Great 'sode! Francois is the man.
It’s so enjoyable watching people who’ve spent their whole career share their knowledge and input about technical creative arts.
Francois is such a wonderful person. Had the pleasure of meeting him a few weeks back!
he’s the best
I had the honour to meet Francois. What an amazing human being
Very much agree with Francois, gear isn’t end all be all!
So refreshing attitude in the „full frame, 8k, blah blah blah” era
Glad to see this, thank you both for making this video.
Love this new format with interviews!
cheers!
Francois is a nice dude. He helped me out when I was getting my Arri.
Such a great conversation with so much insightful content. Francois seems like such a pleasant person - could easily spend hours talking to him without noticing time fly by. I especially loved the part where you two talked about the 35 and where he breaks down the cost of a second in a production. Amazing!
You’ve been unhinged lately and I love it
Very educative conversation 💯
What a great video ! thanks
More content like this it’s incredible ❤❤❤
Very interesting chat and incredibly insightful! Thanks for making this mate.
Thanks for watching!
Incredible to see this channel grow so fast and get exclusive interviews with a different perspective on film and cinema RUclipsrs. 💯
Cheers! Thanks for being here.
Francois needs to star in your next short
This was amazing!
A lot of information and wisdom. Thanks for sharing!
Such a great video!
This was genius!!! Loved the vid bro & your overall channel 🙏🙏🎥🔥📸
love this
Francois is a G. thnx for watching
Congrats
Love how he articulates the abstract part of the imaging process. It's always about the story
I learn so much every time I watch your videos! Thank you 🙏
So nice! 👌 Really like the direction you’re taking your channel
Thak you for this video
Thanks for watching it!
Dude! This is awesome stuff. Keep it up Pat
Cheers!
What a great chat!
I generally advise my new collaborators that you have to be comfortable with gears & filmmaking technologies so that you will not get overwhelmed by them when you strive to tell the story in the best possible way.
Crazy. My name is Tommaso Potrich LOL
Patrick, I really enjoy your work. Great video. But to be honest, I didn’t like the colorgrade coming from the fx30. Why are the skin tones yellow? Why do the faces look blown out? Sorry for the criticism, but just curious. Thank you.
it's exactly how i want it to look
Lol, first I've heard of a company giving out certificates with the camera, I wonder who it was.
I am not a fan of the Alexa 35 sensor, so far. Arri have taken a few technical steps forward with the Alev 4, particularly in terms of resolution, dynamic range and colour. However, I feel the overall image it delivers has taken a few steps backwards in terms of artistic, and general ‘film-like’, soft aesthetic qualities compared to the previous sensor. I am hoping they can improve upon this with the next sensor.
Patrick what camera and lens combination did you use to film this interview.
Fx30 I actually don’t remember what lens haha probably 16-28?
François is French, that’s why he is doin great
Hello Patrick, disclaimer: this comment is totally unrelated to this video. I didn't know how else to contact you as I'm not verified on Twitter and there's no messages on RUclips. Don't mean to levy accusations publicly. It pertains to your Batman cinematography video, but I didn't want it to get lost in the shuffle of the million view vid.
I recently watched a video by Tomorrows Filmmakers titled "Why Modern Movies Look So CLEAN and How To Fix Them". I feel they plagiarized the content of your Batman video. However, I'm not familiar with you or them enough to know if you were involved. I didn't notice a reference to your work if there was one. Maybe you don't feel it's similar enough to be a problem, but it rubbed me the wrong way. Thought you should know if you haven't seen it.
I appreciate you having my back. RUclips is funny this way. I certainly didn’t invent any of the concepts discussed in my video, but it seems they made an essay based entirely on my thesis.
It looks really noisy, and like too much grain has been added to the color grade.
It was.
Not a fan of the s35 statement. Arri could have gone a smiliar like Red, build a LF sensor which allows a s35 mode.
Nah. S35 all the way.
@@impatrickt nope, even if i have 2 s35 cameras. The option to have both, ff and s35 is great.
@@chakk0 I’m good
“Worlds best cameras” now those are fighting words 🤣 jk jk.
name a better one 👀
@@impatrickt we use a V-Raptor, and in our use case, it’s better than the Arri. 95% as good of an image for less money and more flexibility.
@@corsawerks nice I’m not into the “red look” at least from modern mainstream examples but that’s subjective if you love it that’s all that matters. Story first!
@@impatrickt go look at our “51” trailer. What’s not to love about that look? 🫶🏽
@@corsawerks95% as good is 5% worse, not the best then
