This is the only cleansing agent that does not leave residue in my locs. I've tried others for loc shampoos and they all require conditioner after which causes the residue and scum that dull and dry my locs out. With this, I don't even use conditioner and I've been good 20 yrs and counting but I no longer use the peppermint. As I aged and had surgeries etc my scalp doesn't need the peppermint. I use the rose or citrus instead and and it's so good. My locs were at my knees again and I just recently cut them to my low back. I do this every few years. And yes, a little goes a long way. 🎉🎉🎉
As you said, "a little goes a long way " and I think that's what most of the problem is for some people who use it and have bad results. You definitely need to rinse well, which should go without saying.
I appreciate this so much! People swear by this stuff and I used it on my last set of locs. I noticed such a difference with this new set. They are much softer. And it’s so strong. I actually caused irritation on my skin!
My dear I have no problem with this product. I have been using this product for many years and my locks journey is fine and dandy. What you need to understand that, it is not all proudcts that may not agree with everyone especially those who have locks like yourself.. In small terms what may benifit you or I may not benifit someone else. Wake up and rise qween...
Works wonderfully for me. We have a water softener on the house, so that helps. I dilute it well and add some essential oils. My locs love it x two years. I have tried other shampoos, even those made for locs , and I always circle back to this . Everyone is different I guess. People LOVE Trader Joe’s shampoo in the Loc community. My hair gives it the side eye no matter how I use it. And it caused build up on my son’s locs.
@@bananabread2833 theres a whole damn book on the bottle its easy to miss😂. that was one thing i read. i was thinking about buying it and i feel like that could be one issue a lot of people are having. no problem hope that works 🙏🏽
Dr Bronner’s Castile soap never gave me an issue when I had my first set of loc. Now with my 2nd set I just use African black soap. Both worked wonderfully for me 🤷🏽♀️.
Yea I bought this bc of the loc community, but even with it being very diluted, it stays on my scalp, I dnt think ots good for my very kinky coily(4c-d) I had to stoppp.
This made the hair follicles that naturally shed but are caught in the locs stand out even more. Not with all clients but with two of them. And I'll never chance it again.
Omg so glad to see this . O was so confused beacuse it seems everyone one uses it. But i do have hard water and i dont dilute it enough i bet. Thankyou
I been using this n wondering why my locs never feel clean. They always feel weird to the touch after washing n I think this explains why. Any tips on how to remove soap scum from locs?
Yep! It's natural all-purpose soap that is shampoo, body wash, and laundry detergent. I've been using it for years.
Same I’ve been using the soap in my hair is turning out great.

Yea, I think she's reaching a bit. 😅
i think it’s supposed to be diluted that might be the issue idk. i use fro butter shampoo and emu oil but idk if they sell the shampoo anymore 😩
Yeah I definitely am here because I have residue buildup after using dr. Bronners lavender 😢 so basically I need to dilute it more .

I see that people have different experiences with this. For me, it leaves a weird film on my locs and on my skin.
did you dilute it?
@@RJ-mh3ox No, I didn't. Thanks, that may be the problem. I'll try that.

I used it ONCE and it left so much gunk in my hair i jad to rewash it out
My scalp was suffering for weeks after using this one time.

I dilute it 1:3 and add tea tree oil. Seems ok so far.

lol i do a detox and wash out with plain dawn
I'm not using anything on my locs that you can use to clean the floor with. It's Free The Roots or Avalon Organics if I don't have any bars left
Girly try doing your research because I’ve been using this soap for years and my hair turned out great ty
I’m happy to hear it works for you!
Facts 💚
I used this for years before I realized it dried my locs. It’s such a refreshing soap but it wasn’t the best for MY skin either.
This absolutely did NOT work out for my scalp & my sisterlocks
What about African black soap?
What kind of shampoo do we use with this? I couldn’t catch it
Chelating shampoo
The damage it done at this point i just need to know how to remove this film somebody! ?
You need to use a chelating shampoo
@@thedigitalloctician I appreciate you !
