I loved your closing thoughts Lisa, especially what you said about our excitement for the thing existing vs. our excitement and ultimate ability to use the deck in the long term. For me personally there is often this intersection of, "the art is beautiful, and the idea/message is so important and profound, surely I'm meant to have it" when in fact I either already have something similar in my collection, or I don't need it. Also if one has been amassing decks for a few years, the novelty does wear off a bit. I think the period when I collected most of my decks., between 2018 and 2021, was an incredibly fruitful one, and now I'm finding that a lot of the new stuff is just a variation on an overused theme. A deck really needs to be extraordinary, and appeal to me on all levels, for me to consider adding it to my collection.
I admit it. I caved on the Intuitive Night Goddess tarot 😬 I also initially talked myself out of it because I have the Enchanted tarot and could see similarities, but...it's on sale 😂

I’ve been waiting for it to come back... and you talked about it! THANK YOU, THANK YOU. So EXCITED to get it. I’m a little early, but that is my March deck! The last one I scurried over to hit the buy button on was The Shimmering Veil Tarot. It just came in the mail and I love it. It’s my February deck. 😁 I should stop watching but that Cosmic one is calling my name...uh-oh.
The Enchanted Tarot was the first deck I modded and the edges are a bit sketchy (all done with scissors not guillotine), but I kind of love how it feels so textured which goes with the deck so well.
Totally agree that you can appreciate all the things without purchasing necessarily. I probably only buy 1-5% (total guess😅) of all the reviews and flip throughs that I watch. I like to look. And I have been trying to take your advice about evaluating a deck before it comes in my collection. Before my last indie purchase I made a list of the category it fits in and the other decks that I wouldn't need if I had it 😁💖👍
Hello. I just now found your channel. I’m just learning tarot, and so far I only own one oracle deck and a few tarot decks, so it’s nice to hear your thoughts. I’ve watched lots of readings by many different readers, and I’ve only come across one Oracle deck so far that I would never considering buying. It’s because the messages feel contrived and limiting, and I don’t like the overall aesthetic of the deck. But I’m still learning. Thanks for a great video! New subscriber!
Not me pausing this video to go check my Playful Heart tarot for the subtle colour coding! I didn’t notice that 😳 I think we have similar idea about the divine and the guidance presence in this world. I wish I am less specific because that will make me pick a deck .. but nope. It doesn’t help. Whenever I see a human figure .. I tend to think of it as an archetype not as a higher guidance. After all, I have a specific style dealing with tarot and oracles based on my spiritual practice. I don’t adhere to a certain line of teaching .. so it’s me problem. I am slways jealous when people talk about their experiences with a deck like that because I never can relate lolol .. self torture! I am so interested in the portal of presence but I haven’t get to finish my journey with soul cards 1 and 2 … one day I will deal with it.. when I do ancestors work .. I am using the wisdom keepers oracle for that .. The hero’s journey was a deck I didn’t get because I love the Journey of love. I always feared that they will be so similar to each other :) .. i think matte would be a perfect finish for it The intuitive night goddess is extreme dangerous if you watched Dani’s review 😅. Thanks to you, I have done a 're-interview' of all of my decks (tarot and oracle), writing down their answers, keeping my results on a paper graph in a journal of what they might be good for, their ease of shuffle and read, and overall rating. I have culled a lot of decks doing this and am now able to easily use your own 'do I have one already to scratch the itch?' tactic when I see a new deck pop up. I have both oracles by Ravyne; I love her artwork. I used to have the Dreams of Gaia but traded it as the system was too different for me to take the time and learn. I do want the Cosmic Seeker deck badly, and do not have one that rivals its theme, so I think I will get it. You are right, there are a ton available, but I'm less 'fomo' now; I hear your voice in my head... "Do I really need it?" :)

