I believe that was an Armed Security Guard not a LEO...shoulder patch doesn't look like anything related a city or county. Looks more like a company logo, the channel probably just assumed it was a LEO since he's armed.

With the fire at Costco, why weren't the fire alarms sounding?
With the officer shouting “head towards Denver” and the clear amount of smoke outside compared to inside, I believe this was a fire in the Boulder area last year and was actually a forest fire that was approaching the rear of the store and Costco itself was not on fire.

Authorities don't drop charges, the District Attorney's Office makes that decision. Charges can be dropped for lack of evidence, in lieu of more serious charges, inability to meet the legal elements, and a host of other reasons.

You guys obviously don’t live in and have never visited California. Almost ALL these thefts took place in really nice high end expensive upscale areas. Thugs drive out to luxury malls and fancy stores to steal. Those Macys, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and even in that Walmart was in a nice neighborhood like Glendale, Topanga Mall, Century City, Beverly Hills, etc…… closing a store won’t do anything all they gotta do is drive to the next one. Because that's the limitations of their duty as mere Security Guards. "Observe N' Report" is the duty of a guard, nothing more...nothing less inside of a retail or grocery store. If it were a LPO (more so back in the day compared to nowadays) or a LEO then that scene would've played out entirely different.
Because he is probably not a security guard with a gun and he wants to make him to his family just like you would want your family to come home to you after a long day of work.
Those ladies that stole that diamond ring, did he say the ring was $30k and they were $10k short and to hold it while they ran to the atm? If thats the case he deserves to lose it. Ive never heard of an atm that gives anywhere close to that amount of money. I could be wrong, i just cant imagine an atm spitting out $10000.

That wouldn't accomplish anything more than unarmed guards. They're not allowed to take action and shoplifters know it. What they need are the old Loss Prevention days when LPOs could actually do something on the spot. The problem with that though is today's legal system makes that too risky for businesses to want to deal with (understandably so given the cost that can occur from false detainment suits and/or work comp from injuries). So they instead rely on "visual deterrence" aka Security Guards which don't work and/or PD which also doesn't work because PDs are typically undermanned and shoplifting is a low priority call.

2 of the events took place in Colorado. The people who stole the laundry soap and trash bags took place in Brighton Colorado. They hit numerous stores before being caught. The store (Costco) took place in Superior Colorado. We have friends that lost their homes and everything in it. Our friends were so thankful that no one was hurt and that walking away with their lives was a blessing.

Honestly, we have to find a way as employees for retail stores to be able to protect ourselves and customers. Security should be armed with non-fatal weapons. If you’ve ever been hit by a paintball you know that stuff hurts. They do have a weapon out there today that is similar to a paintball gun. It’s a pistol that shoots out little balls that have like pepper spray in them with everything is going on companies are going to have to seriously start looking at options like this and before entering, there should be a notice on the door that the security and store employees are equipped with non-fatal equipment for protection

I live in Westminster, about 8 miles from the fire in Boulder county. It was terrifying for us. The Costco burned to the ground. So many people lost their homes and businesses. It was right after Christmas too. Not a great way to start off the New Year for sure. 😢
My husband and I live in Broomfield. We have friends who lost their homes and everything in it. However, our friends displayed such a beautiful Christian spirit knowing that they still have each other, the most important blessings of all. Our friends also were able to witness a beautiful Christian spirit of love displayed by their Christian friends. They are recovering and doing well and looking forward to rebuilding their homes.

But a gun is useless if the store is empty, so the clerk locks the door and scoot out the back. There's a couple of good ones where the clerk walks out the front door while the thief is busy.
Feel sorry for the small Mom and Pop businesses. Not so for Target, Walmart and other big retailers. Never showed up for trial when cops arrested the shoplifters. That told them it was ok to steal and no consequences.
