Caderjames I wish they would release a POV from its test runs

That’s me
lol yeah
"A piece'O'crap skyline"
lol yeah that was a dig!
@jake mckitchen
I actually laughed out loud when he said that
Rewound 3 times like wtf???
Thought maybe it was something he saw at an IAAPA convention before it hit me
They can’t do el cheapo!
Airtime thrills is always the best way to end the day
nateferg 52 it’s only 5 for me
Your not too far off
Or start a day! Or any time of the day tbh
Watching at 11:29 PM.

2018 was a mic drop year for RMC!
They blew everyone away with Steel Vengence, debuted their raptor model to rave reviews, and still converted 2 additional woodies into hybrids.
RMC went into the 2010s as an underdog and came out of the decade rollin' with the big boys!
They debuted the Raptor 5 years ago? I feel so old 😭
Really was a banner year for RMC. At my home park (Kings Dominion) the converted woodie became Twisted Timbers, which is probably one of the most acclaimed coasters in the park now. Truly an amazing transformation, especially if you were familiar with the roughness of the woodie it was (Hurler).
I would say Steel Vengeance is more important than just showing cedar fairs interest in RMC but rather it was the first rmc hyper hybrid and resulted in rides like Zadra and Iron Gwazi.
Ryan Strembicki and also put Zadra as an honorable mention because how early it opened even with the hiccups.
For anyone saying “FiRSt”...
I have a blue shell. Try me
pls no dont do it
Don’t Subscribe here’s a red shell to take out first place
I have a Super Horn.
OOF MODZZ I’ll just stay behind you until right before the finish line, then nail you with a GREEN 😝😝😝
Savage
“A pisocrap skyliner” 😭
Luke Milligan what’s hilarious is that he isn’t wrong. 😂
Well, you can’t say that he’s wrong...
Hope they'll soon learn & improve from those prototypes though, they're otherwise very solid ideas
Let's hope they're just Skyline's Flashback/Hypersonic XLC
@@revimfadli4666 But Skyline doesn't really make smooth coasters. (which is weird because RMC makes the track)
@@ryan_n05 neither did Intamin(when they made Flashback) or Vekoma
It's kinda funny most of the six flags parks got sns free spins exept the one that could really use a new coaster the great Escape
@Tyler Barton the great escape has 4 coasters only one of which is good the comet I think it could use it more
YES, great escape is my home park
@@bubblegaminglol mine too, I very much have a love hate relationship with the park on the one hand I'll always have a soft spot for the park but on the other it's super small compared to others
So much this! We could definitely use an RMC Raptor up at SFGE, too!
Nobody cares about that park 😂
3:00 Cannibal also broke the mold of "inversions don't belong on hyper coasters", showcasing what weird inversion shaping could be done with hyper heights, while still having lap bars.
And the Lagoon roll probably influenced Maxx dive, Untamed's 270° stall, etc
I know I’m one year late here, but steel phantom had a 220 ft drop and inversions 20 years before cannibal. Admittedly the original incarnation of that ride was fucking miserable by modern standards
@@evanmaunders5688 thanks, though that ride & its flaws were probably among the very reasons the "inversions don't belong on hypers" industry "standard" was a thing in the first place
I didn't say Cannibal was the first to do hyper inversions, but rather that it managed to shatter decades-old trend against it which probably began due to the awfulness of early hyper loopers
@@revimfadli4666 eejanika, griffon, and Karnan all did hyper inversions in an entertaining way before cannibal as well, though. If I was going to give an innovation award to cannibal, it would be for the elevator lift and record breaking drop
@@evanmaunders5688 as well as x2, eijenika, the big dives - and i hate to say it - big apple coaster
Even B&M put inversions on their Hypers long before Cannibal. (Shiekra, Griffon, and more recently Valravn and Yukon Striker). So it definitely wasn't that unusual.
New Texas Giant and Formula better be on here
edit: YES! Great video as usual! Makes school less boring lol
Ejector Air Coasters I redid your intro (I posted it a couple of days ago)
Yes, New Texas Giant is probably the most important thing to ever happen to the rollercoaster industry ever since Six Flags made their parks, and only grown from there (also Formula is important but not as important as NTG)
Greta?
@@coasterhockygamingboy9549 yes Greta Thunberg. JK lol, I fixed it
From what I've searched up, 4D freespins actually cost around 7 mil USD. So 2017 wasn't such a bargain year of Six Flags compared to Cedar Fair.
