Just wanted to say in case anyone is wondering, the Mystical Cats Tarot and the Magical Dogs Tarot are both illustrated by Mickie Mueller. The book for the cat deck is written by Lunaea Weatherstone and the book for the dog deck is written by Dan Mueller, Mickie's husband. I'm a big fan of Mickie Mueller so I just wanted to get the info out there! She's an amazing artist! I love both of the decks!
My fav small (and reasonably-priced) deck in a tin right now is the Zillich Tarot (which I do toss in a bag and go 😊) Just love the watercolor artwork on them
That is a really pretty one and I've considered it off and on over the years... but the last time I seriously gave it thought, I discovered that the judgement card (Major Arcana XX) is mislabeled justice ... er at least I think it's mislabeled? Usually that's Judgement or in a Thoth deck (which this one definitely has some thoth influence), Adjustment. It throws me every time I see it LOL
The seed and sickle deck has been on and off my wishlist for months, I've gone into shops and it jumps out at me but I'm desperately trying to stop buying decks for a little while lol. It's calling me, especially after I saw the limited edition 😍😍😍 but I gotta be strong for a bit.
I started with the White Sage deck. I am so grateful to it for all the lessons I learned and the Chakra teaching. It also is so easy for osteoarthritis folks to work with. It stays close by with my When My Soul Whispered Oracle deck. But in one of those stretchy velour gimme bags Lisa dislikes because ...you know...Peggy bags.😀
I got that too for my daughter for Xmas. Love the tins; the Universal Waite in a tin I love- the size is great. Also Pixie’s Astounding Lenormand is great in a tin. The black and white Inversion Tarot is another fave tin too
I didn’t know the white sage tarot incorporated chakras! I love that! I’m trying to learn more abt chakras but I have a tough time connecting to chakra specific decks. I’ve just started with the chakra cards for belief change by Nikki Gresham-record. I may have to add the white sage tarot now! Thanks Lisa! ❤️
Thank you again, Lisa! Love your videos. I have and adore the Mystical Cats. The White Sage has gone on and off my own Say Yes to the Deck for years now... so cute, but a little pippish. The Wild Unknown is one that I could never get into (I only liked the Strength and Chariot cards), otherwise it's just too pippish.
Thanks Lisa, really cool content, the White Sage Tarot has just been added to my wish list 😊I can definitely vouch for the pocket Wild Unknown in the tin. When I first started out learning tarot, only about 12 months ago, I saw the regular sized Wild Unknown, thought it looked absolutely gorgeous, but didn't think I could connect to the images to read it intuitively as I sometimes have that problem with animal decks. Then I recently saw the little pocket sized one for only £8 (in the UK) and decided I would give it a go, and I am just completely obsessed with it! I use it all the time, and as you say it works well in large spreads too. It has my favourite ever 8 of Swords ❤
I'm using the Seed & Sickle this month as my daily oracle pull with the dawn booklet. I love it! so good. as a daily pull it really brightens up an altar too (imbolc green, red, yellow palette) with a splash of different colour.
Thank you for the review on tin desks! I've bought my first tin one and it's otw but I was a bit hesitant when I decided to buy it. But now I'm def tempted to buy more hehe
White Sage was my February deck purchase! (before watching this video, haha). Most of the pips (even ones that appeared random at first) do actually point to the card meanings! I did the chakra rainbow spread (included on that extra card) and got the most amazing reading that came up majors in every position and was spot-on! I wish it was slightly larger (as it doesn't fill up all the room in the tin and is even smaller than Chinese knock-offs), and I find the LWB derails me more than helps with readings, but it's such a gorgeous example of a stripped-back tarot deck that still really sings! In that way, much like the Wild Unknown (btw, were any other cards changed for the mini WU?) Have you covered Forest of Enchantment Tarot yet? That's prob my fave MM deck to date. (And I think my next purchase will be another MM, Next World Tarot, thanks to Katy Flowers loving it so hard). :)
I absolutely love the White Sage to Tarot in a tin I pair it with the mass market edition of When My Soul Whispered Oracle so beautiful together in looks and readings. Thanks for another wonderful video
Oh my! I am so glad to see you enjoying Seed and Sickle! I bought it for myself for Xmas and fell in love instantly. So I was a little bummed out that it didn't seem to work for you. Happy to know it grew on you. :3
Killing me with the Seed and Sickle. It was just in my cart and back out again on Friday! Like others it may be one I have to have in my hands to really know.
It's eye catching for sure. If I was more into oracle decks I'd be the same way, only so much you can tell by looking and some I thought I'd love I didn't when they arrived and vice versa 🤷♀️
I have the Wild Unknown in a tin and the Seed & Sickle (though I splashed out for the LE - I live in the UK so it was pretty affordable) and love them both! I'd like to put in a good word for the Dreaming Way tarot, a lovely deck from US Games - the artwork is beautiful and it's an easy read even without the LWB, clearly RWS-based without being a "clone"
I have the White Sage tarot deck and love it so much! I tend to not work with pippish decks but that deck is the exception for me. ❤️Some of my other favorite mass market decks: 1) Victorian Fairy tarot by Lunea Weatherstone which I think is out of print but is my favorite all rounder deck 2) Everyday Witch tarot by Blake: it reads sooo well and is clear and honest 3) Goddess Dreams oracle: this deck is wonderful and has such a lovely little guidebook 4)Tarot of Mystical Moments: this is a newer deck to me but I am reaching for it almost daily. Such a great deck with such evocative imagery to use as a jumping off point. I find it reads so intuitively
Great video 💕 I haven't heard of the White Sage Tarot, it is now on my list. 😀 I'm SO thrilled that you feel in love with the Seed and Sickle. It's beauty always catches me, and it reads very accurately. My go to every day. Thanks for sharing your insight and your talents with us. 🙏
I also like the dusk meanings for the Seed & Sickle more. The cards are gorgeous and it bids fair to become a favorite for shuffling. I may need to move up getting the Wild Unknown tarot to see how I like it with the Archetypes deck. I have been feeling rather meh about the Archetypes deck lately but I think I need to try it with the tarot deck before I decide I don't want it anymore.
