Hiya - if you split the plugs in halves, and / or make the plugs closer together, you will get a tighter, finer finish which will be more like a factory / natural parting. I did the plugs deliberately large for the video so it was clear to see - normally I would do double the amount of hair plugs and split them in half for thatching :-) I hope that helps! x
@MrPorp I have certainly never been described as a goddess before but I will happily accept that compliment!! Haha! I am pleased the vids have been helpful :D For a Bratz doll, you will need approximately 6 packets of hair x
@degraala glad the vid is helping! This particular Sindy is not a re-paint no, it might just be the light in the video which makes them look at little different? (or the fact I am squeezing her poor head!) x
You're like some sort of doll hair goddess LOL Thanks a bunch for all the tutorials, they've been really helpful and they have all tought me alot about doll hair :D And one question, how many packets of hair would you need to fully reroot a Bratz doll? Thank youuuuu
Thank you, i really want to do that for my battered up old Sindy , btw is there anyway to fix new eyelashes ? Guess I'd be better of buying a new one to fix ? There quite expensive :( unfortunately I don't hv much money .
Thank you for this video, it's very helpful! I was wondering though, your doll is very cute, but when I looked up Sindy dolls I noticed yours looked a little different in the eyes. Is it a repaint?
Hello, I am new to the whole doll customizing idea, and I am currently wanting to re-root my only doll. Is all this the same for a Monster High doll? I also have a question from your website; Do you have any black hair? I can't see any! Thank you
Hi MyLittleCustoms! I just wanna ask how could I make my Ghoulia Yelps' Skull Shore hair line look like Marilyn Monroe's. I really don't know what to do. I hope you can see this comment. Thank you so much! :D
the split plug thatch is worth the time if ppl are planning on doing a permanent style.. it's not really worth it as much if ppl are planning on playing with the dolls a lot and brushing the hair, etc..
Could you do a tutorial on doll bangs or fringes? And a big Thank You for your videos they really helped me to get started on making OOAK dolls ♥♡♥♡ :D
I recently bought a Sindy , boac cabin crew uniform , and it was a repro , so I couldn't remove the head to use on my ballarina Sindy and couldn't send her back as I'd opened the box :( I'm a collector of dolls but only have a few Sindy's with badly damaged hair eyelashes how can the eyelashes be re done without ruining the doll ?
@chasivae1993 do you mean the blonde Sindy at the end of the video? If so, that one was rooted with straight saran hair and I curled and styled it after I had completed the reroot :)
the exhange rate fluctuates daily so I can't give an exact answer I'm afraid - I tend to have a look to see what PayPal's rates on the day are to get a better idea :) x

wow you made that seem so easy now i'll have to re-root my old barbie i found at a flea market.....thanks ++++++
After thatching, if you wet the hair and style as normal, it should stay in place. :)
Wow. Thank you I was looking for this!!! And you explained it so well.
Yes! These tutorials will work on all doll heads including Barbie :-)

Cut the hair as short as possible, then remove the hair from the inside with tweezers :) x

@wilderbiz have you tried wetting the hair and working with it that way instead? Might be a little easier :)

If I wanted to get a really thick looking head of hair would I just put more hair through the plugs?
I was wondering if there was a way to secure the thatching? or once the hair is dry should it stay secure?
is there away to do the part without thatching as I have poor hand-eye coordination

do you have to take the dolls head off to do the re root??

Do you know how to remove the factory hair from your doll so you can start the ree root
I have a Sindy doll too!

How do you get the part line/thatching to stay so it doesn't unravel?
SO CUTE!
Yes :-)
