-What meeting?
Fox, I seem to remember firing you.
You did. I got another job. Yours.
On whose authority?
Bruce Wayne.
What makes you think you can decide who's running Wayne Enterprises?
The fact that I'm the owner.
What are you talking about? The company went public a week ago.
And I bought most of the shares. Through various charitable foundations
and trusts and so forth. Look, it's all a bit technical, but the important thing...is that my company's future
is secure. Right, Mr. Fox?

every person should enjoy a "f-k you very much" moment in at least one of the companies they have to work for in life.
the whole thing is so very funny, because they both just playback exact words back to the man
That was an industrial sized F.U.! Subtle but straight to the heart. 😈😈😈😈😁
The Patrick Bateman vibes when he's talking down to him is amazing 😂🤌

I can't imagine how the CEO wouldn't know he's been ousted until he walks in the room. Wouldn't he know who bought the shares?
@@Shane-un8pe That's explained in the scene: "...various charitable foundations and trusts." This seems to be confirmed with the next line Bruce throws back at him: "Look, it's all a bit technical..." which we are to presume means much sneakiness occurred to facilitate the transaction.
I believe dude was also under the impression that Wayne's finances were in such a state that he wouldn't be able to buy majority outright.
Post Script: I meant to end with, "Beyond that it's a comic-book movie, and suspension of disbelief is required."
@@Shane-un8pe Like Lucius said. He defiantly saw the charties bought pieces of the company. He didn't think much of it. It really is an ingenious way to keep the company in your hold.
@@AtlasJotun nah, the "its all a bit technical" is a fire back to when the asshole CEO was treating Bruce like he was a moron and said that line to him, nothing about sneaky. Its just Bruce being vindicative towards the ass-hat.
@@Darklarik3 Yes, that's why they wrote it into the script. And yes, I know it's a callback, not a "fire back", which is why I stated as much in the original reply. Again, it's a comic-book movie. Heavy on the 'poetic justice'.
What makes you think you can run Wayne enterprises? Bruce: the fact that my name is literally the company name lol.

Stay Strong in the other side, Rutgers Hauer. You were a prolific accomplished actor & it was great to see you as part of a Batman film.
The best little detail about the scene to me is that small smirk Earle has when Bruce says the "My company's future is secure" line. I like to think there's tiny speck of respect in that smirk, as he thinks to himself "That clever little shit."

lol and then he pisses that companies money away on some really cool expensive gadgets that honestly wouldn't generate any money so it most likely would have to be reported as a loss and MUST be reported to the SEC because they are, as mentioned in this clip, a publicly traded company... UNLESS... he SELLS those cool gadgets... weapons, surveillance tools...tanks... super soldier suits... tech that helps you evade the law... but yah totally! You could definitely make a difference! :D.
@@jungsa4691 Why not? The Batman tech can be sold separately, for and to law enforcement's and militaries. His high tech echolocation from the next film? IED finding equipment. His mechanical brace from the third? Bought by the military to help rehabilitate wounded veterans. His form making cape? Instant tents for field soldiers. There's more, and you have to use your imagination a bit, but it's not impossible, and any extras, like another Rumbler tank, could be bough using his own billions, through proxies, and fake shell companies.

@@jungsa4691 or it's a research and development write off. When the IRS comes knocking just show them all the busted up equipment and tell them the stuff didn't make the cut. Happens all the time with high tech companies.
@@FalonGrey Except none of those things actually ever happened. Batman didn't sell the tech to any other party, until Bane came along and stole it from him and tipped the balance of power massively against the police and armed forces. Tbf, they did show that Wayne Ent was losing money and did go bankrupt after one discontinued project which I'm sure was a result of all the years of spending, but it always felt to me like Batman had planned to give it all away for free once he retired. I doubt he'd be play the Tony Stark card here and ever "sell" his tech. He was never a (good) capitalist.
It also makes me think, why didn't Bane oust Bruce Wayne as Batman. He was the city's greatest protector, kept cutting edge tech seemingly away from the hands of the law and military and inadvertently put the city at risk. Bane could have easily made it look like Wayne was a gold hoarder without a real care for the city's people. Talia could have still had her revenge, but in a much more methodical and complete manner.
Never realized I had a moment like this until a guy I used to work with said, "How does being like Bruce Wayne feel?". He told me to watch this movie and this exact moment was 1 for 1. I even used the same words that the boss used on me as did the guy he sacked I gave his position to.
