As i get older i appriciate these relaxed bikes a lot more than the track racer wannabes. kudos to tvs for making such a uniqe yet stylish and practicle bike.
They're not wannabes. They're replicas. Different people have different preferences
Matured bikers will not like this look. Looks confused and mismash of parts , nothing feels coherent
Looks like someone has never dragged knees while leaning on a corner. I mean if you're a sedate rider, a race replica doesn't make sense. But don't bash on them just because you can't exploit the bike's potential.

I guess you are confused to try to compare this to existing bikes. But personally it is an Indian designed touring bike where anybodys mom can hop on for a short ride without fear. (Come guys if ninja 300 is a touring machine, why there isn't a simple grab rail). The bike looks neat and well thought. The protective mud guard , newly designed chain cover are very thoughtful for Indian road conditions. Minimalistic Speedometer with lot of features, and an USD is also new. I guess new things are always confusing for reviewers until they are named.
Starting price seems to be decent. Initial impressions are very good.
It all comes down to real world performance.
It is definitely a confused bike:
+The rake angle, foot peg position and thick chain cover look like a cruiser.
+ The rear section, tires look like a scrambler. But you can't do much off roading due to foot peg position.
+ The mid section look like roadster.
Even TVS says it does not belong to any category (hence the Ronin name) but by trying to be everything it ends up with a very confused identity.

The Radeon and Bajaj Avenger had a mutant of a baby. Still looks like something you can go touring on.
When life gives you Ronins, go for a ride.
I love the analogy at the end with " when life gives you lemons .."
I liked the bike!!! An affordable option for people who want an affordable cruiser, plus the well thought of chain cover and saree guard designs, and the seat height. Everything according to usage on Indian Roads! And come on, how many times do we see the speedometer while riding a bike??? The given speedo console is just enough and it adds a bit of subtlety to the design!!! Overall it is a well designed bike!
For the first time, the Sari guard doesn't look ugly on a motorcycle.
TVS is in a league of it's own now. They are setting the benchmark for a new bike

This is an amazing attempt by TVS. Seems comfortable, has style, enough power for a road trip, is agile and has a modern engine unlike RE bikes and isn't as heavy as dominar. Seems like a decent tourer.
Modern engine unlike RE ? . Bro 650 twin and the new 350cc j series engines are benchmark in their category. Bro Get out of the stone age era..UCE days are long gone. !
@@nismostrada9433 Agreed.. the new J-series RE engines are leaps ahead of what the older UCE were. Plus the 650cc twin (i own one) is a gem indeed.

@@nismostrada9433 the 350cc engine has been updated only very recently. RE bullet still has the old engine and it costs an expensive 1.7 Lakh, probably 1.85 on road. lol, the engines are the benchmark in their category only cause there is nothing else out there in the market. if the engines were really that good? why were the 500 cc variants discontinued? both classic and thunderbird. Cuz everyone knows people buy RE for the look and feel and not for the engine so 500cc is indeed a waste of money. I agree the 650 cc is amazing, but it is in a whole different segment. And RE bikes are definitely not known for their agility.
@@jairajputana938 so a “new” engine should have more power and torque? Many vehicles categories keep the net output more or less unchanged, what companies work on is refinement, reliability, electronic, etc. That’s modern enough for many people.

Okay, it may be a shot in the dark but the way TVS has tried to design this bike I think this is not the end... I think we may get to see higher CCs in this bike in the future.
TVS needs a scrambler and adv with the RR310 engine...
Ronin is for urban purposes and slow driving tourers

Bike looks great although I would prefer a single tone solid colour in the top-end model & watched few other videos but I guess you were the only one who mentioned the meaning of Ronin... reminds me of the Robert De Niro movie too...👍🏻
Will it be difficult to adjust the meter. From my opinion there's a bit space between meter and the headlight
Good job by TVS, a new segment is created.. i am also looking forward 150 - 180 cc cruiser with liquid cooling.. Bajaj can be pitching in soon..
The presence of service centre and this bike wil surely attract 30 to 40 aged people easily... i just need to see mileage reports
What's the difference in belt drive ,is it more reliable and durable than chain drive system?
I cannot help but see a tinge of Triumph Bonneville Street Twin looking from the side and I really like it. The seat could have been a little lower like the bonneville though.

Zappein may come later sometime this year or next year. They are not going to scrap the idea , in Indian market retro, scrambler bikes are in demand now, that's why TVS went for this. I hope TVS will release Zappein later in Cruiser segment, maybe with more powerful engine 🤞
It has been over 5 years since I rode a bike. Now I plan to ride again but I am confused between various genres. I guess for that reason, the design here looks different/odd/awkward to many, but I can relate with the appeal and might actually go for it.
I have been using ronin as a gaming name since i was in class 7th. Its been 12 years now and now that i have a job! Looks like this will be my first bike!

