I have some house tracks that I've been sitting on for a while cos I felt like no one would like them. This has inspired me to revisit them. Thanks so much🙏🏾😅
I wish there was a “love” button for this video instead of just a “like” button. I’ve always loved seeing producers discover and make music from a different genre then they are used to. Keep these coming. Love to see more house tracks from you.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing house music coming back. I’ve been listening to it forever and going through school nobody knew what I was up to, dubstep was the big craze for some people at most but nobody knew about 90s Chicago house or acid house. I love tech house so much it’s great to see people back into this!
If you haven't noticed each genre cycle around through trends. Even clothing styles. Each genre has been appreciated by different type of listeners every day. Mainstream doesn't mean it's coming back.
@@toyonakaproductions3467 they did that in early house though. remember is was all 808s and 909s anyway and before everyone conformed to the standard off beat stuff early house had more interesting hat patterns, Like Jack your body by Steve Silk Hurley.
Crazy, I thought with you moving around Europe so often you’d be clued up on House, Techno etc. Here in the UK all they genres and sub genres are in our bloodstream
Went through the same experience two years ago and now I completely switched to producing house music. Innerbloom was one of the songs responsible for that haha
@@brknbuttn No nigga, I'm South African I know Amapiano. I was hoping he's talking about deep house. In the 90s there was a lot of deep house that sounds like "Innerbloom" coming from South Africa, and in the 2000s it slowly disappeared from the scene. Now I was hoping he'd give me examples of modern deep house from SA. We had Legends like DJ Oskido, DJ Fresh, DJ Sbu, Liquideep, Euphonik... just to name a few. Now all we have is Black Coffee.
@odiseven amapiano is under house as sub genre. It wasn't created in a vacuum. 'Amapiano is a relatively new and distinct genre of house music that emerged from South Africa in the early 2010s. The word “amapiano” loosely translates to “the pianos” in Zulu, and the genre is characterized by a fusion of deep house, jazz, kwaito, and afrobeat elements.'
Couldn't believe there was a producer in this world, that did not know what house music was. That too a professional. I was shocked the instant he said he had "no idea what house is" damn
You had to add those tiny hats😂 House is life there's so many sub genres of house and honestly all of them are awesome. *Sidenote, South Africans mastered house and are now House music kings and queens.
I mean making a house beat like Honestly, Nevermind is super easy. Atmospheric chords, 4 on the floor kick, minor melody (minor as in not the main focus not the key signature lol) OTHER house I have no clue how to make, this was fun to watch! Great video Ed
Overall its very simplistic . Nonetheless, Arrangement, Sound-Design and having a clean mix is were it's gets tricky and what separates the professional artists from hobby producers
Haha bless! I love your enthusiasm for this video! I’m genuinely surprised about you not knowing what house was (this isn’t a dig btw!) but I’m curious how many other people didn’t know about it! Great video and loved the history!! :)
Been watching you since the beginning bro, love how much you’ve grown as an artist and a content creator. Your improvement is growing with every video you put out! Don’t stop
The fact that drake appears on a thumbnail for a house music tutorial instead of frankie knuckles, paul johnson, armand van helden, marshall jefferson or kerri chandler makes me laugh and cry at the same time 😂😭 but on a more serious note bro i love your channel and i grew a lot as a music producer because of you !
I was worried you were to get a very mainstream misconception of what house music is but phoning a friend at the beginning to get some references was a brilliant idea. those are great tracks!
This is my absolute favorite video in all of RUclips ❤ I love your love for the creative process and journey. Thank you so much for such a massive effort in making this video and the sheer quality is just...wow
The second and third defining tracks are high in my favorite list, combined with your enthusiasm . Super nice . Subbed for sure . Peace from Amsterdam!
Man I appreciate you making videos about experiencing these genres becuz we all know the terms but not what they really sound like, the artists nowadays ain't making of a particular genre which makes it hard to differenciate
I don't really enjoy many production channels these days but yours is always top notch, I never miss a video. Great work Ed! you're very inspiring! God bless!
Great vid, a really easy way to make old school house is to use minor 7 chords and transpose these up and down the midi grid. Another is super syncopated piano stabs (especially with the KORG M1)
Anyone else find it odd that Ed doesn't know house? haha... excellent work there ma man! Next stop... Ed make some trance! haha... keep the same beat even.
Ed, that was great my guy. Love these videos where you dig into the history of music. Also, I agree with you. I’ve just started making House music and it’s definitely a fun experience. Thanks for sharing brother. 1
It's the easiest and yet, most complex genre! Base line is imperative! Then the chords! Then the Vocal Samples. Then, melody. Then the drums ( the Kick and high hats. A clap or two synthesized can elevate the beat)!
as every generation goes through it. I hear music I grew up with as "mall music" . lol Its painful as time is a real humbling thing. But also I am a youth at heart so I will be embarrassing my kids and wife in the stores just vibin! As always, Ed. GREAT JOB! 300k on the way!!!!
I'm a music producer, and most of the time I freelance, it's mainly on Fiverr. Bro! What you're going through now is what I go through almost every time I get a new random order. People contact me for songs whose genres I've never even heard of. Causing me to go on a journey of discovery. I get to experience the origins, to what's currently being made and the fringe style that might eventually evolve the genre even further. Amazing stuff every time, and that's how I grow musically. I've done over 60 Gigs and 5 stars all the way! 🙂

