Hi! Short explanation for why the writers decided to go this route (probably): by Tolkien-lore they were actually separated for a while due to tragic circumstances before setelling down in Lothlorien. True, that event happened at a different time later, but because Tolkien was never too specific about these events, it makes as good sense to have them separated at this dark times as if it happened later. Mind you, elves live for thousand and thousand of years, he could have been missing for 400years and they'll still be young when meeting again. They will eventually have a daughter, and also help Frodo in LOTR. From a purely writing standpoint, you need to take away something dear to the character in order for them to go on a journey hoping to acquire/or avenge it.
I actually asked for Unfinished Tales as a birthday present, partly to check out the Galadriel and Celeborn backstory, and it’s an inconsistent mess. I understand that even Tolkien didn’t know that Galadriel was going to be that important when he started, and he kept changing his mind on Celeborn, so I’m just grateful that he did not ultimately go with the name “Teleporno” and leave it there.

The rings of power were forge in SA1500 and in SA1600 the One Ring. And in the SA 1697 attacked Eregion. They are elves, they are supposed to more virtuous than mortals, and when they fall in love, they fall hard, they can literally die from heartbreak. So one partner for 10,000 years isn't going to make them restless.
We’re to believe that elves didn’t prepare armour that fit them? Elves who seem to have great capability of reforging a sword couldn’t fit armour for a literal prince?
This, plus calling hiim a silver clam , come on show writers that is just utter and complete bs when it is he that is actually the warrior out of the pair. Sure galadriel is a capable fighter but it is him that goes to defend Eregion, it is him that holds off sauron long enough to have Elrond join his forces. It is him that leads the elves of Lothlorien to Dol Guldur and captures the castle before Galadriel throws down its walls and lay bare it's pits. the only way I can see his armor didn't properly fit is because his armor is too damaged to be repaired in time due to the kinslaying .
Hahaha! But just to explain, it was Elrond who did that move for a ruse. Galadriel doesnt know that Elrond will do that so she isnt after her son in law. It is still a VERY STUPID SCENE. Urge I hate that scene so much. The writers just inserted that for controversy.

"They need to fix the dead husband notion or get the wrath of Tolkien fans." They've already gotten the wrath of Tolkien fans, so why stop now?
@@NinaC Jup and he is pretty jacked and quite good looking, it all comes down to camera work. lightning and his acting though.
Tell me where is Gandalf, for I much desire to... escape with him
Cute, she mocks her dead husband
I don't think he's dead. She said she'd never seen him after
@@knzafir of course he isnt, the scriptwriters arent allowed to do this, sameway its pointless to show Isildur in mortal danger, because he died as a grown man after Saurons defeat according to the lore but it doesnt change the fact that the writers creat cheap drama and suspension where there is actually none. All the main protagonist which have a certain fate within Tolkiens lore have bullet proved plot armour.
@@knzafir Well, he can't be dead. He appears in The Lord of the Rings, which happens after this.
"Hey, Theo, guess what? I used to have a husband, he looked like a silver clam in armor, lol. Anyway, ya know who is really hawt? Sauron. I've been chasing after that bad boy for centuries.
Celeborn is Sauron
They really should just cast Charlie Vickers pretending to be Celeborn and messing with her mind again 😂
That's what will likely happen in season 2 .
Thank god this series ain't camon.
Tolkien has been rolling in his grave so rappidly he tyrned into a barrow wight
Tolkien is burning in hell after what he did to his niece
Feels to me that McKay & Payne didn’t know about Celeborn until the audience asked were he was during the promotional campaign, witch is why he’s only mentioned in the last episodes of season1 almost like an afterthought
How can her seemingly dead ex compare to the hunk that is Halbrand? No wonder she forgot all about him until ep 7
Hahahaha!!!
Yet she's gonna get it on with Zauuuron.
Boombayah with the Dark Lord.
I mean it is Sauron 👀
Isn't her husband alive in LoTR?
Yeah very alive but ROP forgot to mention it until episode 7 🤭 But it seems that in season 2 we will see him already as they already cast the actor who will play her husband
Elves are immortal so yes. Their bodies can be destroyed but the spirits will go to Mandos halls were he will create their bodies anew free to resume as before.
People: this makes no sense. Celeborn can't be dead
Me: perhaps... Galadriel married twice. I mean, one partner for 10.000 years?...
Yes
Nah she said his name, Celeborn. Same one
She said his name out loud
“One partner for 10.000 years?”
Literally yes! Tolkien lore.
Celeborn will be introduced in season 3
I really hope it is a great actor
I really don't understand why her eyes and her face look the same in almost every scene. Often only her mouth moves.
I didn't watch the episodes, but I watched a lot of RUclips scenes of her.
LOTR movies Galadriel : her whole face same in almost every scene. Often only her mind moves 😂
Well she's just being a bad actor throughout the show. It wasn't the right casting
The Dark Lord apparently wasn’t enough for her. Now she’s after her son in law too!
