Traditional martial artists are ALWAYS shrieking about: "the reason nobody uses our martial art in 'sport fighting' is because there are too many rules! Our martial art was created to fight without rules, where anything goes!" And the moment you challenge them to a fight, they keep trying to impose crippling rules that prevent the other side from doing any techniques on them.

Thanks Bro. I just got inspiration to write a screenplay for a comedy movie, in the same vein as "Shaolin Soccer". It will be called "Tai Chi Wrestling".
If you fight in the streets there are no agreements, and you ain't going to do s*** with Tai chi in the street you going to get your ass kicked, with a fighter who trains in boxing and wrestling or just a straight up boxer or a straight up wrestler. Never mind putting in other styles of kicking and kneeing like Muay Thai. This is why we have the MMA it's been proven that none of those styles work, you have to have a complete style That's why the Gracie's beat everybody in the UFC, Kung Fu guys karate guys boxers, even a sumo wrestler. And now MMA so complete that you need the full spectrum, of the blended arts called MMA.
I never liked Xu much because he just seemed like he hated kung fu guys for no reason. But now I can see why he gets so pissed off, because even when he shows respect to these guys, they are sore losers and do not return that respect.
He always stated he hated fraudulent kung fu and self proclaimed kung fu masters. There are just too many out there with no pressure testing who get obliterated in sparring and real fights. Then you have the ones who cant fight at all...

I wish to see matches between different schools of fight using their own style. When they set a rule for the fight, it doesn't prove anything about their own system.
I like that this channel finds cool footage. I’m a little confused by all these challenges and supposed split between “traditional” cma and “new”. One of many examples would be Chen village folks. They fight in kickboxing and other types of tournaments a lot. And do well. This Taiji guy just didn’t realize what he was dealing with cuz he’s gotten older and fatter but not more humble. He may be good at push hands in his bracket but they don’t go for the legs as far as I know and usually don’t even snap the back of the neck down. And he may have never crosstrained. I’m 45 and do some Taiji and Bagua and sometimes boxing and mma and Muay Thai. But I more focus on going slow because that’s what my body type needs. I have read that back in the day Bagua guys usually also did wrestling. That’s good and I know lots of guys that are missing that element in their practice. The younger guy looks to have a good amount of wresting. And IMO wrestling has the toughest conditioning. So trying to wrestle a wrestler is usually gonna lead to a good humbling lesson. These guys are just all up in their feelings.
I'm a big fan of Xu Xiaodong, I'm Canadian and don't speak Chinese but I am subscribed to his channel. It is extremely unfair the treatment he gets just for telling and showing the truth about fighting. He doesn't want people lied to or ripped off and because of that on T.V. in China he has to wear facepaint. He deserves so much better, he's a great person and great fighter.
Traditional Kung Fu be like: We train to perfect body, to hit vital points, to kill in one move. We don't train for the ring. There is no rule in tight situations. Also traditional Kung Fu in tight situations: No, don't do that please. That is not what I agree. Stand still so I can hit your vital point. Stop moving so much.

From my view, that Tai chi guy is not the high level skill enough on Taichi push hand. However, I also dont think that Taichi could beat wrestler on wrestling, but Taichi has more techniques on punch, shoulder etc, lacking of these it's very hard to beat wrestler.
Tai Chi master does not really have good moves because his base and centre of gravity are all over the place. Whatever his top half is doing is irrelevant because of that It looks like he is used to using his weight to dominate rather than technique which is why he is so easy to off balance and take down
@@FightCommentary Haha well that's also the secret to getting your balance broken instantly The key foundation of all stand up grappling is to break someone else's balance while not being vulnerable yourself, which is a skill this guy just straight up doesn't have
Yeah, I think he's used to using his weight to push people around. So he's not got too much skill, but seeing how he moved, he had a lot of potential if he actually humbled himself and tried to get outside his tai chi paradigm. But alas, it's probably never going to happen.
@@FightCommentary yeah I agree, I would be willing to bet that with a brush up on some good fundamentals and just a lot of sparring he could be pretty formidable Same with any of the Tai Chi people that actually do practice against real live resisting opponents, I am sure their stuff could work irl Just need good basics and a lot of sparing hours and almost any style will become highly functional
this "master" probably have outpushed all his students and most other hobbist martial artists that he met, and probably developed certain attributes to win over those who are weaker, slower and less skilled. before Xu's student he has never faced that level of pressure and speed, couldn't follow the pace of the wrestler. Let's say he can probably outpush 80% of those who never trained, but all it does is boost his ego, make him a big infant so he can't accept failure. Sadly many traditional artists- or most Chinese- were not properly educated about failure.
If doing push hands with movement should it nit be done slowly and with out force as to exchange ideas a d learn ones central li e a d limits to grow and learn to me
I don’t get it? What is this? Why are they wrestling? Why is the one guy young and in perfect shape and the other guy is old, moves slow and is just over weight? How can they get so mad about a simple beat down? I guess I only have questions? The guy gets in a fight losses. Goes home and wants another fight but, now he wants full contact no rules. Then arms. Then nuclear weapons. 😂 Thank you, had to watch this again!