Yes the cardstock is same as Pagan Otherworlds. Luscious and wonderful. Playful Heart is one of my top five favorite decks of all time.
Hi Lisa, I am a longtime viewer and I want to say, I really liked your old setup where it was you in your room with no colored lighting. It really made it feel like I was hanging out with a friend in a cozy bedroom just talking tarot. Anyway, just some food for thought and fan input to consider. Either way, I'll keep watching.
Your reaction to unicorns is my reaction to dragons, I want all the dragon decks but so many miss the mark for me, but l thank goodness for Adam and Stephanie and Smoke , Ash and Embers so I won’t be getting any dragon deck this one arrives in my hands
I just talked about how I want an enneagram deck and it's here! I missed the kickstarter but it's so exciting, if I'd been drinking while watching your video the tea would be all over the screen :D more enneagram decks on the market, please! P.S.: yeah I think it could become useful when you learn a bit more about enneagram since there are types you move towards during stress or in the process of inner grow, there are wings... so basically you are connected with three or four other types besides your own. and with Peggy on board maybe you will make use of all types :D
Loved your final thoughts. That's why I enjoy these videos... I can coo over new things without having to have them all. I recently did not buy the Celtic Spirit oracle. I love all this Celtic BUT I am not really into fairies so I suspect that might end up a collector's item and not a deck I'd use. Celtic Universal Tarot is one I have that is also full of fairies and isn't in regular use.
I so appreciated your take on the Mother Tarot vs. Out Grow Yourself. I’ve got my eye on both and have a similar take that they would compete too closely. Also, watching you speak about unicorn decks makes me giggle 💗🦄

I thought about Madam Lydia but after sending an email asking for information and not receiving an answer for weeks and weeks I decided not to buy it. Customer service is a plus for me 🤷 plus the creator do some random restocking there and there and it sells out too quickly. It restocks when my time is around 2AM-3AM so... There's really no opportunity to get it for me 😂. Even though there's pre order, I found another decks that can replace the feelings I once had with the Madam Lydia when I saw it 😂.
The creator was hospitalized for months. She almost passed away, and I imagine his husband was overwhelmed, though he would restock every now and then to cover medical costs. Luckily she's doing a little better now. But that might have been why they didn't reply.
The creator has ongoing health issues. You are right though. There has never been anything available any time I have looked over the past couple years here and there.
I think that Three Trees Tarot would make the perfect unicorn deck. I want medevil unicorns so bad. I have The Last Unicorn tarot ordered, but I don't think I'll use it bc I'm such a fan. I dont want to ruin them.
I pre-ordered the Penumbra Tarot based on a reaction to 1 card. Ultimately, I'm not really interested in the deck now that I have it. 🤷♀️ Lesson learned I suppose.
They will be re-releasing Bohemian Gothic in the next year or two. They are not reprinting Bohemian cats because they are in the (slow, meticulous) process of creating an entirely new Bohemian Cats deck (actual title pending I think)
Ohhhh that dragon deck is perfection! I am sooo picky about dragons (I hate 80's/ fantasy style illustrations). Sigh another deck goes on my list. I too love the mythical creatures, it's my go to deck. Good for you for reigning yourself in - I am still waffling the deviant moon illustrated pips.
I like dragons, but I'm not super into them, so Smoke Ash and Embers will be my one dragon deck. I'm still on the hunt for 'my' cat deck, and I know that the same artist has worked on a cat deck that's coming out later this year, so I'm hopeful! Now, if he'd just do an otter/mustelid deck and a cephalopod deck...
Oh yes, Soul cats tarot is definitely on my wishlist. I love cats but haven't had a need or even been really interested in pre-existing cat decks, but when it's Adam Oehlers' art in a cat deck, I don't think I need to even see all the cards to know I NEED that deck. Or at least want it too badly to pass it. I also like Leeza's writing style, so it's a plus plus and probably only cat deck I'll ever need 🥰
When you said pastel unicorn my mind directly downloaded The crystal unicorn Tarot. I have been on the fence with Mmslle Lydia before. I am again. I have an even more similar deck, the Crooked Way Gothic Tarot. Sigh. I am funny about my dragons and unicorns too...they're magical...okay?! I really enjoyed Peggy's voice in the hot takes vid.
Just noticed that a new unicorn deck has been launched on KS -Divine Tarot of the Unicorn. It's the first unicorn deck I've been tempted by since it's less cartoonish. I'm a little disappointed by the Two of Cups being a pink and blue unicorn when it could have been made easily more inclusive by choosing colors not associated with gender. Also I don't see all the cards posted, so I'm not sure if all the art is done. But it's pretty :)

