choose from: 8-track (some of the license came for free with a magazine), 16-track and full version. You can also diddle around in the demo version but you can't save anything.
In terms of psytrance, I believe Kindzadza is giving workshops about psytrance production in BWS, so you can try that. Certainly BWS's sound design capabilities are a great match for psy.
Ableton is even more expensive. Start with something you can afford. All DAWs sound great these days. Producing psytrance will be more or less the same process in any DAW.
Please update the sequencer. Its lacking in many features. Presonus studio one is so much more flexible when moving around sections of a song. That frustrates me in Bitiwig.
Or even the dude from Venus theory but for sure is the guy from ableton lol
Looks cool, but Reason does all that and you get loads more instruments, effects and samples for the same money.
I use reason in bitwig 😎
Reasons does not have these features! The modulation possibility alone are amazing something Reasons can only dream about.
This voice sounds like AI. I haven't slept in nearly a week. Am I hallucinating? I think it's AI but I'm not sure. My gods, I need sleep. This is an amazing program by the way. If you are human: My deepest apologies lol. You should consider a career in voice acting, or submitting the work for AI samples. I swear I'm not trolling you. I'm just tired as hell.
It sounds like the guy from ableton
but this two sequencencers in one was my decision maker for switching from Live to new Bitwig back in time :)
@@linstate007 Seriously? ruclips.net/video/bsMMhegTKH0/видео.html
@@Artek604 man back than means Bitwig 1.0 4 years before Ableton made it 🙄
@@linstate007 You're ignorant again - it's been introduced in 9.1 in Nov 2013 :)

This has to be one of the worst Bitwig videos:
- the colours are washed out
- 2:40 the whole point of Bitwig having clip containers is to edit clips INSIDE of Clip Launcher, so this dragging stuff back & forth to Arranger is not necessary
- 3:52 is ridiculous painting those clips at the edges! why wouldn't you simply use Time Selection tool, select all that & drag to Clip Launcher??
- 7:05 was an ideal opprtunity to present Follow Actions, that could create a randomised beat jumping between loops say every 1/8 to record in Arranger
- why the feature of playing stuff back from Clip Launcher and Arranger showcased? most people don't know about it
- I hope it's not a start of a series, which apparently it is...
Just ignore this channel and make your own video tutorials ... in pure colours
What a rambling mess!
@@NathanChisholm041 I agree. This video - and most follow ups - is a mess ;) :P