Wisconsin Thrills darn, here I thought I had finally found a budget coaster for my backyard.
Lech Coaster is under 5
Still, 7 mill for THREE coasters is a bargain
@@AirtimeThrills for each
Wisconsin Thirills it really doesn’t get much cheaper than 7million besides smaller RMC’s and most mine trains, so that was a bargain to six flags compared to hypers or even an infinity coaster.
Aye, something to watch after school
7:50 **moment of silence, please**
You're underrated
Yup he is
Oh yeah Airtime Thrills makes my day better :)
2:30 I literally live 5 minutes from here. Not the park. But the location that this frame is at.
@Dreyness Right? Haha I saw it though and I knew exactly where it was. Sure I knew Lagoon, but who cares about the park right? 😂
Pisocrahp is my new favorite manufacturer
This video made me proud to have the original RMC as my home RMC
Same
Tyler S. No but I am an ACE member
My home rock is Joker
Can you make this a series and go by decade? Thx good stuff
Alex Lamb YES!
I put it on my list
Love the Star Wars references
Calebs_rollercoasters absolutely I died laughing 😂😂
Now... I wonder which coaster(s) will be the most important in the twenties? 😎
I agree with you
Hilarious to metuchen the clone wars series which is coming back tomorrow for the final season.
you have the best coaster vids on YT. 👍
Great concept for a video! A minor correction - Intamin *has* built a Giga since Intimidator 305. Red Force isn't of that traditional mould, sure, but it does count! Keep it up! :)
Your Star Wars jokes makes me want to play Star Wars Epidode I Racer for the N64, which I just got with the box and manuals.
We meet again. Lol. I think we like the same coaster channels or something.
A piece-o-crap Skyline 😂😂 I died laughing
I have never been so excited for the future of my home park, California’s Great America. Haven’t been this excited for the future of the industry in general, in a good 20 years. Just one thing - can we have Arrow back? Kickstarter??
Scott D I’m pretty sure Kickstarter won’t be enough.
S&S has some of Arrows limbs
There's a crap ton of big & little coaster/amusement ride companies all over Northern Utah that sprang up from Arrow's demise (like S&S), so it's not like they've disappeared completely. The in-house Lagoon design team that made Cannibal in this video is lead by a bunch of ex-Arrow dudes for example.
@@Cooe. What I never knew that!!
@@360coasters Yup. For instance, the 100% in-house Lagoon Rides & Coasters Design Group is headed up by Dal Freeman (was the lead designer on ALL 3 of Lagoon's fully in-house designed coasters, inc. the super innovative/groundbreaking Wicked & Cannibal).
Dal was one of the lead coaster designers at Arrow before it crumbled & for a looong time prior. He lead designed Magnum XL-200 for example, even if Ron Toomer stole the official lead design credit (as he also did for a number other big Arrow rides as the firm's nominal "head coaster designer" for a major stretch of time back then. Not that Ron isn't a RIDICULOUSLY talented coaster designer in his own right, because he totally is. He's just been inaccurately credited for some things that aren't exactly 100% legitimate as described).
Number 10 broke, no, shattered... anyone else thinking what I’m thinking?
Texas Coasters TOO SOON!
Honestly, I thought that's where he was heading with that and I was saying to myself "oooh that's harsh".
I wasnt even thinking about that but yeah...
Life hack for Alton Towers: If you can't build above the treeline, smuggle some California redwoods into the UK and make the treeline a lot higher
What would you rather go to,
Carowinds or bush gardens tampa
BGT no doubt. They got Iron Gwazi, Kumba, Montu, and a bunch of other unique and well themed attractions. Plus it's a SeaWorld park
BGT
I don’t know.
Fury or Iron Gwazi? Hmmm... Maybe BGT because Carowinds lineup isn’t as strong
BGT because of Iron Gwazi.
I think one of the most underrated ones is Wooden Warrior. I think it did for small size parks over the past decade what CCI's Raven did for mid-size parks in the 1990s/early 2000s. It was a super compact coaster with modest height that delivered an action packed ride for an affordable price.
At 1:29 I think blackfish broke the ice between seaworld and coasters...
Here's hoping they continue with more coasters, less animals. Like, they could theme their parks to the sea, kind of like DisneySea in Japan, and make their parks much better. If they do that, I'll finally go.
