I'm still on the fence about -The Ostara Tarot - Morgan Greer Tarot - Druid Craft Tarot I really like all three of them but something seems to keep me from purchasing them. Before watching your video I was positive I was gonna buy the Woodland Wardens, but if an Oak, Ash & Thorn Oracle is on its way, I'll probably buy that one. Thanks for the info!
Woodland Wardens. It’s beautiful, I want it, it’s totally my aesthetic, but on the other hand, I feel like I already own it. What decks do I have that scratch the itch? I can think of at least four off the top of my head, Phantom Fauna being the closest.
Both Lo Scarabeos! Erotic Tarot and Sexual Tarot. It just feels like RWS clones without the Sexual/Sacral thought behind it. Maybe if those came with guidebooks I would have.
I decided with a heavy heart against the Unfolding Path. I feel it inhabits a similar place for me as the Light Seer‘s. But the light seers has more background, while the Unfolding Path focusses on close ups of people. I prefer tarot cards to show scenes that I feel I can step into. Plus, I hate the long-artificial-nails-cliché-witch hands that are featured in the Unfolding Path. I may yet regret this, as I love the art style, a lot of the people in this deck and the diversity. But I feel that if I spend that amount of money, I need to be 100% sure. I really love your anti-haul videos because you have similar thinking processes to me + some different perspectives. And I love Peggy’s views in the say yes to the deck videos!
Lisa is my comfort youtuber, anyone else? I love how grounded and supportive this community is😊❤. Also, I love hearing her thought process and how she mindfully curates her collections. These antihauls are super helpful for me to not only self-reflect, but to see what decks are similar and not getting caught up in the frenzy, like Lisa says.
I love the Lilifer deck! I love that the images are abstract and all of the symbology. It’s a great deck for emotional healing. The art doesn’t give the definition of the card like a rws clone, I feel like it’s more like an open reading deck.
@@steffymuze I don't need both decks either. With me it's just vice versa, I've had Tarot de Luz for a couple of months now and I'm loving it dearly. I'm always grateful when it's so easy to persuade myself out of buying another deck. 😀 I am in Europe and these days the horrendous shipping costs plus customs duties often dampen my enthusiasm. 🙁
@@sa6in3 I can totally see that! It's that way for me with some UK ones, Cilla Conway's are high on my WL but shipping, ouch. I still really like Luz so it's not off the table entirely that's for sure😊
I love the Lilifer - I wasn’t sure first but now I love it sooo much. It makes all sense for me and I love that the guidebook has no meanings except the keywords ❤❤
Oh, I'm so glad you liked Kawaii Tarot. Squee! I have the simplified Kawaii as well. I pretty much passed up Star Spinner for many of the same reaasons.
I relate so much to thinking you are going to Like a deck because you loved a previous deck by that creator, only to have it just not click with you. I think all of us that collect have had that experience. I’ve learnt not to beat myself up about it and then pass it along to someone who might like it better,
Hi, Lisa. As much as I want all the decks, overwhelm is real. When I have too many decks I don't enjoy what I have because I always feel that I should be working with something else. There are so many decks today that I couldn't possibly buy and maintain a collection with all the ones I may feel the urge to get. There are decks I would probably love that I haven't bought and that's OK. This can be very challenging to come to terms with and it's always a work in progress. Letting go and saying no can be very powerful. Whatever you decide, wishing you a sense of fulfillment and happiness with your choices.
Gosh, I love your necklace! Into the lonely woods is a beautiful deck and the messages are so special. I don't necessarily pair Oracle with Tarot so I can see where you are coming from when considering it. These videos always give me a good impression of decks and help me to navigate the market. Whether you like them or not. Thanks!
