A thousand thanks to you my friend, just what I needed! It’s also nice to discover another one of us “older” game fans, as I’ll turn 68 this year. I rotate between Skyrim Fallout 4 & Starfield from time to time, often as much fun modding them as playing. I’ll be eagerly awaiting your next one. Your hard work is much appreciated.

You're never to old to game, my very first computer was a commodore 64 bought in my early 20s back in the early 80s my first console was the Atari 2600, I started heavy into PC gaming in the mid 90's starting with Ultima Online and am still playing today at the age of 65, a PC gamer.
SKK makes awesome mods I know of the mod you are speaking of and might give it a go, I am currently using Outpost Storage Capacity mod by OPTWood, which allows for unlimited storage in the transfer container. I for one do not like the noisy cargo ships so I try to use them as little as possible. What I did was to setup, an outpost on Decaran V!!-B and setup a trader mod at my outpost that allows me to sell the Vytinium at my outpost.
Setting up a manufacturing facility and selling fuel rods seems more immersive thanks for your video.

@@willny4 So Willy this is what I did, for each and every mineral, item, liquid, organic etc.... I went to each of these planets and placed down an outpost beacon along with extractors and mid sized container, once they were full I disbanded the outpost and went onto the next, rinse and repeat for each that I was needing, once I had everything I then went back to my main outpost and dumped everything in the unlimited transfer container. For the organic materials I used a mod that allowed me to only scan 3 of plant/animal on the planet and it would unlock the Fauna and floral for that material.

@@willny4 Well I am aware of this mod and also thanks for making a video explaining it in detail, I really like SKK's mods, I'm not ruling it out, I've been giving it very hard thought, if I decide to use it, I will then no longer need the unlimited Transfer container mod as it would then become redundant and or obsolete, as stated I'm rattling it around in my head. So far I've not run out of anything that I've gathered manually yet. On my next playthrough I'll throw it in.

Back in Fallout 4 they basically had this built in. I thought it was a terrible decision to omit it in Starfield, but wanted to keep my first playthrough vanilla, which I came to regret.
Years ago someone game journalist described inventory management as 'the great artificial extender of RPGs', and I feel like Bethesda took that as a manifesto in this game. The thing is, they've got a nice game hiding behind it so it's totally unnecessary.
Now I'm on my second playthrough, I think I've done my time with their inventory system, and I also hate big noisy cargo links! Cheers!

OK so Willny, I'm going to follow in your footsteps with a new playthrough on making these rods only I'm just still on the fence with using SKK's stash mod, I think I'm going to instead use increased cargo link storage, increased outpost storage containers along with unlimited transfer container, just seems more immersive to me. My scope right now is to create a home outpost with a water view and start up a small factory apposed to a large production. Find a planet with Helium-3, setup a hub sorta like a Costco "one stop shop" and have all materials going to that hub and have one outgoing to my home outpost, I'd just simply switch out to which ever material I needed at the time from my home outpost and if need be make use of my own custom build cargo ship.
Before I was just selling the resource Vytinium as a whole by itself and making a killing but I like the challenge of making the rods.
It's a shame that we've lost all of the "starUI" mods with our latest August patch "buggy", the mod author hasn't been active without any input since the end of last year and with the many patches and DLC's yet to come his mods are just going to continue falling behind, I had gotten so used to using them and now I'm/we're back to thumbing through this clumsy awkward menu that Bethesda bestowed upon us.

    • @willny4

I agree. Darkstar's outpost mods change the game and let the cargo link system really work. In my new builds, in which I am making all the prdoducts centrally, I will only use Universal Stash to monitor production on the 24 sites supplying materials. I am using 4 CLs at Sirius 1 to collect since it has He3 and 100 hours to 1 UT/LT ratio. Then sending to Charybdis V also 100 to 1 for final assembly. Will post a video within the next few days.

Will...amazing stuff here (yeah, there's a but coming). Probably something I missed when following along.
I'm having a problem with the Universal Stash mod... Everything looked great up until the first time I tried to "gather" the resources from the various outposts.
It doesn't seem to be consolidating from the multiple outposts...only the one I'm sitting at. It's still a pretty cool way of getting things done, but in trying to follow your automation/earning while you sleep methodology I'm failing.
I've been Googling/Binging for answers...but can't seem to get the settings correct settings.
    Help? Please?

Awesoms vid. Many thanks. I've downloaded the B.A.S.E and Darkstar mod on pc but cant seem to get them to work. Used Mod Manager 2. Both require plugins.txt enabler which is now pointless due to the june 9th update. Any thoughts? Also, do you have to use creations to get them to work?

BASE has not been updated to work on Creations. I think it stll needs SFSE and Plugins.txt. Darkstar mods have been updated to work in both systems. However, I think mixing some Nexus mods and Creations mods causes unfixable problems. This factory, for example, now crashes in build mode. In my latest video I explain what happened and what I've had to do. In a new video, coming soon, I rebuild this factory with the latest tools.

Thought I posted this before...if you see this twice, my apologies.
In minute 5 of your video, you talk about not being able to link the Universal Stash to any fabricators or other storage devices BUT you said something about a cool way of being able to do that...but I'm not sure what that is.
As it stands, I have 18 outposts now, without ANY Cargo Links. I'm just using the "Universal Stash" technology you teach us about. I am collecting the 10 components needed to make Vytinium Fuel Rods at one of those outposts.
To feed my little factory that spits out VFRs - I'm manually pulling from the Universal Stash and dumping about 7K units of each material into a single 75K Universal Storage can, then shooting it out to the Sorters, Interim Storage Containers, Fabricators to the point where I'm consolidating the VFRs before connecting them to a Seller, that drops 30K cred sticks into the Galbank like container...then selling them via a local Trade Authority Kiosk. Have bumped my "bank" north of 3 million credits...so have all I really need BUT...
Was wondering if there's any way to wring any more automation out of this...either at the process step where I'm pulling from the Universal Stash OR when picking up cred sticks from the Galbank "container."
In my pre-retirement life I spend more than a couple of years working in process improvement using the LEAN Six Sigma process improvement methodology. I like where you're going when you say in one of your next videos that you're going to approach this from a standpoint of scarcity. I think there's something there...really! When things become TOO easy - it's like trying to play multi-player Call of Duty with a bunch of kids who never did any "fire and manuever" or time in the military. Soldiers don't RUN everywhere they go...or they wind up dying tired. 😜

I can't tell whether or not you are using the Outpost Production collectors to consolidate production. That system is what I was referring to. I don't know of any other way to link US to fabricaors. You could make a ton of Zero Wire on Skink or Denebola I-b if you could find an overlapping Biome and link them to US. That would save a step.
The key for me is to take advantage of the Universal/local time ratios. See my video ruclips.net/video/oMoG2VWrASc/видео.html to see the loacations that will give you the highest production. Using US with my planet map, sleep 4 hours, and you will have a fortune but you must set up where you have the 100 to 1. Charybdis V or Katydid I where you can locally mine needed resources. Let me know how it works

@@willny4 sorry I was slow getting back to you. Yes, I was using the Outpost Production Collectors to fill up the Universal Stash and share it across my outposts.
Was trying to take things to the next step using the Universal Stash/Outpost Production Collectors to the next level, but don't see a way to do it.
Think I'll go back to using the Cargo Links for targeted goods and then use the Universal Stash for those common items you just never seem to have on hand when you need them.
You've really got my mind racing with this stuff AND am really thinking about pulling my LEAN Six Sigma books off the shelf to see if they might be useful. (I know they will, but that almost seems like work to me.)
