  • Chimaek is the combination of chicken and maekju which means beer and is a popular drinking food combination in Korea. Even though I love the Japanese combination of grilled chicken and beer, I enjoy the chimaek experience. And my friends told me that Kaya Chicken is the best spot in Tokyo.

Curses to google maps! My husband and I were desperately hangry one night in Shin Okubo, trying to find a highly recommended authentic Korean fried chicken place and google maps identified the location of Nondaimon (forgive the misspelling) as 'Goobne'. We walked upstairs and ate supremely average chicken in a crappy restaurant with surly service and an awful atmosphere, with our intended dinner joint apparently being a mirage located in a Murakami-esque alternate universe, spliced over Goobne's street address. Where in the HELL is Nandaimon?! Any google street view image that contradicts ours would be of great value. The restaurant you showcased in this video never came up on any searches on either google or tabelog. I'd love to have known about it and have seen this video prior to my last trip to Tokyo, as you so sensibly showed the street view-- which is always handy in a place like Tokyo where cool things are hidden upstairs (poorly signposted) in nondescript buildings, down tiny alley ways or down in basements. So many vloggers and bloggers overlook truly helpful things like good directions. Thanks dude. I've marked this joint for next time round! 🗾🐔😋👍

Hey Yakitori guy, hoping you make more cooking videos? I’ve watched all yours, been trying to make my own at home. I have a lot to learn. I’m an avid home cook, American BBQ, but this Yakitori is a whole new game!