I know exactly the feeling, when something we want to love, and feel so right about in the beginning just doesn't land! It happens to me ALL the time and it's equally crushing each time. It's so great though, that you've got such a great connection to the Reclaim Oracle, and it can shine for you clearly and brightly, and in a way there is no competition coming from another deck, even if it's a tarot. I'm really interested in the Asherah and ordered it a while back, I'm holding off on watching your video on it until mine arrives to get a pure personal experience with it, and then I'm all in on your three quarter of an hour dive into it! It's gonna be great! I had some 'Feelings' (capital 'f') about the Woodland Wardens deck that I think might turn me off of it for good, so you may have made a good decision there, but you're entirely right about it being STUNNING. It's so pretty, transports me right to the depths of the woods. The best place. Thanks for another fantastic video! Really enjoyed hanging out with you for its duration! xx
I'm really loving deep diving into the Playful Heart Tarot, I am so glad that you did a walk through video and shared how it impacted you. It's bringing me do much joy, thank you. ♡
I could listen to you forever :-) I'm sorry the Tabula Mundi doesn't work for you; for me, it's a constant in my life but it's so personal. I find the book one of the most useful guidebooks ever. I find the way you curate your collection very inspiring although my own curating process is much less effective. For me, every deck is an art gallery and I tend to keep most of them. I admire how well you know yourself and what you like and why.
Speaking of Halloween- The creator of Tarot Renard 😍has been creating something called the Boo Tarot 🤩 ( I think) I’m holding off on any Oct decks until that comes out - I’m anxious to see it!
Hello can you possibly please link me to the Boo tarot you referred to here?? I tried looking for it and haven't had any luck :( but I love Halloween and Halloween theme decks. thank you in advance ☺️
Thanks for another great one! I admit I am sitting solidly on my Buffy preorder and refuse to budge ;-) I still had my morning coffee when I watched the beginning of this, by the way, and when you said Tabula Mundi I gasp-spat and startled my cat, but he has since forgiven us both.
I am strictly on a no buy for tarot decks but am open to oracle but there's nothing on my radar right now. I decided to look through and destash some of my decks while watching this video. Very motivational. Thank you, Lisa!
Woodland Wardens seems to pair with both OAT and SAE amazingly well! Hard for me to imagine a better pairing (but I prefer pairing decks by different artists). Maybe it would go with your Forest of Enchantment or Druidcraft or Witches Wisdom or even the RWS Centennial?
I love these videos! I was so sad, but I felt the exact same about Lilifer! I LOVE reclaim and backed lilifer without even a question, then I got it and flipped through and just knew it wasn’t speaking to me either. I’m still sad about it 😂 but love seeing that other people love it, I totally get what you mean about that being therapeutic!
Into the Lonely Woods is life and would pair great with Woodland Wardens when I need a deep, calm, serene look into what's really going on with me. Thanks for pairing them in the decks you're not getting. ❤
Lisa, please, hold onto the Tabula Mundi. You may regret letting it go. (My favorite Empress card of all time, btw!) I love this series so much. There are so many decks coming out on a daily basis, it’s just overwhelming! I really want to have decks in my collection that I use and enjoy. I really like how you think about decks in your collection that “scratch the itch” I’ve been using that technique myself and it is really helpful in terms of curating a collection as opposed to just adding decks in without thought. 💗💗💗
Lisa I love you, I 100% believe you will buy the pastel unicorn tarot. There will be a moment and it will become yours cause its too you and too adorable and too pastel unicorny for you to not get it.
Wow , the way things work out time wise.. I found the Tabula Mundi guidebook in a shop (with no deck) - then I found the Fortunes Wheelhouse podcast just a couple days ago! I’d never heard of it before.
It’s so funny how we are all so different! The reasons you didn’t bond with the Coastal Curiosities deck are the exact reasons why I love it! It goes with many of my muted toned, collage, vintage art decks. The Illuminated Earth Oracle has been on my wishlist since it came out, so I may have to bite on that one someday 😉
I love so much that when I don't love something, someone else likely does/will - it's oddly reassuring LOL. :) Yes Illuminated Earth is really special!
Shadows of light is not backed yet. It is only about half way there and has 17 days to go. All or nothing, ends May 6th. I did choose to back this one because it seems so deep, its beautiful and it looks like it would pair with my Mary El amazingly!!! I really hope this one backs, it is shipping out pretty fast as well once the kickstarter ends, i want to say within 2 months. $49 in USD for just the deck to back it, 50 cards and 120 page guidebook. So please! if you are interested go back it!
