I do a lot of wildlife and cats, this looks very like my old Tabby cat Rosie. I had to let her go (she was over 20 years old) last Christmas, as she had stomach cancer. Over the years of sketching and drawing cats, a Tabby cat is one of the hardest to detail. I have a Tombow mono round eraser, that, and my electric one are brilliant for hair details.

This is fantastic!! Would love to see some real time/slower footage of the technique you use for the hair/fur!! I have a tendency to overblend I think, I'd love to know what I'm doing wrong
Sorry that I am answering this literally 4 years later lol, but I suggest slowing the video down in the settings for the hair! It really helped me so maybe it can help u if u haven’t already found a solution lol.

Whenever he added the lines for the outline of the face, I was just like "No way, those are WAY too big. The thumbnail was definitaly clickbait." Now I think I know what I do wrong when drawing cats.

The darks in your drawings are really good, I see you use 0.7mm pencil, but do you use a different grade for darks? or just HB?

Fantastic tutorial. Especially regarding not overthinking the hair symmetry and the skin to fuzz to longer fur. I've been going through a phase of drawing birds. It's that same delicacy between the downy texture to distinct feather formation. People underestimate the effect the blending stick and eraser can have. Subtlety is key. Thanks for this. I learned a lot. Your eyes are so good. Kudos.

Instructions unclear, ive thrown my sketchbook across the room bc i realize i cant draw and people are flat out lying to me about the quality of my art
Here is a hint on what I do. My computer is in the bedroom - so I have the sound off and close caption on, sometimes even that is confusing. Anyway, I just keep stopping the video, backing up and continuing until I get it. Keep practicing. I am not at all an expert, just learning all I can.
Me : this is so easy I can do this

Hahaha!!! I paint with acrylic and sometimes have to draw the shapes on before hand and I’m not that great at the drawing part but the paint seems to just flow for me. I decided to watch this to try to up my cat lady drawing game and I put my sketch book away as soon as I saw the eyes 😂😂😂 id anyone asks for a cat (or any animal really) painting and gives me a pic of their animal that has both eyes showing I have to trace their shape into the canvas or I’m screwed 😂 they’re never even otherwise!!

ebkittydiyer I've seen my 2016 drawing and I see big Improvement my 2017 drawing is good.
It's "well" not "good".
I remember following this tutorial when I was 10! It didn't turn out nearly as nice, but it looked good nonetheless. You were a huge inspiration to me and this video alone took me down the path of art professionally. I only really considered art as a career after finishing this drawing. Thank you so much, seriously. You had a massive impact of my life.

I would really like to see some technique videos to see how you accomplish some of these effects, but with a slower video! That would be really awesome. I really love to draw and I'm also a tattoo artist and this really helps me watching these videos and seeing how other people accomplish the same effects I do and maybe you can accomplish the same effect a more efficient way. It's a very good drawing and I love your work!
