    Thanks man! You really helped me! I didn't realize the different sections in the Play settings button, one for the Arranger and one for the Clip Launcher!

    So armed with this knowledge, a Nektar Pacer, and some practice, Bitwig basically becomes an incredibly powerful looper with foot control.

      Hahaha yeah maybe. Bitwig is many things in the form of a DAW.

    It unfortunately only works with MIDI. It would be perfect, if you could Overdub in AUDIO Clips (or am i missing something here?)

    Any idea/workaround for AUDIO Overdubbing? Would be great to have - similar to a Loopstation.

      I developed my own idea how Bitwig could implement a smooth overdub for live performance, starting with minute 14.45 here ruclips.net/video/oLDshsHmLYo/видео.html

    So the Overdub button is also a RECORD button!! I didn't know that.

  • @SongOfItself

    Thank you! So far, if I wanted to record a few notes in-between, I had to be quick with the stop button so as to not to overwrite the earlier good parts 🙂 So this helps a lot!
    A question, though I think I know the answer: is there a way, in Bitwig, to keep recording like that in a loop, but in such a way that each iteration of the loop becomes a new clip, a new "take"? So that you could later pick the best take and drop all the others?

    Do you have a tutorial that shows how to overdub record automation in clip view? I know how to draw it in but not while turning macros etc

    Great video, but you didn't mention one button which I can`t understand - "record on scene launch". I can`t get how it works. I was hoping it would turn on recording scene without clicking the mouse, but none of that 😑

      Hey thanks Giorgio !!
      Patreon, just $3 and you get access to not yet released videos. And preset packs for different synths.
      There are currently 5, but in a few days I will release at least two more.
      So every moth you get presets and sample packs, that the idea. You support the channel but get something in return.

    hello, when it comes to recording, MIDI or audio, is there any way to start recording just at the very moment when i start playing notes? i mean the record transport beginning when i start playing not before. thanks.

    On a similar but not related note, I wanted to record takes for midi but soon realised that take lanes are only for audio. I was very dissapointed. I was using scaler 2 with it's performance sequences and I wanted to combine them into phrases by using take lanes but nope. BW doesn't support midi takes :(

    • @XNBeatsMusic
      @XNBeatsMusic  2 года назад

      Yes, there is no comping for midi. It would be really cool though. You can create many tracks and group them, and every track would beat a variation. ... Or on the arranger duplicate the loop and play the same midi over and over and then you keep the best variation.

    Hi! Thanks for your video. I have a situation. When I record multiple takes, the volume of the audio track is low even though I increase the mic's input gain in the audio interface. Then when I try to change the gain of each take, the gain returns to the default when I jump to another take and get back to the previous take. Like if I change the gain of take 1 to 15 db and then if I go to take 2 and change it to 15 db and when I go back to take 1 it's again in the default position and not at 15 db. How do I set the gain for each take so that it doesn't change when I keep jumping takes? Please help me out.

    I'm using Bitwig 8 track and I have the orange overdub button for the clip view but I don't have red plus overdub button for the arranger view. Do you know why?

    • @XNBeatsMusic
      @XNBeatsMusic  2 года назад +1

      hey, pretty sure its there. But remember to enable and PIN IT to you transport where the play and stop are. Go to the button that literally says PLAY, it will give you a bunch of options, you will see the + there and right next to it you have the PIN IT icon.

      @@karamabeats oh, i don't do overdub. It turns out it takes a lot more work. I would have to record things twice. I've release almost 150 videos in 3 months. So if you need to produce fast, overdub will not help you. But i am using a good mic, mic preamp, compression, gating,limiting and post processing.
