I want to do this ! , I have a 40 gallon barrel and I've been thinking about setting it up as I have some Goldfish/Feeder fish in a seasonal pond and one in my tank inside . Been thinking about a sponge and hang on back filter pump.
I am going to do that for my 2 comet goldfish that are growing so fast! I ve been searching for a 40 glass aquarium but they are too expensive. so i will go this route and they will live in my kitchen :)
C&L Fish Corner it was really odd timing. The fish will definitely make it as goldfish are supper tolerant of cold and it doesn’t get nearly cold enough for water to freeze where I live
Phi try soaking marshmallows in Appel juice. The raccoons will eat the marshmallows but will get their hands all sticky (which raccoons hate) and they will eventually get so annoyed they don’t come back
Do you have any idea how big comet goldfish get? They need 80 gallons. A forty gallon tub could hold 3 fancy goldfish, but definitely not a single comet.
Looks good here. If you want to be pedantic, it's mathematically true the sum of all of those components is strictly less than $70, so his math is fine. That and I'd argue rounding down (e.g. 12 to 10 in his case) is more practical in most situations since you can focus on the big picture instead of getting bogged down in irrelevant details, so there's no need to be irked by a helpful video concerning a topic you're clearly also interested in :)
thats an awesome build. I just subscribed. check out my pond on my channel cheers
I'm going to do this for my 2 comets and add some other small fish
Nice looking pond
Great vid btw!
Pathos can be posions for fish. If they nible the roots.
As far as I know - from my research, Pothos roots are safe
@@ChewysBro is also says keep it away from dogs and cats because if they eat it they can get really sick. Same goes for the fish
What filter did you put? You didn’t show it how it looks like . How did you do the plugging?

Oh how cool I want one
Seems like an odd time of year to be setting up outdoor pond in December, hope the fishies make it through the winter

Wouldn’t the fish jump out
Possibly
@@ChewysBro LMAO 😂 Well, certainly can't argue with that.
a common goldfish needs 30 gallons for a single fish....
Usually that’s for a grown goldfish, because these were small they could be in a smaller tank size until they out grow it
A common goldfish should just be happy he’s not fish food 😂
Good ver y good
How can you pay for all your tanks and how do your parents let you have that many tanks?
I just do side jobs for money and my parents are fine with the tanks as long as they look good (not ugly and dirty)
Hey thanks, and keep up the great vids, you are inspiring and have incredible knowledge of the hobby!
Um what side jobs do you do I’m looking t do the same with building a mini pond
Hey umm so how do you keep it from freezing in the winter and what is the pump/water feature you use
It doesn’t freeze where I live and the pump is just a Standard pond filter fountain
Gave you a sub
I don’t get the point of this. The plants are nice but you can’t really watch ur fish.
What do you mean you can’t watch the fish?
goldfish are colorful and can be seen from the top of the pond, looking down. that's why koi fish are so popular in ponds, instead of bass fish.
So cool!
Is a pump different than a filter?
yes, you would want both. The filter attaches to the pump.
Great job👍👍
Should put a pond light on the bottom gravel
Chris Schamahorn I’m looking into getting some waterproof multi color battery powered lights
Where did yo get the filter/fountain?
ButterBench FB I think amazon
Can you tell me how to get rid of the raccoons? I’m having problems with them coming to my house...
Phi try soaking marshmallows in Appel juice. The raccoons will eat the marshmallows but will get their hands all sticky (which raccoons hate) and they will eventually get so annoyed they don’t come back
Bryce Smith that’s also illegal
Bryce Smith for sure
Bryce Smith yup

Madison Erickson it takes about 10 years to get that big chill
The Goldfish Gamer I know it's late but that's not true a comet gets about half it size less than a year.
We just eat the fish when they get too big, and put in smaller ones to grow up again.
Works just fine.
Need to work on your math not a pond
Maclain Hardwick judging on your videos, you need to work on learning how to film horizontal, rather than trying to correct someone’s math...

Also because videos are better with a title like "under $70" instead of "under $73.45"