Oh the Hardy Tarot...I went back and forth at time if release and through the many editions however, I never picked it I. I happy with the original and a few alternatives.
I love the wheel of the year oracles, absolutely bonded with the Samhain and Yule but the Beltane, just didn't grab me. I think I'm going to hem and haw on the pre-order for Antiquarian Tarot even tho the Divine Muses is my #1 oracle deck. Claire Mack is working on a tarot and I'm so pumped. I have the Faceted Garden, I find it a little hard to read, but I love getting lost in the art. I think I need a beefy guide book but it's also a good opportunity to do things intuition wise.
I laugh so hard at these anti-hauls because while we have *some* shared favorites, you ALWAYS have the "eh, nopes" that I'm obsessed with, and your obsessions are always my "eh, nope." 😂 😂 Coastal Curiosities is going on my list, not so much for the vintage but I LOVE common object decks. And THE LILIFER. So I grabbed it just because it was like "Reclaim creator? take my money" and didn't even remember doing it or what it was or anything, and when it came I wasn't sure I'd be that into it, but I started reading and it was like "oh shit, this is a soul deck." Like, leigitmately I have never in my life seen my own gender portrayed in art like it is in that deck and I just wanted to burst into happy tears. It was phenomenal moving through the eclipse portal. *hugs it close and never lets go* (honestly might get an extra for a backup, which I've never done, but like, MY PRECIOUSSSS.)
Oh boy, here I was thinking I'd have a relaxing afternoon with the anti-haul and then I about fell off the couch! So many shockers in one video! These are always so fun, thank you for sharing! ❤️
It's interesting you say Lilifer is almost speaking another language, that's exactly how I felt when I first got it. It took almost a month for me to sort of "crack the code" and start getting messages from it. I love it now, but still am not fully connected to it. Thank you for these videos. I've learned to be a lot more discerning since discovering your channel!
I love the Illuminated Earth Oracle, I just got it two weeks ago. I did purchase the Woodlands Wardens I love using it with the Hush Tarot and Mystic Faeries Tarot by Barbara Moore and Linda Ravenscroft. After watching your Hot Takes I bought the Witching Hour Oracle although it only has 39 cards the artwork is stunning. I'm excited to pair it with the Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot and Strangely the Barbara Walker Tarot and maybe the MaryEl
Lisa, I have the Halloween Oracle in the matt card stock from Blue Angle. It was ordered through Amazon. Thanks for the video. I too have to talk my self out of decks lol. All my best, Amber
I have the Woodland Wardens on my wish list. I am a nature baby and I love animal decks. I have several animal oracles on my list I'm debating over. I'm off to watch a full walk-through of it now as I've not done that yet I just saw some pics of a reading with it and loved the artwork so added it to my list real quick so I didn't forget about it. Lol. I too passed on the MindScapes tarot. I followed it for almost the entire campaign and came so close to backing it more than once but in the end decided not to as I have no idea how I would use a majors only deck and if I'm going to spend that much money on a deck there are others I would rather get my hands on.
1st Time seeing your channel in my feed. I made my first indie deck less than a year ago. It is a mix and moreso freelance. None of my characters have a complexion except for the 3 of Pentacles b/c it's a collaboration networking card. Other creators may find your reviews intimidating, but it's good to see what others look for in the decks. We all resonate with decks differently. I do like the Illuminated oracle though.
1: Yes to the Illuminated Earth, literally one of my most used oracle decks, 2: That Asheroth is very intriguing to me, 3: Buffy--woah, I am def not one that uses pop culture decks even if they are cool, but this one I might have to have just to have lol (PS: I thought MAYBE we had pulled you into the Woodland Wardens but I definitely see given your animal decks that what you have goes much better!)
YESSSSS I *have* heard some interesting things about the Buffy deck in the comments on this video so I have a little rekindled hope for that one... oh... and stay tuned on Woodland Wardens... ;) There may be a twist to that story... (and the plot thickens...) ;) Thanks for watching, Kelly! :D
I do really like my Lilifer deck, but I have to admit I was disappointed in how the guidebook felt lacking. Compared to how beautifully written the Reclaim Oracle book is, I was really hoping to see that from her again with this and it just didn’t hit the mark in that area. I can read it intuitively, but part of connecting with a deck is connecting with the words/voice of the creator.