I'm so tempted on the dragon tarot. I'm limiting myself to buying two decks this year (not counting trades), so its making me very picky on what I buy. I love dragons, but I think I'll wait until a full flip of it first.
All I need to know is that there is a new LOTR deck coming. I have an older one (gifted to me in high school) I have been a huge fan of LOTR since I read The Hobbit in grade 6. That is MY Fandom. I cannot wait to see what this deck looks like
I got like this with Botanica, which is super beautiful but I think the Kickstarter was in like Feb 2020 so it got super delayed and I think that was part of what killed the vibe. But also, while I loveeee nature and natural world decks (I find Majestic Earth hard to use, but somehow it makes more sense to me for that kind of thing…? Even tho they are both definitely art decks of a sort, I think Botanica was definitely an artist who wanted to just make a set, but it bounces right off me).
I went right on the Hay House website while watching this and bought the Goddesses, Gods and Guardians deck. Especially since someone commented they were having a sale 😂
I’m shocked at the Playful Heart Tarot mostly because I’m feeling like it’s time to move it on even though I just got it. But at the same time I love it. I’m not sure what to do honestly. Do you have a video about decks that might be having issues with? The Cosmic Tarot is the art style I wanted the labyrinth tarot to be. I’m still wanting a deck to fill that hole.
I backed The Maze Tarot and am so glad I did since it was so successful, it's now a pair of decks....the original and the underworld one....but as you don't do Marseille style, I guess don't bother with Suckling's cus now that I think about it, it's a Marseille too.
I have that old Lo Scarabeo Dragons Tarot, but... some of the imagery is a bit uncomfy. I like dragons a lot, so I am considering a different dragon deck. 😮 As always, thanks for sharing!
Thank you for this series! Would you also consider your "goddess on earth oracle" in the "specific aspects of the divine" category? I had wondered if that would edge out your other goddess decks. Do you still have "dark goddess tarot" or other goddess tarots? Also, I need to see a full flip of the Great Eastern Oracle to decide which Rassouli deck to get!
Oh man, that one is new to my collection.... but it has a different feel to me than the Goddess Oracle or Witches of Legend - I think because it feels more.... expansive in its' use? And yes.... I still have Dark Goddess Tarot too :D

(Editing to add I think I just picked up the Chemoinette deck bc of you....I could not get it out of my head so that was that, plus I've got nothing like it. I'm downsizing others but with no boxes on some & no FB 🤷♀️)
Any mass market you have with boxes (not sure about without but worth checking), you can always check with a local used bookstore or (even better) metaphysical store to see if you can turn in for store credit! :) Definitely an option if you don't do FB! Ebay works great for indie deks!

Oh I got so excited there for a moment. I LOVE Lord of the Rings. But sadly I don't enjoy the style of the Labyrinth Tarot and have not got it despite my love of that movie. So maybe I'll be surprised when it comes out but I think the pip style and just the art style generally is not my cup of tea. ☹
For the gods, goddesses and guardians, I think it's also an important point that in your hot takes you said it reminded you of the angels and ancestors oracle which in your this or that you just said is going...sooo
I bought A hero's Journey dream oracle last year (because I saw it in one of your videos, yes (and yes it's not the only deck that I've seen in your video and HAD to have lol)) and it's matt cardstock. (I bought it via czech e-shop but it's original (i.e. english, not translated) edition so I guess it should be the same for you.)) Anyway, funny, that I watch this video and a few times I could guess which of your deck you'll pick "instead" right the moment I see the picture of the anti-hauled deck :D. (ok, not gonna lie, I partly watch these videos because of this game xD)
I find myself buying the next new thing and on my shelf it goes. Not because I don't like it but because I have so many. I'm considering the Terra Volatile deck but im back and forth. Do I really need it? Will I actually use it?
The Goddesses, Gods & Guardians tempted me for a second, but I didn't like a few of the cards and the keywords were limiting for me. Instead, I have my Gods and Titans and Goddesses and Sirens decks both by Stacey Demarco that I keep as a MEGA oracle in a Crown Royal bag with their guidebooks. The keywords are expansive and it reads great for me when I need to get to the heart of a situation.
I don't *think* you can still get both of those decks - If I remember correctly. There was a time I went looking to see if I wanted to work with both and I don't think I could find the Gods one - and maybe both? Hard to remember.
FickesArt has a lovely Lord of the Rings Tarot on ETSY that I adore. I also use The Hobbit Tarot (US Games), though prefer the LOR deck. I hope every day for a new printing of Baba Studio's Alice Tarot. 😢 Blessings to you and Peggy! 💫💜💫

