- Hi all,
I decided to do a comparison against the Gamesir G7 SE and the 8BitDo Ultimate. Both are great hall effect stick options for the Xbox and PC. For you steam deck users, The Gamesir G7 SE is all a nice option for docked gameplay.
The Gamesir G7 SE is currently $44.99 while the 8BitDo Ultimate is $69.99.

Didn't expect to hear a history lesson during a gamepad review, but interesting to know nonetheless. Good video brother, keep going strong!
Enjoed the review, keep up the good work and sponsors will come knocking!
Thanks for the review and the information. Keep creating, those sponsors aren’t far off.
Thanks for the review. Really hard to find these now a days.
Throwing a sub right now. Would love to see the science experiment of transplanting the G7 buttons into the G7 SE
definitely considering these
Great review. Don't worry you'll get sponsored soon
Hope u get sponsored soon
Thanks for the review, been looking around and wanting to see different opinions and angles.
My opinion is that G7 SE (or rather, it's better version, the T4 Kaleid) is way better that the 8Bitdo Ult Bluetooth, I have the 3 of them, much more precise for FPS. 2nd in rank is G7 SE which is almost the same as T4 Kaleid
@@blorbb5398 Just found out regarding T4 Kaleid, the only missing is the xbox licensed stuff. But the function is 100% the same yeah? Especially the trigger rumble, or game detection in PC.
Really interested to buy one now though
I think this more or less comes down to platform of choice. G7 for Xbox and PC use and 8bit for Switch. Now all we need is a hall controller with PlayStation compatibility.
you will soon with the pro controller. I hear there will be a 3rd party hall effect replacement for the ps pro controller.
TYVM for this comparison. I've just had a third controller get drift on my xbox and was looking for options (only hall effect for me from on). But Im also very sensitive to mushy buttons.
Perhaps one day we will get the perfect controller with hall effect sticks AND full microswitch buttons, but for now I'll go for the /bitdo ultimate wired xbox one
I think by now they have made the kaleid for Xbox which is a somewhat hybrid between the G7 and G7 SEs with the buttons being changed from mushy to mechanical or something like that
This is my first time hearing of the magnet shortage issue... very interesting
well, since it's not an issue anymore, then manufacturers should be able to go in on the hall effect market
edit: you have me sold when you mention your plan of making a scientific experiment out of this controller and the standard G7. I'm definitely looking forward to a G7 with both the clickyness of the original and the hall-effect thumbsticks of the SE
I would love G7 SE if it was wireless
The ultimate controller also works on linux and android.
Honestly, I’ve got the game, sir and the new turtle beach. I paid for both of them and for $45. The game is pretty good but the turtle Beach is way better.
Magnet shortage? Or use the potentiometer because they break faster making you buy more? I will never buy another that isn't magnetic
My g buy a graphics card. You can get 4 times the performance if you doend 120$ for 5700xt or 170-180$ for rx6600..outrageous difference. Worth the difference you will get
I got the G7 se today used it 3 hours on cod make sure you mess with the diagnostics app the sticks are hyper sensitive tune them how you want, (took some getting used to) triggers have a bit to much travel for me prefer the gambit, and the G7 is SMALL my hands drown it , but it cost fuck all basically pretty solid
Spent more on one single firework than the controller lol it's worth a go 👍
Would you say the buttons are quiet for the G7 m. I’m trying to avoid controller with too much clicky noise .
The buttons are clicky but not that loud. Compared to a Xbox series controller they are less audible.
Come here for controller test and he testing on roblox 😂🤦🏾♂️
Hey bro, does connection issue be solved on 8bitdo ultilmate?
To be honest, I haven't checked in a while for an update to firmware, and I've been using it more on my steam deck lately vs my gaming pc.
how the dpad for fighting games g7 se
Really good actually. Took me about a day to "break it in" and adjust to it. Feels a little too smooth sometimes but it's easy to adjust.
I do not really know which one to get, the Gamesir looks amazing, but the fact it's wired is really annoying
It has a 15ft cable if that helps the decision any.
Blame Microsoft. They don't allow third party controllers to have wireless capability. They want you to buy first party controllers and replace them every six months, just like Sony and Nintendo.
@@dohnjoe9211that's not true lol. They do allow 3rd party wireless controllers, they just charge a large fee and most OEMs aren't willing to pay it
@jamesjames7601 well, I didn't know that. However, charging prohibitively large fees to maintain exclusivity for wireless connectivity is effectively the same thing.
@@dohnjoe9211 if you say so lol
Please buy a better mic.
