Your doing a good thing teaching people how to clean squirrels. Gonna have start a how to series of man stuff, clean fish, bait a hook, change your own oil ect.
I have always just made a small cut in the pelt across the middle of the back to get my fingers into and pull from both sides. Do it when they are still warm for the easiest and fastest results. I use Midwest USA Aviation snips (red handle), a Cold Steel Vietnam Special Forces tomahawk, or a 1 1/2# meat cleaver for the tail, paws and head to make quick work out of it. I like mine panfryed in a vintage Wagner cast iron skillet with flour, salt and pepper for seasoning. I make gravy out of the drippings for my mashed potatoes after cooking the squirrel. I really like squirrel, cheese and barley casserole although I have never made it by myself. That stuff was very good and tasty!
