My Bayonetta 2 VS Bayonetta 3 Experience

- both of these are on Infinite Climax, and from a very average player, honestly looking back at Bayo2's makes Bayo3 look like a saint💀
that being said, there's just as much bs on Bayo3 as Bayo2 with Infinite Climax, so they even out to be equal...
which one seems more appealing and fun to you though?
If only 3's plot was as good as the gameplay.
I believe the plot for Bayo3 is actually really interesting on paper, but the execution wasnt quite what I thought it was gonna be.
On the initial gameplay reveal, I thought the Homunculi were going to just be the human equivalent of Angels/Demons that appeared due to Bayonetta erasing the eyes, in the final game, it's still interesting how unknown and savage they are.
But I think it fell completely flat with the final boss, he happened and that was it, not even any hyped up sin summon of Sheba or anything!!
The multiverse idea is really neat aswell, I was hoping to see neat dances and interactions with Bayos and Viola, like how would Bayo have reacted to knowing shes an actual mom in a different world?!
Or just more dialogue between the Bayos, instead the game is very quiet in cutscenes with em:(
I still enjoyed the story, it was fun to see Bayo have more of the Bayo1 flare again instead of the dryness Bayo2 had with most of its cutscenes!

@@numbrerotime6683 I agree with many parts, however the main thing that bugs me is the idea of Viola becoming an important character if not the MC of the future of the series. The Multiverse had some good ideas but I feel like all Arch-Eves just dying and how all of them felt very un-impactful.
The lack of mentions of Lumen Sages, Eyes of the World, and all the other plotholes really do ruin it for me tbh.

I'm also not a big fan of Faeries, like suddenly this random journalist man who was there for mostly comedic effect is suddenly a werewolf? The faeries appeared out of nowhere and are a crucial element of the Bayonetta Universe.
And they did both Bayo, Jeanne and Luka so dirty at the end 💀
@@len1767 i mostly agree, the whole saturday morning cartoon villain every time did run its course by the france chapters for me, but then it ended with a banger so i didnt mind, just wish they had more character to em..
The faeries i just didnt really understand, i thought more was gonna come from lukaon but nah thats for the 60$ spinoff!!
I thought werewolf luka was good because of the bossfights, theyre one of the most fun, fast action fights that havent felt cheap and unfair!
Now, personally i dont care about the ending, my view with the game was "3 games in, heres the ending!"
I liked the dance and music too much to care about the dying, and as i seen it, its a different universe(or may not be who knows) and so its all pointless anyways, jeannes death was strange though, not cuz she died, but because it just happens...
Theres a cut chapter for her to build up to her death so we already know there was meant to be more🤷♂️
3, at least in 3 you don’t need witch time to do the bare minimum to some enemies

@@12345678abracadabra because the witch time doesn’t scale with how many frames you dodged in 2,it scales with enemy damage and the bigger the damage the lower the witch time for some reason and it really doesn’t help that some of the enemies are on crack so the only time you can damage them is with witch time
@@12345678abracadabra They gutted Witch time in 2 and damage is very low on alot of weapons forcing you to overly rely on Umbran Climax.
I honestly prefer bayo 2 I think while the demon slave is a very fun mechanic it requires that all verses be fought in huge open fields where its hard to see all of your enemies and hard to actually travel TO them in time to keep up the combo (which imo is like the whole fun/point of the fights)

I agree to a certain extent, Bayo3 tries to give bayo more options to fling herself to enemies, but the way umbran spear works now doesnt really help as much as the old one :(
Heck, umbran spear on Scarborough Fair in 3 is the best one to actually get to an enemy far away!
I find it unfortunate that they gave her all these new travel options, but nerfed the spear and didnt give her any better weapons to pull enemies in... besides demon slave ofc
I also dislike Bayo3's combo score system, cuz now I cant have insanely high scores if I'm good at the game cuz it just caps at specific points for every verse:(
@@numbrerotime6683 I completely agree and I dont even have Scarborough fair cause it requires you have a previous bayo save file (which i dont have on my switch)
3 has more diversity and fun but i like the flow of combat more in 2.

I'm not the best Bayonetta player, but I have definitely spent enough time on both Bayo2 and 3 to decide that I prefer 3!
I like both equally but don't like the short witch time of bayo2
No sleight against Bayo 3, but I found that the staple guns for that game were a tiny bit slow? Kinda sad that the original guns didn't count for the standard of the game. But then again... both games so far, even 1, had some amount of guns that topped the original. For Bayo 1, the handguns, for Bayo 2, Scarborough Fair, for Bayo 3, either guns, excluding the Handguns.
Yeah the moves for it are quite slow, i still like Color My World just for the animations, they make everything so neat!
I think the reason why theyre slow is to make it easier for DemonSlave combos, so you can summon a demon and get quick hits while bayo charges up her own move etcetc
bayo 2s gameplay is so much better

Demon Slave, masquerades and the weapons make Bayo 3 top Bayo 2 for me. I do prefer enemy tracking and lock-on in 2 though.
What hurt 2 for me was the big fuck-off button prompt that appears every time Umbran Climax is available. So annoying and feels like the game is forcing me to play a certain way.

Yeah thats the nintendo switch recording:( anytime Moonlight Serenade plays(which is nearly every fight!!)
It disables the audio in the fight, its annoying and im gonna try adding audio next time!

3 was awesome I loved the very most part of it.
Except the missions "Defeat all enemies, life force × digit number, strong wind with the fog-wall behind you" these suck
I like that everyone has a different favorite of the 3.
I guess I'm just too casual to highlight every detail that is missing/executed poorly.
I'm not that invested in any games, but if you have fun with it, do it
Bayonetta 2 is still the height of the series. Bayonetta 3 is fine but doesnt feel as refined as 2.
If only Bayo 2 didn’t ruin the Bayo 1’s gameplay and enemy design it would be the perfect bayo
I love Bayo 3’s combat more but compared to 1 and 2 enemies are way too slow, areas are hugw enemies are all over to place
When u refuse to use the full power like umbra climax against big target that are not meant to be stagger easily in 2 then U fight little targetin 3 to compare? Then in 3 I used giant demon to stun the big ones. It only fair to say the demon summoning offer more option in 3 than in 2.
I cant quite understand well but this wasnt really a comparison of which game is better, only my experience with em.
I never liked using Umbran Climax in Bayo2, it didnt actually feel like an extension of Bayos combat because if I use it, it takes priority over all of her others moves(torture attacks, tetsus and heel stomps etc)
I believe I fought fairly with both mobs anyways, both were on Infinite Climax and both are relatively similar in size, but in Bayo2 they just dont stagger or get flung at all, just constant attacks!
I actually gave Bayo2 more of a fair chance by fighting a Giant enemy in Bayo3, something most players find super boring as they dont really flinch much and are giant health pools!
Ive found DemonSlave to be a very good extension to combat, because now I can do everything I wanted as Bayo in 2 and actually dish out damage and stun opponents!
