    I'd love to see it running RetroPie or Batocera, also emulating PS2. I'm looking for something small in the $200-$300 range that can run N64/GameCube/PS1/PS2 well, and if this fits the bill it may be my go-to.

      for less than $300 you won't find any (MINI PC) console that runs PS2 well. I bought several mini pc's without any luck except for the last one i bought. Of course you can buy steamdeck or ayn odin or another strong handheld but i'm more a guy who wants a mini pc like a mini console.
      And unfortunately mini pc's are a bit expensive. Bought mine last mini pc console for 400 and it was all configurated, it runs n64/gamecube/ps1 even upscaled and ps2 very well.

    It's so good to see an ethernet port on here. I had a Larkbox Pro for about 6 months before I sold it, and one of its major limitations for me was being stuck on wifi. I actually ended up getting a USB ethernet adapter but it was a piece of junk that never worked for me.

    Once I got a mini speaker that was pretty powerful, it was about that size with a similar appearance.
    Back then I though "It's amazing how they managed to fit a whole speaker that is this loud in this little box".
    Now look at these mini PCs, this is just amazing.

    Hi. I really like Your reviews. One thing though which I really find lacking in a lot of Your mini pc reviews, just like this one - thermals and fan noise.
    Please do it with every PC review, because it plays a big role in a mini pc like this.
    Why am I telling You this - because I own a Chuwi Larkbox, and that little PC (aside from being really usable as a low powered basic daily driver) has a really annoying fan - it ramps up and down all the time.
    Anyway, thank You for Your effort, Your videos are great.
    PS, if You can, do the review for the EliteMini JB95 - on paper it sounds like a good low powered daily driver, but with very little info around the web :)

      Games are possible to play with upscaling A.I. This is how it works, you set the game on lowest resolution possible to gain the maximum fps you can get. Then you upscale the game to fit your tv or monitor. I highly recommended "Magic Borderless" to create artificial 720p, you go to modify to set on 1280x720 for 720p. Then use another app called "Lossless Scaling" to throw "FSR" and "HDR" on the game. Graphics cards are overrated and overpriced. Upscaling is king. As long as you can gain fps on lowest resolution possible. Upscaling will always work.

    • @esteveguineueta2328
      @esteveguineueta2328 2 года назад

      @@100Bucks It depends, if you're very picky it does not work well. I'm the kind of person that totally hates dynamic resolution for example, because it creates artifacts. With this is the same, you don't get the high resolution, you're emulating half the pixels like you were zooming a jpg picture. Sure, for some people it will be ok, but I prefer to have my totally sharp images on screen. When you're emulating a console it's different, because these have so low resolution that if you don't use any filter you will see pixels as big as a dinosaur.
      I guess it depends on what do you like and how sharp is your eye :)

    • @100Bucks
      @100Bucks 2 года назад

      @@esteveguineueta2328 Resolution is just a box to me and the minimum mark to get HD is 720p. As long as the square is HD it's good enough to upscale to 4k. I'm completely done rendering games in 4k. Upscaling a box is better in my opinion. My eyes are happy with the results. Use 10 percent GPU power to upscale to 4k or use 100 percent GPU power to render 4k. Upscaling is better and you can keep the same GPU for life.

    4 core celeron? Interesting. Would be neat to see this sort of power in a revised Intel Compute stick. I'm not sure the form factor makes it much more appealing than some other mini PCs as it's already at the point of diminshing returns from it's size and doesn't have the appeal the compute sticks have. Personally i'd rather get a Ryzen based miniPC that's a bit bigger and a lot stronger for not much more money.

    • @jameskai1018
      @jameskai1018 2 года назад

      I don't think so, this machine is very powerful despite its small size. You can't use size to determine whether it's powerful or not. Like the world's first computer is very big, but very stupid

    • @esteveguineueta2328
      @esteveguineueta2328 2 года назад +1

      4 core celerons exist since ages ago, this isn't new. But these ones are the first ones to be on 10nm, so the performance bump is quite big in comparison to the last gen ones.

    2) Hardware screws WEAK... When I opened it to see what was upgradable and put the plastic cover back on one screw snapped really easy and then a 2nd screw head stripped. I was not man-handling the screws and and this should not have happened. This was main reason for return.

    I got a GMK Nucbox (probably one version behind this one). I was impressed with the speed. This is about the size of an orange. It starts up fast. I bought this as I needed a file server. However, they were costing a small fortune and they were just too big.
    The GMK is a tiny cute product. I don't know how they achieve the price. As teh cost of the Windows 11 license is a small fortune and it is included.
    The downside (on my older version GNK), is the the fan does get noisy when processing. It is silent, but it will get noisy. I bought it used on eBay, so it may be an issue with the variant I bought. However, GMK to different variants (including a fanless version). The wi-fi works great. It was running it on 4K. Not sure if I would want to have this running 24/7....

    3:50 uh, by the way, windows scaling does not affect resolution preference of the youtube player. yes, the viewport value shows a lower resolution with scaling percentage as a multiplier at the end, but it's not like it's downscaling a 4k video into a 1080p viewport then upscaling back or something like that, or it won't pick 1440p max instead of 4k as "optimal resolution" because of the scaling

      Those are already well served by OEM monitor stand PCs like Dell's optiplex 7070 or regular All in ones. There's also the risk of it being stolen more easily because of size. Maybe pricewise it's competitive, but it has it's flaws.

    To use RTSS on MCBE you should
    1. Enable hidden folders in explorer
    2. Go to RTSS and navigate to C:/Program Files/WindowsApps/
    3. Go to the folder that starts with Microsoft.MinecraftUWP
    4. Add the executable and enjoy!

    Did I miss that, or did you not address the noise of the mini-PC? Is the fan active when the device is in idle mode?
    How loud is the fan during office applications or web browsing? Is it an annoying sound, or is it not very annoying?

    I like the small size and might make a nice little mini htpc box with LibreELEC Kodi v19.x. I was also looking at the Asus PN41 with the N5100 (PN41-SYSF541PAFL) that I saw on CDW Canada for $394 CAD. Should I expect similar expectations with the Asus PN41?