I have to admit, those "Thoth-like" decks work less and less for me. I'll always grab my Thoth before any of those decks and they end up collecting dust on my shelf (even if they're incredibly beautiful and thoughtfully made).
I love listening to your takes! You are so comedic in a very natural way. I am surprised you are not going for Into The Lonely Things because (and I’m being shallow here) I thought you had a niche for “CUTE” haha! I am totally not into story book looking decks (even though I do collect children’s books) but I am definitely considering it. It’s got a cute vibe in a darker context (reminding me of my melancholy nature in childhood). This inspires me to look more into it.
I'm real tempted by it - like truly, but I'm being extra super duper picky about oracles these days. I could see caving on it but...... only if I see it in person and am like MUST HAVE. :D
I have an opposite thing: I blame Kelly Fitzgerald for the fact that I *did* order Woodland Wardens! ❤😊 I had no idea that the creator of Oak Ash + Thorn was doing an oracle (I did not buy the tarot) but I will now be keeping an eye out for that one too!
Woodland Wardens was so tempting... but I already have animal and plant decks that I use and it would compete too much. tbh, most of the others weren't my thing for one reason or another so this anti-haul didn't upset my bank balance - phew!!! On second thoughts the Asherah tarot was tempting, but I don't even have a Thoth original yet so there's no point in me getting it without understanding the deck it was based on first. These videos are so useful though!
Lisa I’m also struggling with the lilifer. I got it out the box, flipped through it a few times and have put it away. I don’t know why I don’t want to go to it. ❤️
@@Lisa_Papez I need to work with it. I can’t believe I didn’t want to. I simply boxed it away🤷♀️it might change when I work with it but as of yet I don’t want to
The Buffy deck is on my list, too, but I will also wait because Supernatural Tarot was not so good. Mostly because of the poorly chosen characters and I have a feeling that will be the case here, too. If I like a fandom, I have very strong opinions on the characters and a deck that doesn’t reflect that will ruin the experience for me.
I loved Supernatural's first 5 seasons (not so much after that). When I saw the flips through of the deck it was a meh experience for me. I feel that the deck could and should have been so much more.
Maybe it'll be a ray of hope to know that the creator of the buffy deck has authored a buffy comic book (or graphic novel can't remember)? Minerva Siegel was behind Supernatural, Disney Villains, Nightmare Before Christmas, etc...
Hi Lisa! I can absolutely relate with your opinion on the buffyverse and the buffy tarot! It would be amazing to have a well made tarot of such an iconic serie, one that always cheers me up in harder times. On the plus side, i believe it is illustrated by one of the illustrators of the comic book series, so at least she is knowledgeable on that portion of the process. She also mentioned that it was going to be fully illustrated. So fingers crossed!!
I’m pretty sure I’m going to get the lillithfer deck. I have the embroidery deck. I do cross-stitch and got it purely for the art and didn’t read the description . Hubby gave me dirty looks when I explained with serious excitement it was a medium ( something I wanted to look into) he asked if it was like a ouji board I don’t think he believed me when I said no🤣
I am the exact opposite with regard to Lilifer and the Reclaim Oracle. I absolutely adore Lilifer. It was immediately one of my favorites. But, I just can’t with Reclaim. Maybe because it looks too blobby for me or maybe because the cards look so similar at a glance. I don’t know. (I don’t have it so I have only seen it on your channel.). But, I was so tempted to order it just because I love Lilifer so much
never seen this until now, thanks for that info I'm a bit that.. can you tell me if it's accurate for you and how you like it etc? when she showed that deck here I like it. but would like to try this first
I have Halloween, All Hallows, and Shadowland Tarot, Halloween Oracle and Seasons of the Witch Samhain Oracle, and have pre-ordered Trick or Treat Tarot.