It would be interesting to see a team comp of Kapu Kuialua (Polynesian) versus Mongolian wrestling vs Greco Roman vs Laamb (Senegalese ) wrestling. Perhaps they are similar enough that rules could be made that could accommodate all four styles ?
Best job i've ever seen a tai chi guy do. I'm actually pretty impressed. I think the gripe about knee on belly was legit. Still didn't win. Got dominated
I worked for a lot of years trying to accomplish what this "taichi" guy thinks he can do. That "sprawl" was the antithesis of the "yielding" and redirecting that the art teaches. You can't just do the form and push hands and think you can deal with explosive grapplers like that. You actually have to train with those guys. Many years ago when I lived near serra's school in Huntington NY he had an awesome "take down" class. There was no grappling, once you hit the floor it was over. You started on your feet and went till someone was down. If it was your turn you went against every guy in class, one after the other. It was fast paced and awesome. But the class was dropped because not many people wanted to do it. Most bjj guys would rather not do that shit. Then I trained at att in Asheville for a while. Point being, you have to test your abilities and train with real grapplers. I had flashes of success. But to do the "push hands" type redirection against guys like that takes a tremendous amount of skill and training from someone that actually knows what they are doing, and they are few. And you have to do it from childhood, which I did not. Eventually I gave up because I was always injured and it started to effect my ability to earn a living.
I didn't even think about about using BJJ. Imagine if Xu took the back and then applied a RNC. But likely tai chi side not not agree to submissions. Would have been a great match. I should ask Xu if he ever replied to this guy after that second challenge.
For clarity, master of push hands got pushed out of bounds multiple times when both fighters were upright too. Dude lost in his supposed specialisation
If the Tai Chi master, had true internal Chi, he should be unmovable, like a rock, at least for a few minutes. Qi Gong, is the internal Chi that iam talking about.
Chi as used in chinese and Ki as used in japanese translates roughly to "breath". it has nothing to do with projecting or focusing some magical energy that can do incredible things. as far as i know, every or almost every martial arts style teaches some kind of breathing technique to help with not running out of gas in a fight. this also involves increasing lung capacity through extended exercises that require more lung capacity and lung control than most people have.
@@lonnierh0dgejr41indeed. when you hear extraordinary claims, ya gotta ask for that extraordinary evidence. when i hear "types of chi" and "he should be unmovable cuz chi" i smell a stinker of a magical thinker

@@teovu5557 everybody was still far too hung up on styles when bruce lee started JKD. it was bruce lee that got me away from my obsession with styles. well said.
@@teovu5557 i never said it was martial art if you did read closely. I said jkd is close to mma ( mix martial art ) . Cause it mix a bunch of stuff together that being said might had a better chance against the xu xiaodong students cause he believes in mma more
@tonyroronoa7357 It's not about mixing, is just about using your body the best way possibly. JKD Concepts teaches the mixing but thats not real JKD
@@Bartron_Flat_Earth And the result is, No wing chun and Tai chi can beat MMA..
Thanks for the videos.
This never gets old
Thanks Bro. I just got inspiration to write a screenplay for a comedy movie, in the same vein as "Shaolin Soccer". It will be called "Tai Chi Wrestling".
Are there any clips on this guy fighting a Choy Lee Fut practitioner? If so could you please share the link?
He does and still hates them he hates traditional martial arts as a whole and it's very obvious, he just uses that as an excuse to cover up his real intentions and what's even sadder is that a lot of you are dumb enough to fall for his bs
If that taiji guy spent 6 months of wresting or shuai jiao he would be really good
And lost some of that beer belly. Honestly tai chi guy could be so good if he dropped his ego and excuses.
Did you record these videos in an English speaking country ? where you at?
Hey bro where you from? I hear Buffalo accent but … ?
Mma looks like a more realistic kind of self defence.
Great video!
Stop moving so much.
love your coverage Jerry1
Thanks! More to come!
Is your Mandarin good enough to interview the wrestler in this video? I can put you in contact with him.
I WOULD LOVE TO INTERVIEW HIM! Please connect us! My wechat is jerryasmr if that's easy for him.
I added you and asked him. He said it was fine. He should be adding you soon as well. If not, I can make a group chat after you add me. My name is Rich.@@FightCommentary
@@FightCommentary please tell me the interview actually happened/is happening/will happen 😭😭😭 I'd be so stocked to watch your interview!!
Its nonsense. If you cannot hook the leg what is the point of grabbing the leg?
Exactly
please keep us up to date on xu. the world needs him
Never heard about Tang wen long name in Tai chi. Anyways, they try to combat on wrestling only?
From my view, that Tai chi guy is not the high level skill enough on Taichi push hand. However, I also dont think that Taichi could beat wrestler on wrestling, but Taichi has more techniques on punch, shoulder etc, lacking of these it's very hard to beat wrestler.
Man. Xu Xiao Dong was really pissed.
If you're in any type of martial art you should have some sort of stamina this person has zero.
The Tai Chi Master just can't accept that what he practices just don't work.
Hes used to pushing around new students that don't know any better.
Est-ce un maître ?
C'est plutôt qu'il n'arrive pas à appliquer cet art martial je pense .