Nice bike review.
Let me give some ownership opinion.
Bought bike 8 days back & has already measured 650+Kms.
Pro's:
1. Amazing pickup due to peak power at lower rpm
2. Suspension looks great works even better. Small potholes will not be considered by this bike.
3. Braking is sharp.
4. Design from front is super cool
5. Complete LED set up is nice
6. Ground clearance of 180mm
Con's
1. Turing radius is not user friendly add on with its weight of 160Kgs, sometimes it feels too much of trouble in city conditions
2. Design from back is not soothing to eye (get a backrest modification)
Over all 8/10 Rating.

It's good but I liked the concept bike better with rectangular front and box shaped tank. They could've taken off the camera, hybrid system, belt drive and kept the rest of it the same

1. Rear wheel got 19inch instead 17inch
2. Rear grab rail reshaping
3. Compact chain cover
4. Ensure that no water spitting at rear during rain
The styling looks a bit odd especially from some corners but since it's a scrambler so can be modified acc to taste

In a few ways it looks good and new but overall looks rather assymetrical with the mix of a lot of design elements
The tail section of the Ronin looks similar to the Suzuki Intruder 150 😅

This feels more like a Husqvarna then a Bajaj. Which is good and I would prefer this over the new FZ series.
Because even if it is in the pricey side it has duel channel.
Even FZ25 has dual channel

Ronin is more like a cafe racer type rather than a cruiser. Cruiser has a footrest more at front but Ronin has it more at the back, which is he character of a classic cafe racer.
I know that the original version always looks different from the concept but really disappointed that this original version is not so appealing to the eyes where the concept of this bike was extremely outstanding 🙄

I can totally see people modifying the bike to look more like a scrambler. The ground clearance and middle section makes it already look like one
They can make an adventure/off-road bike with long travel suspension with this same engine because it have good amount of low end torque can easily climb hills in 2nd gear & It can give a good competition for Hero Xpulse 200 4v.

@@akshayreddy1496 the dakar bikes are made by sherco not the tvs, tvs just gives money to put a india guy on it.
i think this competes with classic 350 or other royal enfield bikes. I find this bike a more compelling package where it looks amazing and there is no fear about quality. I personally can never consider re as a daily driver.

I have done a test drive of TVS Ronin, I have found there is a Gearbox issue, let me know if you faced an issue in regards with Gearbox.

Dude when I first saw its release I didn't like it either wanted rtr special edition so badly. But accidentally tested this cuz rtr wasn't present and i loved it. Getting it soon. Trust me and go test it.
Can anyone suggest good adventure bike like xpulse. I have been looking for good adventure / off road bike since long. Was confused between himalayan and xpulse but both of them had some issues. With xpulse it's quite under power and with himalayan riding and maintenance issue.
Do anyone know bike which is similar to xpulse but more powerful.
Front fender and headlights could have been positioned much higher to give a better look

Totally. Remove rear fender and grab rail, have a tyre hugger will make it look like mini Ducati Scrambler.
But that'll cause a burst of splashes on the rear end 🙁

Few questions before the real world ride review: 1. Please compare the suspension setup with Apache 2004v.
2. Will it work with green fuel/ ethanol?
3. Please throw some light on Tour Mode.

Xpulse have similar engine but it's way cheaper than Ronin.
In India people are not that crazy about the type of the bike rather the looks and value for money.
Though the comparison between xpulse and ronin may look odd, but people might go for Xpulse if they are looking for a cruiser with 20 hp power.
It's like Bajaj vikrant that's how feel from this bike vibe
have bought this motorcycle in March 2024. The rear brake foot lever should have been slightly outside. It's too much inside as compared to the width of the tank.
Also, the access to the monoshock absorber should have been easier. I do not understand why the adjuster grooves have been kept at the top. I have softened the monoshock. Surprisingly, the Jacky TVS Service Centre at Raghuvanshi Mill Compound, Mumbai 400013 did not know how to do it! It was a horrible ill-ventilated service centre.
I have slightly adjusted the handlebar backwards, more towards me. It has made the riding and balancing much much better. It has even made the handling of the bike at standstill much easier.
However, the sockets of the rear-view mirrors are too shallow and do not allow the mirror to swivel much. Very soon, I will be replacing them with simple rear view mirrors.
If I buy this bike ..I wud like to change the handle bar with Ace handle bar , complete wrapped out with stealth black colour ,i remove the passenger tail guard to look like more premium but we caught by the sound 🥲

and a speedo indicated top speed of 150 kmph
The aesthetics is a very Indian design and beautiful.

I think tvs could have designed the headlamp better,the LED T logo is too big they could have just outlined it.The cone shaped head light doesn't match the neo retro design.The honda hness head light design looks the best.
TVS rightly maintaing its spot.Any bike more than 100KMPH is not safe and not needed if goes beyond 120KMPH.
But still people are falling for other brands marketing on high speed for higher cc engines especially 350cc or higher which neither needed for our roads and nor rider
People might consider installing these mirrors on hunter 👀

Seems like front part is designed in south India and back part in North India that too worked in Lockdowns.

*Just change the tank, handlebar and throw out the instrument console and you'll be able to add some aesthetics back to the bike*
TVS did a good thing by not launching Zeplin. It looked like Diavel copy.