I just talked about how I want an enneagram deck and it's here! I missed the kickstarter but it's so exciting, if I'd been drinking while watching your video the tea would be all over the screen :D more enneagram decks on the market, please!
P.S.: yeah I think it could become useful when you learn a bit more about enneagram since there are types you move towards during stress or in the process of inner grow, there are wings... so basically you are connected with three or four other types besides your own. and with Peggy on board maybe you will make use of all types :D

Loved your final thoughts. That's why I enjoy these videos... I can coo over new things without having to have them all. I recently did not buy the Celtic Spirit oracle. I love all this Celtic BUT I am not really into fairies so I suspect that might end up a collector's item and not a deck I'd use. Celtic Universal Tarot is one I have that is also full of fairies and isn't in regular use.
I so appreciated your take on the Mother Tarot vs. Out Grow Yourself. I’ve got my eye on both and have a similar take that they would compete too closely. Also, watching you speak about unicorn decks makes me giggle 💗🦄
I can see using Kindred Lines as a tool to write stories, so I think this is will be useful for fiction writer.
Babba studios is planning to reprint some decks but then they are planning to stop creating tarot decks 😞

I thought about Madam Lydia but after sending an email asking for information and not receiving an answer for weeks and weeks I decided not to buy it.
Customer service is a plus for me 🤷 plus the creator do some random restocking there and there and it sells out too quickly. It restocks when my time is around 2AM-3AM so... There's really no opportunity to get it for me 😂.
Even though there's pre order, I found another decks that can replace the feelings I once had with the Madam Lydia when I saw it 😂.
The creator was hospitalized for months. She almost passed away, and I imagine his husband was overwhelmed, though he would restock every now and then to cover medical costs. Luckily she's doing a little better now. But that might have been why they didn't reply.
The creator has ongoing health issues. You are right though. There has never been anything available any time I have looked over the past couple years here and there.

I think that Three Trees Tarot would make the perfect unicorn deck. I want medevil unicorns so bad. I have The Last Unicorn tarot ordered, but I don't think I'll use it bc I'm such a fan. I dont want to ruin them.
I pre-ordered the Penumbra Tarot based on a reaction to 1 card. Ultimately, I'm not really interested in the deck now that I have it. 🤷♀️ Lesson learned I suppose.

I'm waiting on the next edition of Bohemian Gothic and hoping for Bohemian Cats reprint too! Jumped on Madam Lydia when realised it was coming out!
They will be re-releasing Bohemian Gothic in the next year or two. They are not reprinting Bohemian cats because they are in the (slow, meticulous) process of creating an entirely new Bohemian Cats deck (actual title pending I think)
Ohhhh that dragon deck is perfection! I am sooo picky about dragons (I hate 80's/ fantasy style illustrations). Sigh another deck goes on my list.
I too love the mythical creatures, it's my go to deck. Good for you for reigning yourself in - I am still waffling the deviant moon illustrated pips.
I like dragons, but I'm not super into them, so Smoke Ash and Embers will be my one dragon deck. I'm still on the hunt for 'my' cat deck, and I know that the same artist has worked on a cat deck that's coming out later this year, so I'm hopeful! Now, if he'd just do an otter/mustelid deck and a cephalopod deck...
Oh yes, Soul cats tarot is definitely on my wishlist. I love cats but haven't had a need or even been really interested in pre-existing cat decks, but when it's Adam Oehlers' art in a cat deck, I don't think I need to even see all the cards to know I NEED that deck. Or at least want it too badly to pass it. I also like Leeza's writing style, so it's a plus plus and probably only cat deck I'll ever need 🥰

When you said pastel unicorn my mind directly downloaded The crystal unicorn Tarot. I have been on the fence with Mmslle Lydia before. I am again. I have an even more similar deck, the Crooked Way Gothic Tarot. Sigh. I am funny about my dragons and unicorns too...they're magical...okay?! I really enjoyed Peggy's voice in the hot takes vid.

