    Friendly advice:
    Send that flimsy rod back.
    Get a rounded rod with a ceiling drop mount for more shoulder room. Set the ceiling mount 2/3rds toward the rear near the window. Use two standard curtains. You will have far more selection and they will be better quality and cheaper in the long run. The one closest to the water will be extended tight, the one farther back toward your window will not unfurl fully. Then put extensions on your rod rings for more light inside the shower and so the outwardly curved shower curtain lands inside the drip pan to keep you floor dry. Magnetic strip on the inside of the shower lip and magnets sewed or glued into the hem of the forward curtain keep it from billowing out from the steam and drip flooding the floor.

Y'all have worked so hard together to build the American dream. Spencer you are going to make the worlds best family man, thats already apparent.. Omg a year later, I’m so amazed how much progress has been done! 🪚🪜🔧I could have never imagined how beautiful and wonderful your home 🏡has turned out to be and more importantly how much dedication and Love have poured into making your love nest. I can’t even express how proud of you two I’m. You are very hard working honest people. I’m so happy that you expanded your home and family! Your journey has been incredible to watch, thanks for sharing! I can’t wait to see what other projects you will come up with since you have two little ones! By using two curtains that are exactly the same, the curtains will drape better so you won’t have to stretch the curtain across the opening… Also, if you overlap the curtains where they come together, there won’t be any leakage. OR even better, with two curtains, you could keep one at each end and draw them closed to the middle. I know buying two curtains instead of one is an unexpected expense, but it is a one time cost that will last for many years.

    Depending on how badly you want to add some shower space without taking up bathroom space - you can get one of those Curved Shower Rods and if mounted properly it will bow the shower curtain out at the top while the bottom will still stay inside the curb (if you have the shower curtain hung right). If you want a stronger rod - I have used 1 or 1.25 inch rigid galvanized electrical conduit. It is very stiff and it doesn't rust! It is also not expensive!

    It would be really easy to sew a contrasting stripe down the side of the curtain to increase the width by a smidge. You could use a color (gray, the color of the plant pot, or pick something bright) or even a white with a contrasting texture. I would recommend adding a stripe to each side to make it balanced. You'll need 2 extra curtain rings to hang it.

    I love to see this after seeing you go from land, to containers to this. To solve this shower issue, why not get a curved rod? Those curved rods give you additional arm room, but still attach the same way as the straight rods. I'm so happy for you!

You both have shown such dedication & commitment to getting to this point. Thank you for allowing us to experience this with your family. The shower turned out so good. The whole room is light and bright. Love the plants....Maybe you could record the sounds outside at night to play while taking a shower. To remind you both of days gone by. You could add a dowel inside the 2 piece rod to add strength or a hanger. I got tired of not having a wide enough shower so I used a curved shower rod which worked out very well. The curtain still tucks in at you feet, but it will give you about 6 inches or so and it feels like your whole shower is very wide. Love your show!

    Love the bathroom! It has a super clean and modern look, but I have to say, I would've went with glass shower wall/door (the more modern ones that have come out lately) it would've looked really good in that type of bathroom. But hey, yah did awesome either way! And everything is just the way you guys like it, and that's what matters. ❤

      glass shower door/wall; just ONE MORE THING to have to maintain and try to keep clean. One can clean the curtain, by throwing it into the washer, with a spoonful of bleach and detergent; comes out clean, no scrubbing;

    I agree with the curved shower rods, if you ever want a change or a bit more room. Also, buy two of the same curtain you have. Just like a window has multiple panels, you could have two panels for your shower to have more coverage if you want.

    Go the custom printed shower curtain deal! (zazzle) I did years ago and had my own graphic patterns printed on both canvas curtains. The second one I then was able to cut the graphics into 18in wide strips and sewed to the center printed curtain with a proper seam. Came out fantastic. And then I used two frosted plastic liners (one cut short) as secondary protection. Now imagine that bathroom of yours with your "Life Uncontained" brand and logo upon it... or perhaps tree branches or a photo of your old shower setup outside as a memory now inside.

    I'm SHOCKED you didn't go for a CURVED rod option. That would have made such a difference and given the feel of more room in the shower and fit in the same space on the wall. Just, WOW!😏🤷 Also, the rod placed so high above the sill was an interesting choice.🤔

    Glad that you finally have a shower now. :) Congratulations. I've enjoyed following your journey.
    Might want to think of getting one of those "C" shaped shower curtain rods and a custom shower curtain to make it a little wider at the top for those big, wide shoulders. :)
    Also, I don't know how low your shower window is to the ground. If you close the blinds with them pointed down, someone can see inside from the top down. With them pointed up, they can only see upwards toward the ceiling.
