Oven looks amazing and that cake looked spot on. I run a tea rooms and am always baking cakes. Also I’m thinking ‘Toad in the hole’, with onion gravy and vegetables would work very well in it . . . It’s making me hungry!!! 😂😂

Very entertaining video! So you bought an oven to store in the oven because it’s cheating using the oven in the van!!😂 We have same van and use the oven which is great. Took a bit of getting used to but now we use all the time for heating meals and croissants and chips! Enjoy your videos, keep them coming 😀

Ha ha great shout 😂 You can tell you are very experienced campers, we didn’t think of that until finished baking and packing it away as you are right it doesn’t make some interesting noises 😂😂😂 A quick retrieval from the bin of the bubble wrap and we have hopefully found a solution 😬 Have a lovely weekend 🥰
I've got an original version of these which is probably circa 1980's. It's still in the original packaging (never used with the original paperwork) and its enamelled, so not as light weight. I might have to dig it out and give it a try.
Wow 🤩 Didn’t realise they had been around that long but the website FAQ does mention a previous enamel version, that’s brilliant, must be tried and tested! Be interesting to see how it works, thanks Andrew 🥰👍
@@VantasticAdventures I dug it out last night after watching your video. The cardboard box was a bit crusty but I took it out the box and all the original packaging and paperwork was still there. Just like a little time capsule. I purchased mine second hand about 10 years ago off eBay. After watching your cooking results I'm going to put it to work. I've got an oven to go into my campervan build but I think this would be great to cook roast potatoes to go with a Sunday roast dinner or to make a massive Yorkshire pudding to go with a roast dinner.
A giant Yorkshire pudding is a brilliant idea! Thanks for that will give it a bash too, the silicon mould would be perfect for that as easy to remove and clean - Can see some more cooking experiments today now 😂👍
Really entertaining video again, we are just back from a weekend at a CL in the centre of Hutton le Hole in the North Yorkshire moors, open all year and hard standings. Great walks and mountain bike routes and a great pub The Crown about 2 mins walk from the site. Well worth a visit if you are ever in the area.

What a great idea ref the wallet - I would save a fortune 😂 that round cake looked very tasty - imagine it would look like a big doughnut if you took it out? Looks like a handy bit of kit - all the best, David & Rachel 👍

Really enjoyed watching you demonstrating this really cool (and hot ) oven and much quicker and easier to clean than a conventional oven . Very impressed with the cake Iain but having been lucky enough to eat Caroline's cakes sorry you will always come a close second .

I think you need to use your in van oven on the same items then rate it against your van oven. Also you could rate the cake making. Plus side more cake Ian.

I used to try the wallet excuse but that excuse became defunct when Apple Pay came out. Not only do I have my Credit card on my phone, Clare has my card on hers too 😂 and there’s no limit on Apple Pay 🙄 great piece of kit. I agree using the oven is cheating. I’ve only used our oven in the van twice when I was desperate for pizza (pre Ridgemonkey 😂) I think fry light would stop the non Chicken Chicken nuggets sticking and only 2 calories per squirt 👍🏻Clare loved how excited Iain got at his cake 🎂
Great shout on the fry light, will give that a bash thank you 🥰 Caroline loves Apple Pay, fortunately for Iain he has Android and a Barclaycard which doesn’t work with Google pay 😂😬 Thanks for watching, the next challenge will be Iain’s favourite cake, a Victoria sponge 😂👌

I’ve lost my wallet. Not that old chestnut. Can’t believe you fell for that Caroline. How much does that oven thing weigh and why could you not get it back in the bag. You make me laugh Iain, you won’t use the oven because you think it’s cheating. 😂😂 you’re not exactly slumming it in that van of yours. Nice pinnie though. Very macho. How long does it take to cool down after making cake. Looks like a very dry plain cake to me. Caroline has got the right idea with the cream and jam. Caroline you should challenge Iain to a bake off episode on your channel. That would be worth a watch. Why don’t you just use your oven. I stayed to the end for Mollie. It was worth it. Another entertaining vlog. Caroline you’re a real crowd pleaser. Iain you’re ok too. 👍🏻 Just one last thing Iain… did the cake stick to the tin. I never saw you taking it out.
Ha ha 😂 Great shout on the cake sticking, you are obviously a cake professional too as Caroline explained that would happen and suggested creating “handles” with longer pieces of the baking paper to make it easier to lift out the cake 🍰👍 Unfortunately Iain’s handles were a bit short and only half the cake came out 😂 The other half was eaten from the oven once it had cooled, about 15 mins later 🤓 Mollie says thanks, she wants more airtime next week though 🐶
My friends from Germany swear by their Omnia! I’ve had moussaka, lasagna, and cake all cooked in one. Although I’m a wee bit confused as to why you’d have an additional piece of kit when you have an oven???!!!! Shame I missed you at the NEC.
Caroline keeps asking the same question but it does make a useful additional cupboard 😂😂😂 Some great ideas for recipe's, thank you Andrew 🥰 Vegetarian lasagne is a favourite so would love to be able to make that in the van, that's the weekend sorted 😁 We missed so many people at the NEC, we didn't even find the stage until the end of the day but heard great things about your session's, quite a few people saying it was their highlight of the show 🥰 We decided we definitely need more than a day next time, hopefully we can catch up sometime in 2022 👍

Hello, great question, thank you 🥰 It was actually just over the minimum setting on our smallest burner, we started at medium but it was a bit too hot for the nuggets so tried the lowest setting then increased ever so slightly from there which worked well especially for the cake 😁👍

Thanks Gill, it was a worrying hour until we found it 🥰 The chair was a Helinox, extremely light weight and folds up into a tiny pack size, not cheap but very clever 👍
@@VantasticAdventures I thought it was I’ve also been looking at them. Have you looked at Lady Hayes Campsite. It has 3 pitches with hot tubs. They go very quickly. We managed to get in a few years ago and it was lovely. Take care Gill