Just noticed that a new unicorn deck has been launched on KS -Divine Tarot of the Unicorn. It's the first unicorn deck I've been tempted by since it's less cartoonish. I'm a little disappointed by the Two of Cups being a pink and blue unicorn when it could have been made easily more inclusive by choosing colors not associated with gender. Also I don't see all the cards posted, so I'm not sure if all the art is done. But it's pretty :)

I'm so tempted on the dragon tarot. I'm limiting myself to buying two decks this year (not counting trades), so its making me very picky on what I buy. I love dragons, but I think I'll wait until a full flip of it first.

All I need to know is that there is a new LOTR deck coming. I have an older one (gifted to me in high school) I have been a huge fan of LOTR since I read The Hobbit in grade 6. That is MY Fandom. I cannot wait to see what this deck looks like
I got like this with Botanica, which is super beautiful but I think the Kickstarter was in like Feb 2020 so it got super delayed and I think that was part of what killed the vibe. But also, while I loveeee nature and natural world decks (I find Majestic Earth hard to use, but somehow it makes more sense to me for that kind of thing…? Even tho they are both definitely art decks of a sort, I think Botanica was definitely an artist who wanted to just make a set, but it bounces right off me).

The Cosmic Tarot is the art style I wanted the labyrinth tarot to be. I’m still wanting a deck to fill that hole.

As for Dragon Tarot, I love love love my The Dragon Tarot by Nigel Suckling....so evocative!
I backed The Maze Tarot and am so glad I did since it was so successful, it's now a pair of decks....the original and the underworld one....but as you don't do Marseille style, I guess don't bother with Suckling's cus now that I think about it, it's a Marseille too.
I do enjoy both pip and marseille decks - but I don't reach for them as often as my RWS decks
I get the unicorn thing because I love phoenixes.
I have that old Lo Scarabeo Dragons Tarot, but... some of the imagery is a bit uncomfy. I like dragons a lot, so I am considering a different dragon deck. 😮 As always, thanks for sharing!
Thank you for this series! Would you also consider your "goddess on earth oracle" in the "specific aspects of the divine" category? I had wondered if that would edge out your other goddess decks. Do you still have "dark goddess tarot" or other goddess tarots? Also, I need to see a full flip of the Great Eastern Oracle to decide which Rassouli deck to get!
Oh man, that one is new to my collection.... but it has a different feel to me than the Goddess Oracle or Witches of Legend - I think because it feels more.... expansive in its' use? And yes.... I still have Dark Goddess Tarot too :D

I'm downsizing others but with no boxes on some & no FB 🤷♀️)
Any mass market you have with boxes (not sure about without but worth checking), you can always check with a local used bookstore or (even better) metaphysical store to see if you can turn in for store credit! :) Definitely an option if you don't do FB! Ebay works great for indie deks!

Oh I got so excited there for a moment. I LOVE Lord of the Rings. But sadly I don't enjoy the style of the Labyrinth Tarot and have not got it despite my love of that movie. So maybe I'll be surprised when it comes out but I think the pip style and just the art style generally is not my cup of tea. ☹

For the gods, goddesses and guardians, I think it's also an important point that in your hot takes you said it reminded you of the angels and ancestors oracle which in your this or that you just said is going...sooo

I bought A hero's Journey dream oracle last year (because I saw it in one of your videos, yes (and yes it's not the only deck that I've seen in your video and HAD to have lol)) and it's matt cardstock. (I bought it via czech e-shop but it's original (i.e. english, not translated) edition so I guess it should be the same for you.))
Anyway, funny, that I watch this video and a few times I could guess which of your deck you'll pick "instead" right the moment I see the picture of the anti-hauled deck :D. (ok, not gonna lie, I partly watch these videos because of this game xD)

I find myself buying the next new thing and on my shelf it goes. Not because I don't like it but because I have so many. I'm considering the Terra Volatile deck but im back and forth. Do I really need it? Will I actually use it?
The Goddesses, Gods & Guardians tempted me for a second, but I didn't like a few of the cards and the keywords were limiting for me. Instead, I have my Gods and Titans and Goddesses and Sirens decks both by Stacey Demarco that I keep as a MEGA oracle in a Crown Royal bag with their guidebooks. The keywords are expansive and it reads great for me when I need to get to the heart of a situation.
I don't *think* you can still get both of those decks - If I remember correctly. There was a time I went looking to see if I wanted to work with both and I don't think I could find the Gods one - and maybe both? Hard to remember.
