  • In this tutorial I will show you how to reroot doll hair without using a reroot tool. This technique that requires no special tools and supplies, will be useful for beginners.
    Here you can find the first episode of Your First Custom Doll series:
    • Your First Custom Doll...
    In this video I explain which tools, materials and supplies you can use to repaint your own Monster High or Barbie doll, which pencils to choose, what kind of pastels you can use for dolls, how to seal doll face before customizing.
    The second episode of Your First Custom Doll is here:
    • Your First Custom Doll...
    There you see how to prepare your Monster High and Barbie dolls for customizing. I explain how to remove doll make up and factory paint, how to remove doll hair and how to remove doll head. And here you can also find a couple of doll lifehacks.

    thank you for sharing this! what a clever idea!!! I've never seen this method before! this seems much more beginner friendly then using a reroot tool that could pop open a scalp! im going to have to try this when I start customizing soon!

    Thank you! I found my old My Scene doll and I want to give her a makeover. I burnt a small part of her hair with a flat iron when I was 11 years old I think, and I kinda want to try reroot her hair but I don't know how and I don't have a tool. It's hard to look for one here in my country.

    Hmmm....have you ever tried a long-eye beading needle? They are very fine, so they would be easy to get thru the holes in the doll head, and since they are essentially 2 wires joined together, you have more than 2 inches of space to thread the weft through.

    • @Aerosklice
      @Aerosklice 5 лет назад +1

      A reroot tool is faster and more precise, here you need to find the correct hole from the inside and pass the hair through the needle every time which is quite time consuming.

    • @kateworkman921
      @kateworkman921 5 лет назад +1

      @@Aerosklice
      Is it really more time consuming than grabbing a few strands, hooking them in the reroot tool, poking them through the head, then repeating that a hundred or so times?
      I'm legit asking, btw. I haven't been able to try either method yet.

    People if you use the hair dryer technique make sure the hair dryer isn’t too close to the doll’s head as the plastic may get a bit burnt and would be ideal for you to use heat resistant material to protect your hairs if the heat of the hair dryer goes in them if it takes awhile to get the (hopefully vegan and cruelty free) hair to stay in place.