I agree but Manta came before Blackfish
Noteworthy - Cedar Fair was planning to build Gold Striker at CGA for the 2009 season, I was a member of ACE back then. I think it was first announced in late 2007 and then the stock market crashed a year later. They even announced the layout which went unchanged. I remember it surprising me that the plan didn’t change after 4 whole years. Even disappointed me, I wanted a Blitz Coaster. I STILLLL want a blitz coaster. ‘Twould be a perfect addition considering they can’t build coasters above 100 feet, speaking of which, I don’t for a second believe that a Hyper is coming to CGA. The locals won’t allow it, they’ve never supported the park, and I loathe them with a passion!! Good day!!
I believe that they have already filed permits and been approved for a hyper
Skimad123 any chance you have a link to an article or a post on a comment board?
Scott D pretty much every 5 year plan prediction for CGA has talked about it. Im not 100% sure, but I know that I have been hearing it for years
I know they were pursuing a hyper, I doubt they would waste their time unless they had a shot at getting one
Airtime Thrills if anything even remotely hyper comes within 30 miles of my home, I’ll surely grey out from the announcement!!
Another video idea: Favorite classic wooden coasters (ones built before 1980)
Great idea. I'm always interested to hear info about old coasters. Most channels don't go in depth about the older rides unfortunately. I find them to be a fascinating history lesson, honestly.
Maybe after my 2020 trip
Airtime Thrills Oh honey 😔
I think dc rivals could be honourable mention because of an impact on Australian amusement market.
Agreed
Awesome video. This is your channel at its best.
I agree with everything you said in this video. Thanks for always making quality content, with tons of facts and info. You are quickly becoming my favorite coaster channel.
I don’t care if New Texas Giant was only #1 for what came after it; I’m just happy that my home park of Six Flags Over Texas is finally on top of one of these lists
@boredtiredandsad3197And either him or someone else said Titan is their favourite Giovanola Hyper
And I'm pretty sure Mr Freeze was his favourite Premier Rides launch coaster
I knew New Texas Giant would be 1. It’s also a much better ride than it gets credit for. My 3rd favorite RMC out of the 5 I’ve done, much better than Twisted Colossus and Twisted Timbers
i think fury 325 is important to B&M because it shows what B&M can do. and that they are the king of Gigas
I think Zadra should be on this list, as a first RMC I-Box Track coaster built from the ground up versus a rebuild of a former wooden coaster. It was open in 2019 in Energylandia- Poland. (Btw its my nr.1!) :)
Such a great video! Excited to watch your channel blow up! Keep up the great content.
Before the video: every RMC and some of the new wooden stuff like Mystic Timbers.
After the video: No mystic timbers.
Unpopular opinion, I really like the S&S freespins, you can have a crap ride or an amazing ride and every ride is different, the throughput of them is pretty good if the ride ops are not crap too.
spider0804 of course Mystic Timbers wouldn’t be included, Prowler opened in 2009!
Im not sure what the reason would be for adding Mystic on here
I think I have an idea for a new ride model. So basically, what happens is you go up a chainlift backwards. At the top you stop for a second and then drop down and head up into a half loop and two corkscrews faced in a way to function as a turn around. You go through one more vertical loop, go back up a chainlift, this time facing forward. You roll back and go through the layout backwards over again. I would call this revolutionary ride a Boomerang. I’m lucky I’m so original! 😀
11 minutes ago😱
what about wave breaker at swsa, the start of all the Intamins coming back into the us
Justin Raney that was only a 5 year gap between some big rides to a family coaster.
Yeah I thought about it but it wasnt too long between that and Skyrush and it was such a mild family launch coaster i decided to bypass it
3:54: “Funny enough, you won’t find any of these in the major park chains”
Energylandia: *”AM I A GOD DANG JOKE TO YOU”*
Technically yes because he doesn’t know
Another great video! Also I think you got it right. The emergence of RMC has changed the coaster world. My home park is CP and I am lucky enough to have the best all around coaster in my backyard. There are few times in life when the hype lives up to...well, all the hype. And RMC did it for me. I absolutely love riding with people that have never been on SV before. Rides like Fury are fantastic, but you can see what's coming for the most part. RMC is much more sneaky. You have to ride one to understand and that's what makes them great.
Your best vid
Lol you immidiately earned even more of my respect with that Star Wars reference. I approve! I don’t know if you watch the Clone Wars animated series, but if you do the first episode of season 7 launched today.