This turned out awesome! Glad to be a part of this :D

We’re all thinking the same thing rn lol I just made a whole house ep
Have you tried producing “amapiano” before?🤔
Would be really cool to see a series of you going through the different subgenres of house too! It’s a super diverse genre actually
If you ask me South African house is the future of house. I've been seeing it slowly make it to the forefront. It's the most unique and inventive imo
Share some examples

I really appreciate the deep dive(no pun intended) the extra bit of history was nice to get.
Now that you've made house music you should try some of the house sub genres! Like tropical House, future House, progressive house etc. 🤩
My man, please release this song! I love it so much!
Love this Ed! I’d love to see this kind of video continued as a series

As a Chicago House Head Growing Up, Welcome 2 Our World…
I Would Suggest DJ Casjmere & Dajae Uh Oh I Need (Brighter Days)…
I like how you explain what defines genres
Next up hardstyle!!!!
its instilled in our history i knew i always was born into that taste
innerbloom is literally my favorite song ❤️
Bro this my favourite of all your videos, Deep House is huge in South Africa!! Please make a deep house EP.
This is a certified bop. 10/10 would add to my house playlist
Another crackin' video! Never disappoints us!
Side chain kick to the melody is the ticket!!
House music is fire! Great tutorial
Yes. You SHOULD start making House
I think that sounds more like Deep House. House is a more big genre. Includes original chicago house, french house, acid house, tech house, etc.
as every generation goes through it. I hear music I grew up with as "mall music" . lol Its painful as time is a real humbling thing. But also I am a youth at heart so I will be embarrassing my kids and wife in the stores just vibin! As always, Ed. GREAT JOB!

Bro I love your videos. The time and effort you put into it is out of this world bro, keep it up👏👏👏
Growing up in South Africa house music was the mainstream sound, how I ended up doing hip hop… I have no idea. 😅
From Chicago & the Same.
Grew up in the Chi in the 80’s & 90’s but I’m a Rap Producer…🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️😂😂😂
House is Life Though, I Will Always B House.
Ed Talenti tries EDM . This is going to be fun.
House is probably the easiest genre to make, all you need a dirty bassline, great chord progressions and a low-end that moves your hips.
Ed, that was AmAzInG!!!
You are legend bro❤
Your videos are getting better every time, I love this format, you could try Hardstyle 🤯🤗
Damn you researched a lot on this genre man🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I tried my best in a short amount of time!
What a vibe 🔥🔥🔥
Please do more of House and other genres now. Drill and trap felt monotonous.
Someone should've introduced Ed to South African house
Just love ed's content🎉
