A guy with a knife tries to break into a home and the cops say that it’s not a criminal offense. What do they want for him to kill the lady first? Then it would be a criminal offense.
As soon as the guy broke in with a knife, it's burglary in most jurisdictions. Breaking and entering a residence with the intent to commit a felony and / or petty or grand theft. So please explain to the jury what was your intent to going in with a knife, Mr. DEFENDANT?
This is why I'm armed. The cops couldn't arrive in time to help even if you lit a fire under their asses. If anyone ever kicks in my door, I'll make sure the body falls inside.

Years ago my wife woke me up at 3 in the morning and was terrified. She said someone was trying to get in the front door. We lived in a small split level
House so I was able to hear the door handle being turned from my bedroom. This was before we had ring cameras. Grabbed an equalizer and went downstairs. I was able to look through a side bay window and…it was my neighbors daughter. All wasted thinking she was at her house. Cops showed up from our 911 call and it all got sorted out. Beyond terrifying though thinking someone is breaking in your home at 3am. Make sure you have some type of defense. Cannot rely on cops to save you.

@@TheDonna1959i wouldn't want to live in a society where the only thing keeping me alive is not accidentally knocking on the door of somone buying a gun and then fetishising the idea of intruders allowing him to finally kill somone. A few years back a man left hia garage door open and put beer on display as to lure in people so they would steal beer and he would have the right to kill. A germab exchange student was drunk and stepped in and got killed. Like how is this a justified response? How is it an equalizer if you shoot at an unarmed person possibly confused and on drugs?

Back about 22 years ago, my husband, myself and our then 3 y/o son were living in Glendale, Az. Really nice neighborhood at the time.
I had just recently installed a steel security door on our front door.
My husband had to leave on a family emergency, which just left my son and I.
One day, there was this banging on the security door and 2 young men were screaming that they needed help as they were being chased by a gang.
First thing I did was yell at my son to hide - we had created a hiding place under his bed if anything bad should happen. A small crawlspace that no one could see.
Anyhow, I yelled through the front door that I was calling 911 for assistance. The guys story changed to the gang had gone down the other block, could I give them some water, could they come in and rest.......
911 asked for their description. Sure, no problem.
I opened the door a crack, pointed my 9mm at them and gave 911 the description of the 2 guys.
Cops never came.
Unfortunately, 3 elderly couples down the street fell to their ruse. They were robbed and beaten. One elderly gentleman died a few months later from his injuries.
About 2 years after this incident, we moved to the small town where my husband was born and raised. I still have a weapon nearby with easy access to. None of us leave our safety in the hands of anyone else i.e. the police. By the time they come - if they come - it's already too late.

I imagine criminals trying to sue the station for showing them would probably be the bigger issue.. you know.. because they think COMMITTING the crime is okay, but showing the footage of them doing it? That crosses the line. 🙄

Don’t open your door, even for a delivery guy. Delivery guys usually drop off the package and leave if no one answers the door. And even for food, you can pay online and again, have the delivery person drop it off at the door. You don’t have to open it.

i had a creepy encounter recently at a public laundromat. A woman who seems super coherent at first was talking to me, then the conversation turned for the worse. This is why you NEVER open your door to strangers/unknown people! If possible, buy and install a steel frame & solid steel doors. Keep those storms doors locked. Also, lock your front, side, back, basement, & sliding glass doors at all times! To include your garage & car doors. Keep your windows locked and curtains closed. Do not leave out bicycles, children's toys, tools, ladders, or anything of value in your front or backyard.
Invest in a large trained guard dog, bear spray, taser, gun, & ammo. Have these available at all times! You never know what real intentions people have. Such as serial killers, robbers, murderers, rapists, gang bangers, drug addicts, drunks, mentally ill people, sickos who are violent, homeless, etc. Be alert! Stay safe!

@@andysalter7192 The reputation is well-earned. The breed is called "pit-bull" because it was intended for fighting in pits. The breed wasn't meant to even be in CONTACT with people let alone serve as a companion animal. They were bred BY animal abuse and FOR animal abuse---they literally should not exist and it should be illegal to breed them.
They are a small percentage of the dog population in the U.S. but account for the VAST majority of all fatal dog bites in humans. They are most definitely deadly breed.
Now, doesn't mean every pitbull you see is going to try to kill you, but most of them COULD, and they are DEFINITELY more likely to try than other breeds. Remember, even a wolf or a lion won't NECESSARILY try and kill you. I heard a story of a woman who had a pitbull for years with no incident, and then it turned and mauled her toddler to death and seriously injured her.
There are so many other dog breeds in the world that make GREAT pets. STOP BREEDING PITBULLS.

I've heard stories to of people who owned their pitbull for years without incident, then the dog suddenly turned and mauled their toddler to death.
There are SO MANY BREEDS to choose from---it is sheer irresponsible madness to pick pitbulls.

The other night I was in my car about to leave to run up to the gas station at 4:45am (as it was still dark out), and I took my Pittie with me as he always likes to car ride and we were about to leave my driveway and this masked man opens my passenger door and thinks he’s about to rob or kill me (my black pittie was in the back seat, whom he CLEARLY did NOT see) and before I could even reach for my gun, my Pittie leaped in the front seat and decided to have himself a late night snack. The guy then pulled away (while screaming) with all his strength and slammed the door running away like I’ve never seen someone run before lol. I can bet he thinks twice before doing that again. He’s lucky I didn’t just re-open the car door and let my dog chase him down and finish him off. I always told my husband if I was to ever get robbed, I think my dog would get to him first to take him out before I could even grab my firearm. Oddly enough, it happened and it went just the way I thought it would. Thankfully

Scary. I came home once to find my ring camera caught a guy earlier in the day at my front door feeling all over the frame, as if he was looking for a key. He stayed there for another five minutes, then left. I didn’t sleep for a week.

Oh, it happens alright! I live in a small village and three years ago, after my dad had his first stroke, we had no less than 4 people complain about his lawn and yard looking bad and apparently that made the entire village look bad somehow. I ended up putting up a big sign in our front window that read "Dad had a STROKE! HIS care comes first! If the lawn offends your sensitive little soul DON'T LOOK AT IT!" They stopped knocking after that.

What's wrong with those people, I don't get it, how can they survive behaving like that in the long run. If something like that happened to me, whatever happened after is caused by themselves and they should know that. Personally, I would never dare to force my way into the home of strangers, because I know what risk that would be and I'm not criminally insane. And in the end, I could only blame myself for whatever happened as a result of it.
The only thing I could think of is the cops did not want to do the paperwork. The guy with the knife should have definitely been arrested

Ultimately, protect yourself and your family, but don't be one of those people who shoots or stabs someone simply for mistaking the house or yard.

This is why we have 2 handguns and a shotgun. Guys teach your wives, girlfriends, moms, aunt's, sisters how to shoot so if they are home alone they can protect themselves. Nothing else is going to protect them, cops take too long and anything else you'd have to be too close. A gun you can hit somebody at a distance and do some good damage before they get to you.