Most important coasters of the 2010s-
RMC- hold my beer.
ah yes, the start of a new era for california’s great america.
I find it interesting how certain park and construction firm combos emerge as "trend setters" in different decades. In the 90's it was Six Flags Great America and the debut of B&M, in the 00's it was Cedar Point and Intamin, and the 10's it was probably Fiesta Texas and RMC.
I dunno if I agree with that statement, especially since SFMM and Cedar Point entered what is effectively an arms race in the 90s that they haven't technically stopped. Hell, Magic Mountain by itself is basically a must for any coaster enthusiast's bucket list mainly because it features a ton of unique coasters with seriously buffed-up stats. No really most of the roller coasters there have some kind of record.
1980s: A coaster with a loop is outdated
2020: A coaster that's over 76 MPH and 200 feet is outdated.
2068: A coaster that goes over 768 MPH and 30,000 feet is outdated.
3020: A coaster that is a hybrid is outdated.
5046: coasters are outdated.
That skyline dig was perfect... the Pisocrap Skyline, Harley Quinn Crazy Not-A-Coaster Coaster at Discovery Kingdom has held true to the company motto... “whatever we build, it’s always a Pisocrap!”
I'm 10 Years Old And Last Summer I Went To Alton Towers And I Rode 8 Coasters Including The Smiler I Live In Blackpool And I've Been On The Big One. It's The 2nd Best Coaster In The Park, Icon Is Better The Big One's Drop Is Great But The Layout Is An Extreme Monarail
Ayyyy Lagoon! I go all the time! Cannibal is crazy fun man!
Surprised to see Lagoon or any ride in it pop up on any sort of list, honestly
See the problem is the clones of the S&S freespin would be ok if the names weren’t clones too! Total mayhem would be a good name and any other name other then joker and Batman
7:30 - talking about Raptor at Gardaland
7:35 - talking about Takabisha, the steepest roller
.
Sequoia adventure is just chllin' in the corner then 😂
.
Great video, it was a super interesting with some coasters I totally overlooked and would not have considered good!
You have the most creative and original video ideas of just about anybody in our community. This one is no exception. Cheers!
Fury 325 is the tallest traditional lift hill coaster in the world, Of course it deserves to be on this list.... That alone is a good reason.
16:47 I know more than two parks have received ground-up RMCs, including Six Flags Great America.
I'll just say this much, Fury made Carowinds a destination park (for coaster junkies), not to knock on Steel Vengeance (I do that enough) but it didn't turn Cedar Point into a destination alone.
Why does every Cedar Fair Park have an RMC except for my home park (kings island) yeah we got a gci mystic timbers but it always has lines from the short height requirement #rmcthebeast
Fury re-asserted B&M as capable of making the best coaster on the planet, something they probably hadn't achieved since Nemesis.
Hey I’m gonna be in North Carolina in May and I found out that Kings dominion and carowinds are gonna be about 2.5 hours away. So anyone give me your feedback on which park I should go to
8:54 More like smashed... Get it?
everyone talks about California's great adventure but not Michigan's adventure😔
Get to Singapore and ride Battlestar Galactica, or China for Tron. Both amazing Vekoma rides that predate what you have named!
I have a video idea. What if you did a video ranking the best coaster types under 10 million dollars?
That could be interesting
I'm still sad I missed out on Cannibal when I visited Lagoon, I got really sick halfway through the day and never made it on. Next time I go up to Montana to visit family from California, I'm stopping there again just so I can ride it...
So if a new original ride is named "Batman: The Ride", it will inevitably get cloned to the point where enthusiasts get sick of it. Got it.
Hi I love your video, you help me to improve my english because I'm 12 years old and I'm French 😉
I'm guessing I305 would have been #18 and that's why this list has 17 entries.
(The ride was extremely important to the park and the region, even if debatable effectiveness. I232 kicked off a whole program of much needed improvements, but KD got the first giga in a decade.)
I guess you could say i305 paved the way for the other 3 Cedar Fair gigas by B&M but its a stretch, and after i305 Cedar Fair ignored KD for 8 years so i didnt think it belonged on this list
@@AirtimeThrills Actually it was part of a 5 year plan, with first things first. The next 5 didn't align, industry trends. They're going to have to step it up with old coasters dying on them (if they can, now) but surely they knew that was coming.