I recently picked up the Wise Dog Tarot only because I loved my Crow tarot so much but it’s been such a surprisingly fantastic reader - feel like the walkthroughs I had watched previously did not do it justice! Also out of the mass markets I recently picked up really like uncommon tarot, journey to enlightenment tarot, heart and hands tarot and haindl tarot. Another great video thanks Lisa! ❤️
I love my Wild Unknown in a tin. . I have both the standard size decks, but just something special about the mini. I also have tha Magical Dogs and I'm debating about getting the Mystical Cats. I also wanted to point out that they are by the same artist. . Prob why they go so well together. Seed and Sickle is also on my wishlist . Can't decide between that and the Herbcrafters Tarot. Many times watching your video is the tipping point. They've helped me decide what's really for me. Love your comments and enthusiasm.
I love my Magical Dogs and Mystical Cats deck! I am not normally a cat person... but the personalities of these animals are so well integrated into the cards that it's just so easy to read them. They make a wonderful pair.
Awesome video as always, Lisa! For the first time, I don't have any of the decks you shared. I have the full size wild unknown, so I guess technically, yes, I do have one! I did have the White Sage, and the animal major arcana are what captured me. But I didn't connect with the pips. Some are beautiful but a lot of the cups and swords were too pippish and it anchored me to the book. That's definitely subjective as I'm a beginner! Gifted it to a friend who is even more of a beginner and always uses the guidebooks to figure out her readings, and she loved it. Happy it went to a good home. 8-)
I am amazed by me disregarding the White sage tarot all these years! I even had the chance to own the indie version but I wasn’t interested. I saw it featured many times in your videos and others yet I never saw it until now 😳. Now, I want it .. especially after seeing the chakra associations. The wild unknown… I am dying to know where my indie version has gone. I assume it went missing during the messy year of 2018 .. My last photo of it was in 2017 .. Wait .. so Seed and Sickle stayed? You were not sure about it before. I am glad it worked for you. My order was placed back in (Oct/Nov?) after seeing Dani’s box opening of the special edition version. It only got shipped in Jan! And I am from the UK! Lol
LOL Yup (re Seed & Sickle). :) If you watch my PNW Tarot walkthrough - I first pair them then - and then the Show & Tell that followed I reported back - it's a keeper!!! Hope you love it!
Oooh I'm early! I really wanted to give my thoughts on some of the decks. The White Sage Tarot wasn't my thing. I think when animal decks aren't centered around 1 type of animal (like Tarot Renard or Magical Dogs Tarot) I get confused lol. My only deck in a tin now is the Wild Unknown, which has a new colouring and I LOVE that. The rainbow colours in the Justice card was the reason I even got the deck. I've never been into the Wild Unknown deck, but somehow now that I have it, I'm VERY connected to it. I'm more of a dog person, so the Magical Dogs Tarot is one of my faves. The guidebook is amaaaazing and I feel like these decks are very underrated, so I'm happy you highlighted them! Another super exciting video and thanks so much for sharing 💕
I'm not into animal decks but still have Wild Unknown (full size), which I love, thinking of the tin now LOL! Like everyone else who aren't into them yet still have it, theres something about it. A Gateway Deck if you will? 😋(and I'm a dog person too & happy to see we get some decks with the cat folks LOL! I havent found The One yet, though)
@@Lisa_Papez hey Lisa, i like the way you are focusing on just one of the guidebooks at a time. using "Dusk" for self-care really resonates with me right now. i was not reaching for this deck because of the overwhelming choices, now i can use the book and the cards in tandem. sweet.
I really love the golden art nouveau tarot. It’s beautiful & plastic (I think) so it takes a beating & I don’t love the Rider Waite Smith so it’s a good basic staple alternative.
@@Lisa_Papez I held off for a while, mostly because I have become a card stock snob lol. So I was pleasantly surprised. Full disclosure, the faces are not great artistically speaking, it’s very (all) white, slim, hetero etc. That being said it’s a low cost tastefully done low cost deck (no small feat). That being said, it’s shiny & pretty - a bit like a sunny day 🤩 (at least for me).
I love Peggy's tarot bags! I need one! I'm looking for a Witchy/rock-n-roll/Stevie Nicks vibe if you can make any like that. Perfect for me to take on tour. I will check out the link. Love your videos!
Ooooh yah you can always drop Peggy (us) a message at her Etsy shop! I often help people find good matches either from her existing stock or spy other fabrics she has ;) She has quite the selection! :) Thanks for popping by!
Oof. I don't think I can answer that. So many come close but miss the mark for me. The White Sage is probably the only chakra-influenced Tarot deck that has ever worked for me long-term (so far) and lots of oracles kinda sorta work but not enough on point for me to be like YES this one. ;) But I do enjoy working with my Animantras Oracle and my Color Mage Oracle (not sure either are gettable at the moment).

Same here! I even ordered it but ended up cancelling the order since I felt I needed to wait because of my financial situation right now.
Do it 🤣🤣👹
