- On March 10, 2023 in Florida, deputies responded to a trespassing call involving an unpredictable male. The caller reported that she and the man shared a child, and he had been persistently harassing her. She did not know whether the man would be violent with law enforcement. This is footage of the events that followed.

That's what happens when the Government make CUTS to the mental health facilities, The Sick have no where to go for LONG TERM in-patient treatment. How do i know, i use to work in one..After the economy crashed after Bush II in 2008-09, they started downsizing and closing hundreds of mental health facilities all across the Country....There are more Mentally ill people on the street than in hospitals because they have no where to treat them if they need serious help. Many get treated, get medication and get sent on their way...Then they go to jail for their behaviors, when what they need is long term, drug or mental health treatment...

It is most often NOT mutual, though it can be either the man or the woman. In this case, he is the problem. Saying that the abuse is the victim's fault is very problematic and puts fault on the wrong person. Nobody makes you raise your hand to another other than you. In this case, he is a danger at this point and needs a psych eval. Who knows other than them what happened before. If he even knows...

Officer handled this call so well. He was respectful to the guy, didn’t make fun of or verbally provoke him, stuck to the issue of the trespass, didn’t nitpick about the trash. Of course, he just wanted the dude to leave so he could be done with the call, but I’m glad he didn’t let the brief nail gun pointing go by. Very good judgment.
Rewatched it at 25% and I'm just not seeing him point towards the officer. It looks like it was wrapped up in that blanket/tarp and he simply pulls it out to put back in the truck. Not that it changes much, if anything. He still was lingering to long, thus asking for it.

I was nervous when he kept fumbling around in his car ‘looking for his keys’. How was that officer so calm? Especially with a clear junkie.
No doubt, especially when he had that bag in his lap with his hands in it. That was a fail by the LEO that could have cost him his life.
Good training. The officer knew what to do and when. Good heads up to dispatch. When you fund police well you get better cops that are prepared for situations like this.

I absolutely commend the officer in this encounter, but he allowed the guy, domestics are dangerous, too many times he let him fidget and fiddle inside the truck and especially with the bag.
That could have cost him a lot. Otherwise, the man did a fine job and is a great example of an officer.