This is the most important comment like it.
Maybe you could make a video about parks that need investments like Thorpe park or you could even make a individual video about it.
You can say that the Smiler shattered the inversion record AND the legs of a couple riders.
I’m sorry.
Honestly when he said "shattered", I thought of that immediately.
r/cursedcomments
Morbid but true
You really didn't need to go there..
Am over here waiting for great America to open should go visit other parks
Completely agree with NTG as the top pick. Not sure how it couldn't be. Awesome video as always!
Wonderful video!
I do have to point out, since it was my favorite coaster at one time. SOB wasnt the first inverting wooden coaster. The loop wasn't a problem. And the loop had steel supports, but the track was virtually pure wood (minus the typical steel plating).
Outlaw run also straddles that grey area of.. "is it truly a wooden inverting coaster?".
Off-topic: personally, I consider topper track to be not a hybrid coaster, but a hybrid-track coaster.
:)
Fun trip down memory lane. Hopefully this comment's not too too annoying :)
Calakapepe SOB wasn’t the first, but the last one was nearly a century old.
@@DoswarePictures yeah das mah point~
Was the SOB track on the loop actually wood? I gotta take another look at that
@@AirtimeThrills hard to find a clear picture but if you watch Sean Flaharty's 2000 offride footage.. you can kinda see if from the side views. You can definitely HEAR the wood during the loop. And if you look at some pics of the loop spine in the parking lot, that gives some clues too.
The loop: A second to think 'OH this is smooth.' Minutes later, 'I'm bringing a mouth guard next time...'🤕
and just as things started looking up Cedar Fair signed CGAs death warrant a couple of years later
Over texas is my home park and while Texas Giant is not as strong as other RMCs its still a phenomenal coaster packed with plenty of airtime.
"RMC added ground-up wooden coasters to Silver Dollar City and Dollywood"
**Goliath at SFGAM has left the chat in tears** :'(
Fury 325 is the tallest chain lift coaster in the world. There’s your reason why it should be on this list.
Iron rattler should have been on here because it was the first rmc hybrid to invert
What’s with you and railblazer
Everybody likes a ranking video
WCR juuuuusssttt missed the mark... in more ways than one
Top 10 parks that haven't gotten a coaster in the past decade
These top coaster videos are awesome. I hope there is some more in the near future!
before watching, i'm guessing Fury, New Texas Giant, i305, and maybe Lightning Rod are on here
Ahh, 2/4 ain't bad
I’m so pumped for Jersey Devil and Candymonium this year. Finally a raptor relatively close to home.
Mack rides. Think Mack Daddy, not going Mach 3 in a fighter jet.
Overall I think this is a really good video. I like it I kind of am curious your thoughts though. Is something groundbreaking or revolutionary or important if they only made one and nobody ever contracted to get another one?
The only one I think I could actually disagree with for the most part would be time traveler. I think time traveler is kind of a gimmick coaster. I for one am not very fond of spinning coasters. I think they're just kind of a novelty. It's not really useful in a large scale intense roller coaster. To me it's more floor something like Sierra Sidewinder. A small compact fun novelty layout. I just don't think the spinning aspect mixes well with a high-intensity ride. But that's just one man's opinion
Quinto Creations well tornado at bakken exist.
I heard Mack rides was pronounced Mach since its German. So since then Ive tried to use that pronunciation. I dont think that coasters that come along and are a one-off are not significant. Time Traveler I believe can start a trend, Mack is keeping this going with its 2020 and 2021 coasters. We'll see if others adopt it
@@AirtimeThrills I hope so. I find spinning coasters to be pretty fun. Adding more thrills to that fun can only enhance the experience.
Ooops ! Someone totally forgot about a coaster that debuted in 2013 as "The Worlds Only Wooden One" and the first wooden one built in over 70 + years . Its a historic modern marvel that took 7 years to make and meet the tough safety standards of today . How can that not be important ? Hint it's in a working HISTORIC ride museum amusement park .
Flying Turns was an accomplishment for sure but not sure it really fits into this list as important for the industry. It didnt lead to an influx of wooden bobs or anything
Cool!
If the new Texas giant ain’t here, someone gon need to catch these hands 🤚 🖐
How about an inverted single rail
by rmc
the one i expect most of are Mack and Vekoma (Sensei)
I’ll take you mentioning Hades 360 as a tribute to me.(wicoasterkid on insta).