I think tai chi have a potential to work
Man, you don't know nothing about Tai Chi.
@@ramqi6239 taichi is only normal exercise
All of them complain… let them complain in a street fight…
Tai Chi master does not really have good moves because his base and centre of gravity are all over the place. Whatever his top half is doing is irrelevant because of that
It looks like he is used to using his weight to dominate rather than technique which is why he is so easy to off balance and take down
He does lean a lot. You see that in push hands people sometimes. They lean their entire weight on people. That's their secret to Kongjin ;)
@@FightCommentary Haha well that's also the secret to getting your balance broken instantly
The key foundation of all stand up grappling is to break someone else's balance while not being vulnerable yourself, which is a skill this guy just straight up doesn't have
Yeah, I think he's used to using his weight to push people around. So he's not got too much skill, but seeing how he moved, he had a lot of potential if he actually humbled himself and tried to get outside his tai chi paradigm. But alas, it's probably never going to happen.
@@FightCommentary yeah I agree, I would be willing to bet that with a brush up on some good fundamentals and just a lot of sparring he could be pretty formidable
Same with any of the Tai Chi people that actually do practice against real live resisting opponents, I am sure their stuff could work irl
Just need good basics and a lot of sparing hours and almost any style will become highly functional
this "master" probably have outpushed all his students and most other hobbist martial artists that he met, and probably developed certain attributes to win over those who are weaker, slower and less skilled. before Xu's student he has never faced that level of pressure and speed, couldn't follow the pace of the wrestler.
Let's say he can probably outpush 80% of those who never trained, but all it does is boost his ego, make him a big infant so he can't accept failure. Sadly many traditional artists- or most Chinese- were not properly educated about failure.
Yep. Him against normies he wins on body mass alone. Gave him an ego.
If doing push hands with movement should it nit be done slowly and with out force as to exchange ideas a d learn ones central li e a d limits to grow and learn to me
is the shouting guy that uses MMA style beat Wing Chun sifu with K.O on previously fight?
Yep
I don’t get it?
What is this?
Why are they wrestling?
Why is the one guy young and in perfect shape and the other guy is old, moves slow and is just over weight?
How can they get so mad about a simple beat down?
I guess I only have questions?
The guy gets in a fight losses. Goes home and wants another fight but, now he wants full contact no rules. Then arms. Then nuclear weapons.
😂
Thank you, had to watch this again!
The Tai Chi guy was full, he had just taken his lunch earlier.😂
It would be interesting to see a team comp of Kapu Kuialua (Polynesian) versus Mongolian wrestling vs Greco Roman vs Laamb (Senegalese ) wrestling. Perhaps they are similar enough that rules could be made that could accommodate all four styles ?
I did not see the neon belly.
Never knew this was even possible.
Xu sounding like Clubber Lang here 😀
That's hilarious!
Great fun video!!!😂😂
Best job i've ever seen a tai chi guy do. I'm actually pretty impressed. I think the gripe about knee on belly was legit. Still didn't win. Got dominated
you dont watch this channel much then
are there tai chi guys that did better?@@jacksmith4460
How has Influencer Boxing not picked up Xu Xiaodong yet?
"8 seconds".
That is the answer to your "How long would this guy last against Xu?" question.
Yeah but what has been of Xiu Xaodong? I used to follow his quest of unmasking fake masters, but it's been a while since the last fight I know of
So good to see Xu Xiaodong doing ok. He’s a bit of a beast 👌
Keep sifting out the fakes from the actual fighters who put in the hours and the work.
How long would that Tai Chi Master last against Xu Xiaodong? How fast can someone tap out? Seriously.
I didn't even think about about using BJJ. Imagine if Xu took the back and then applied a RNC. But likely tai chi side not not agree to submissions. Would have been a great match. I should ask Xu if he ever replied to this guy after that second challenge.
How long would he last? Not long.
Tai Chi guy needs to stay off those dumplings, he rolled like the dumpling! lolzz
I'm interested in what happens if the two teachers fight/spar
Great vid. I'm in.
For clarity, master of push hands got pushed out of bounds multiple times when both fighters were upright too. Dude lost in his supposed specialisation
Yep
yo, i like the green screen man
Next time I'm in a street fight , going to call time out time out LMAO 😂
Might work if you had a lot of friends backing you up
@@FightCommentary lol for sure. Hey bro like your channel. What ever happened to the Russian master? That was hilarious!
If the Tai Chi master, had true internal Chi, he should be unmovable, like a rock, at least for a few minutes. Qi Gong, is the internal Chi that iam talking about.
oh so you truly believe that "internal chi" exists? or are you poking fun with sarcasm? cuz ya sound like you believe in magic
@@lonnierh0dgejr41im gonna go ahead and say breathing techniques do not make you "unmovable (sic) like a rock"
@@21centdregs no, lowering your center of mass and keeping your opponent from getting any leverage does. yes, i do love science. 🤓
@@lonnierh0dgejr41indeed. when you hear extraordinary claims, ya gotta ask for that extraordinary evidence. when i hear "types of chi" and "he should be unmovable cuz chi" i smell a stinker of a magical thinker
