    What are your thoughts on the X-T50 and XF 16-50mm f2.8-4.8???

    Thanks for your thoughtful first impression of the XT-50, Michael! This camera is for a niche group of photographers that don’t require weather sealing, high burst speeds, or a d-pad. The selling point for me over the other existing cameras in the Fuji X lineup is the compact form bundled with the 40 mp and IBIS. The XS-10 has been an excellent entry into Fuji for me. However, I’m a photographer who does not and will not dive into video and happens to have small hands. After using it for a week, I found the XT-5 to be a fantastic camera, but it is too big and heavy for a photo session, let alone multiple shoots in a day. I appreciate that Fuji is the only manufacturer offering the same sensor and processor across their cameras and designing distinct products for different uses/needs. I do hope that in the future, Fuji releases a firmware update so that the f1-f3 on the film sim dial can be used for custom recipes/sims. If they don’t, there’s always the Q button to pull them up!🙂

      Hi! Thanks so much for watching and sharing your thoughts. I agree about liking that Fujifilm is the only one who share sensors across body styles and each with different feature sets and audiences. I really like the feel of the camera and think it will do well for Fujifilm. Cheers!

    Good video Michael (and photos). I’m not interested in this camera but the lens is another story. I have the XF18-55 (from my first Fuji camera) and the XF16-80, but I like that the XF16-50 has an internal zooming mechanism. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

      Hi Enrique! I wasn’t that interested in the camera either, until I used it. It’s pretty fun. Same with the lens. As always, it’s nice to have so many high quality options. Good luck in your decision making!

      @@MSladekPhoto I’m sure it’s a fun (and excellent) camera, but for fun I’m using the X100VI wannabe, the X-T1 with the XF23 f/2 for all my street photography, it’s old technology by today’s standards, but it’s a small and light package that works great for my needs.

      I'm a big fan of using what you already have! I just got the TT Artisians 27mm f2.8 pancake lens, because there are no XF 27mm's anywhere, to try with X-T3, 2, or 1. I've heard good things, and it's "only" about $150.

      @@MSladekPhoto Thank you for letting me know, I’ve used TTArtisan and Viltrox lenses and I returned them (could be user error), I prefer to use Fuji native lenses, having said that, I do have a Rokinon 12mm f/2 and I’m more than happy with the results that I get.

    Thanks for the video. I had hoped that the X-T50 would have the 26mp sensor combined with the X-Processor 5, because I expected that to deliver better AF performance. You did not comment on AF performance - do you know how it compares to the X-S20?

    • @MSladekPhoto
      @MSladekPhoto  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi! Great question… in my experience the focus speed and accuracy felt similar to other 5th gen processor cameras, including my X-H2S. I did not do any detailed tests, but impression of autofocus was very good. Hope that helps!

    Wait to get the X-S30… no doubt it’ll get the 40mp, will be weather sealed, better battery, and I suspect they will include internal Prores for the ultimate small hybrid

      Hi! I'd be surprised if the X-S20 replacement has WR, as the X-S20 does not have WR. I think Fujifilm tends to reserve WR capabilities for "flagship" cameras. Will be interesting to see, though!

    i got a used X-H1 as my first Fuji camera and I love it. I don't have a kit lens yet; do you think this new 16-50mm is a good fit since the X-H1 has IBIS? Thanks!

      Hi! Thanks for watching and sharing your question. I think the new 16-50mm f2.8-4.8 should be a really nice fit for your X-H1. In my short time with the lens, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Hope that help!

    can I save my own recipes (like WB shift) and other tweaks to the new dial? I have 4 F simulations that I use, and rarely use the standard Fujifilm sims, and if I do, I also tweak them. I was reading somewhere that you can not save these changes, and as soon as you switch off the camera all sims go back to standard Fujifilm profiles. So, would like to have this clarified.

      Hi Mia. That’s a great question, and I don’t have the clear answer, as that is something I did not test. I’ll do a little research to see what I can find… Thanks for watching and sharing your comment!

    Thank you for the information. I have got 16 mm 1.4 fuji lens with X T 5 camera. Do you think that XF16-50mm f2.8-4.8 is a better than 16 mm 1.4 fuji lens.

      Hi! I don’t know that the 16-50 f2.8-4.8 is better than the 16 f1.4, I think it’s very different and will offer more versatility as a zoom lens. Cheers!