Ooh, I've always considered buying the Crystal Unicorn Tarot, but after seeing the Pastel Unicorn, I'm considering getting that instead. They're soo cute!! 🦄💖
EPIC TAROT LIFE HACK: get friends that have decks that you don't!🤣 When I'm always tempted by a deck because of a friend's love, I like to think "is it enough for me to poke them for readings with this deck occasionally, or is it something I need 24/7 access to." Bothering (ASKING) tarot friends (NICELY, I swear) for reading trades has been really great for staving off the Need impulse!
I need to watch a walkthrough, but I'm really leaning towards getting Woodland Wardens - I think it might go really well with the Forest of Enchantment tarot, which is one of my favourites. Plus it will give me a reason not to cave in and order Wild Whiskers, a very similar but indie oracle that would cost me three times as much thanks to international shipping.
I am so deeply hoping that the Shadows of Light Oracle does get fully backed on kickstarter! It hasn’t yet, but has some time left to go so fingers crossed
Hi, Lisa! I love, love your Anti-Haul videos, and I remember bingewatching all of your previous ones when I first started my own tarot journey. I could just listen to you all day. 😛 I’m sorry Lilifer didn’t connect, and I can understand why. I don’t have it, and I’m really on the fence of bringing it into my collection. I feel like the energy is all over the place, somewhat scattered? I do love my Reclaim, though, and feel like the oracle was created w more thought and intention. Woodland Wardens is soooo gorgeous artwork-wise, but the cardstock’s so flimsy so I may not get it. I have the Pythia Botanica from Leila+Olive anyways and I’m in love w it even if it’s just a botanicals-only oracle. 🌸 Thanks for another great Anti-Haul video!
I love videos like these so much! I'm so tempted to buy the crystal unicorn tarot, but something keeps holding me back. However, I love that it is reasonably priced and follows the RWS closely, because that system is what I've been studying for the past 7 months. I'll probably get it when it's available to purchase again. It might be good when I'm using the cards around my kids (they're 6 and 8.)
I promised myself I wouldn't buy any decks until I had a chance to work with the last batch I purchased, but I ordered Outgrow Yourself about 2 minutes into your video the other day. Luckily there's nothing in this video that I have to have! I'm sadly thinking of moving Playful Heart along. It was one I was so excited about, but I just can't connect with it intuitively. The cardstock is a little too slippy for my taste, as well. I wish I'd ordered a print of the strength card instead of the deck.
I have felt the same way about the Embroidered Forest Tarot as you did about the Embroidered Graveyard. I just love the idea so much and I love embroidery and it's so unique, but I know I wouldn't actually enjoy using it because animal tarot's don't resonate with me. And a big part of me wishes it was more forest-y and less animal-y.
I’m really struggling with Lilifer! Absolutely love the art but I’m still pretty new to tarot so I find I am confusing the court cards in the deck because of all the multiple symbols. I look at the guide constantly but it is difficult to wrap my brain around lol. I still think I’m keeping it but I’m so sad! I hope I’m able to connect eventually. I’m definitely still being called to it!
I almost let Mixtress's walkthrough make me regret backing the embroidered graveyard oracle 😅 I should've known better than to watch her video on it because I'd already known that she tends to have really strong opinions and expresses them in a way I don't agree with. I was just excited to see a channel I was subscribed to at the time talk about it. My deck came in the next day and I had to give myself a few days to clear my mind before I felt good to play with it.
