Why do people open their doors? The camera is there for you to see if it's someone you know. Why would you open it to tell someone to go away?
Also I never did get people telling the jerks on the doorstep "I'm calling the cops." No. Don't tell them, just call. Then they'll be there when the cops get there.

Keeps doors locked at all times, put away bikes in garage or lock in shed.
Dont leave anything out for people to steal.
Anything left out is like an open invitation. I also dont decorate the front of my home, i dont leave anything out to encourage others to step foot on my property. We also have a lock on our privacy fence gate.
Times have changed people, i dont even live in the US, in Canada i am vigilant

i used to have a friend (sad really, i can't hang out with him anymore)
that gets like that when he's high off the rock... swatting at invisible
mosquitos, unable to talk right... can't understand him.
i never realized how much he looked up to me cuz for one, i'm white,
and yes almost all of my friends are black due to where i live, but
anyways, we used to just smoke pot, and hang out. then he got on to
worse things.... then when he finally introduced me to his mom a few
years back, i couldn't believe the way he introduced me and how he
described me (and our overall friendship).
he was saying i was extremely smart / smartest person he knew and
many other compliments i rarely hear anyone say... but it came from
him to his mom... about me. i had NO IDEA he thought that much
about me. real talk. a lot of the time i thought he didn't really like me
due to how he would look at me sometimes and other times how he
spoke to me. but i know one thing about black families, when it comes
to talkin to mom, it's nothing but the highest order of respect and truth.
with that being said, i knew he wasn't lying about what he was sayin
bout me, which broke my heart while also making me feel embarrassed.
seriously... i never in a million years thought he'd have so many nice
things to say about me, a white guy, only a year or two younger but still,
around here you always respect your elders. but it seemed to me like
he has all this hidden respect for me and idk how or why. i guess its
from the things we've spoken about during drives in the summer, and
possible conspiracy theories that turned out to be true and pondering
when X Y Z conspiracy theory will "expire" and finally be available for a
FOIA request. since certain documents and cases have an expiratory
date (meaning, what was done/covered up/etc can no longer cause a
person any harm or damage to their life as they're either all dead and
the secrets are gone with them except now the whistle blowers can go
on and get to the truth, regardless of how much of it is redacted. it
simply proves that it DID happen and it WAS covered up,, and the people
involved are usually what's redacted along with only god knows what).
anyways, thought i'd feel like sharing that... since a lot of my friends
seem to have a love/hate relationship with me.
to me, i only ever feel like they don't get me or sometimes even dislike me.
but when they TALK about me, whether i'm around or not, it's always
really, really deep compliments. which blows my mind... idk what i did
to deserve any of those but i do wish they'd show it to me... the respect
part especially.
