Just saw another video were a zoo in the occupied land had the majority of its animals bombed or starved to death within the last month. Apparently, someone from the other side didn't take into consideration how much time it would take to safely evacuate an entire zoo, or they just didn't care . When said “prisoners” are innocent, abducted in the middle of the night or while walking on the street, without charge, trial, evidence, held in prison under “administrative detention”, for an indefinite period of time that gets extended every few months, then yes, those prisoners are also considered hostages.
They’re taken to prisons without telling their parents or families in which prison exactly, denied family visits, denied medical care, barely fed or provided with water, many in solitary confinement, many have been released with broken hands or arms. They are being beaten and tortured in those prisons. Some are as young as 14 years old. Some are grandmas 71 and 72 years old. They are also being beaten and reportedly stepped on by Israelis.
When all these people are held and are innocent, yes they’re hostages.
When a 3 year old child is held, they’re also a hostage.
Now, you may argue that there are some who do have a charge, like a 14 or 15 year old who was allegedly throwing a rock on an Israeli tank that was raiding their street, or maybe their charge is that they screamed at an Israeli soldier who beat up their mom or sister or little brother. Or, as in the case of one of the girls who was released, she was being attacked by her Israeli neighbor who had stolen a Palestinian home prior and tried to pull of her hijab or headscarf, so naturally she resisted, then they charged her for being violent.
Or maybe the 14 year old boy who was shot 30 times while walking on the street going to buy bread for his family and lost half his skull is guilty of something?
These children are being held in Israeli dungeons for over 10 years for throwing a rock or screaming at a soldier. Same soldiers who spit on them, beat them up, harass them on the streets and even in their own homes. Same Israeli soldiers and settlers who are armed and going around shooting innocent people for no reason.

Learn about Islamic rules of war. They can't hurt non combatants and are forced to take care of any women and children if their parents are killed. That is why they have to take the kids to be looked after until they get to safety.