Hahaha! But just to explain, it was Elrond who did that move for a ruse. Galadriel doesnt know that Elrond will do that so she isnt after her son in law. It is still a VERY STUPID SCENE. Urge I hate that scene so much. The writers just inserted that for controversy.
@@NinaC Oh I know, just making fun of some stupid shit.
"Tell me, where is Celeborn, for I much desire to speak with him..."
Why galadriel?
Is it just me or does this seem like a throw away that was put in by the showrunners after fans called them out on the lore? So much time spend talking about Finrod and how much she loved him and is going to avenge him no matter what! ... oh and the guy she was married to but that would just be gravy.
This scene was filmed a YEAR before the show premiered
So, if Celeborn died, who was that with her on Fellowship of the Ring and at the end of Return of the King?!
Nah he isnt dead. Just missing in action. With this decision I have no idea why the showrunners* decided to do that. We were all thinking he will show up this season 2 (and also Galadriel’s daughter) but seems like they arent included this season.
Elves dont die
@michaelriggs325 Oh, yes, they do... stick a sword through them, and you will see them die... they are immortal only by age. Their bodies are just as frail as ours!
I have a ring of immense power
celeborn don't come back. Your wife is not like you know.
Perpetually dirty - can’t believe this is an elf
Well they were just hit by a volcano eruption. I guess Galadriel should do a Fern in Frieren and just ask for laundry magic 👍👍👍
@@NinaC Awesome elf.
Nooooooo :,( I thought maybe she didn't meet him yet, so now they are rewriting things??
If they said that she didn't meet him yet, it would be rewriting things too. At this point Galadriel and Celeborn should be married for several thousand years and already have their daughter Celebrian (Arwen's mother)
But if they aren't allowed to The Silmarillion as material, why is everyone expecting Tolkien's vision? This series it's a "based-on" series not an adaptation.
@Easttowest why not? They wanted to do it and they could, it's on a streaming service so it's not like people are hold at gunpoint to watch it anyway.
@@lilamoonlight2007 The appendixes should be enough for them to do a masterpiece. It gave them extra spaces needed.
Also, reasons why people hated this show is
1. Wokeness. I'm all for colours and feminism, but making Galadriel like some arrogant jerk is kinda stupid, she's basically been to Valinor
2. Some bad CGI. Numenor only sent 3 ships????
3. Forgettable characters.
They could have fixed it had
1. Elves look more like elves, majestic. (Black people can also look majestic btw)
2. Make Galadriel more wiser and somewhat more commanding
3. Celeborn should always stick with Galadriel, where both support one another(Tolkien basically make love a central theme)
4. Start the whole story with everyone still recovering from the deluge of Beleriand, like, they tried to build back the glories of the old kingdoms of Gondolin and Nargothrond. And Annatar appearing, giving everyone a hope that everything can be return to what its once was.
This is my opinion, I ain't a storyteller, but I'm sure there are others that are more well versed in the lore of Middle Earth.
They could try to make their own and new story, not copy something what already exists
@@Keram-io8hv Kin Strife would be a nice story, a 10 year exile of Eldacar and the burning of Ostgilliath.
Legit you have a Rhaegar style story, since Valacar married a woman who is considered to be unacceptable according to Numenoreans standards.
Just don't make a series if it's gonna be this Innacurate. It's disrespectful honestly.
Erm... Amazon, Celeborn isn't dead
........(sigh)
This is wrong in so many levels
she literlly has zero aggression in her body language she looks like a child in armour
Celeborn is nowhere to be seen so Guyladriel can have her Bossgirl agenda. Same goes for Míriel and that other activist Actor. God i hate this abomination of a Show.
The fact the you use “Guyladriel” just tells me everything about you my dear.
They didn’t just kill off celeborn so Galadriel could have a girlmance with the queen of numenor. Canon celeborn is not gonna like this.
TOUCH SOME GRASS CHALLENGE!!!! **LEVEL IMPOSSIBLE!😱😱**
This trash is not worth to watch...Amazon has absolutely no respect from Tolkiens great work.
This show sucks ass so bad....
Well if there is any consolation season 2 is better than season 1 so far. But that is due to the Sauron and Elrond show
Oh here we go again..the new mystery box..but for $$$ and new subscription you will find out what happened to Celeborn. This show is beyond stupid and bad writing. Oh and did i mention member berries? -.-
Galadrail: My husband is dead!
Tolkien: No I specifically put him in the lor as living ♟️📝📖🤔😏
Me: the screenwriters need to be 🔥ed oh wait .... never mind 😂 thx Amazon you finally got one thing right 👍
Well technically she didnt say her husband is dead though. The question was “did you lose someone”. Those are two different things… And we all know he isnt even dead anyway so .
But yes go off to Amazon. My suggestion is you write them an email. I think their address is ihate@amazon.com