I have been so tempted to buy the Asherat tarot for a while-the majors are abosulutely gorgeous-but not sure if the minors are too pip style for me. Ive got the tabula mundi but rarely use it as i find it hard to read
about Woodland Wardens, i was talking with a friend about it not so long ago, the deck fell flat for us. We both had it preordered and we were so excited, i mean, obviously we'll get it, can't wait!!!!! but then after watching a flip through it just didn't click for me. or my friend. the art is gorgeous, the theme of it is just right up my alley, but it just doesn't work for me, for whatever ridiculous reason. i was so sad about it, when i told my friend she confessed she had just cancelled her preorder too so... i'm sad
Funny how you anti-hauled the Woodland Wardens, cause you don't have a deck to pair it with. I have the Illustrated Herbiary & Bestiary (together in one deck) and I love it, but (until now) I didn't find the perfect deck to pair it with :D I still use it, so that's fine. But I love tarot & oracle pairings. Woodland Wardens is on my wishlist as well, tho :D
Lisa I still remember maybe the first, possibly the second, of your videos I ever watched almost 3 years ago: the first anti-haul. As a fellow Thot user who has somehow managed to keep a Tarot collection of less than 10 decks for nearly 15 years (at the beginning it was lack of access to them but now it's lack of interest since most are RWS based or clones and I don't really care about the system) I completely understand your choice of putting the Tabula Mundi on purgatory. But as a fellow Lisa Papez content enjoyer I have to admit I am a little shocked at the turn this story took
lots of great info and food for thought in this video! I have a couple of questions for you, do you have the Zillich tarot in your collection? What do you think of it? I came across it when I went looking for an interesting mini deck and love the art work but am hesitating because its described as a Thoth based deck and I'm not a Thoth reader and am not currently heading in that direction so I'm not sure. The reviews I've read and watched seem mixed on this question so I'd curious to know what you think. Also, did you back the Lisa Mackay oracle Original Life Design Cards that just finished on Kickstarter? I love love love the Textured Tarot, it's my all time favourite deck and I'm really excited about this oracle. Would love to hear what you think of it. And one last thought, not a question just a comment, I have and really love the Oracle of Echoes and am looking forward to the Tarot of Echoes. 💕
I love watching your videos.....feel like we are hanging out! Question? do you have The Crystal Unicorn Tarot by Pamela Chen....it even has a colouring book...I think you would love it!!
I would’ve got the woodland wardens in a heartbeat if it didn’t have those massive borders!! I like borders, but they just don’t work with this in my opinion
I am getting real tired of all these majors-only decks. I (stupidly) backed Mindscapes and didn’t even realize it was a majors-only until…… you just mentioned it in this video. 😓 I’ve assumed if they call it a tarot deck, it’s a full tarot deck. 😵💫 Lesson learned. I’ll clearly be putting it up for sale the day I receive it. 🤧
When I looked at the kickstarter a couple weeks ago I think it mentioned that it is majors-only only once in the entire kickstarter. I think it’s very easy to have missed that and I’m sure a lot of other people missed it too!
@@x1asheratmidnight1x I missed it as well. I was so entranced by his art that I got all swept up in the moment, and didn't read as carefully as I usually do. (I also only caught the campaign just as it was about to close, so FOMO played a part there as well.)
I wonder why the Majestic Earth Tarot is always out of print. As far as I understand, it's the creator of the deck who sells it herself. Do any of you know the reason why she doesn't print it more often?
Sometimes it has to do with the quantities ordered. Printers have a minimum quantity for them to go ahead with a project, and when you add shipping fees, extra fees, materials out of stock... Even if a deck is popular it may not be worth it for the creator to continue ordering batch after batch of decks... Then personally packaging each deck being ordered... So they'll do a few runs and be done with it. It's more complicated for a single person than a publishing house to handle.
@@Vanyro0 I totally understand that a creative person just wants to create, not handle the commands, the paperwork, deal with the printer, deal with the shipping, and all the rest. Of course I get it. At the same time, once a creator puts something out in the world, isn't there a bit of responsibility that remains towards the creation and the public? I mean, the responsibility, if there is a demand, to keep the creation present in the world?
@@Azarika I wouldn't say "responsible"... I think a deck creator (or anyone else really) is under no obligation to do something just because people want it. Businesses big and small do as they legally can, and especially for one or two man operations, I don't think they should run themselves ragged because the public wants it. I've seen in other fields that kind of thought go soon enough to the side of entitlement and close to harassing a maker because "don't you see I want it?" Creators have many reasons for wanting to share their work with the world, and unless they strike a deal with a mass market company, I think they can call the shots on how and how long they'll do it for.
I was excited to see the Lilifer Tarot and when I saw the images on the Kickstarter I just knew I wouldn't resonate with it. I opted not to get it. I had really wanted it to go with the Reclaim Oracle, but I just didn't connect with the artwork at all. I'm very much about animal decks, but I too am not going to buy Woodland Wardens. There's something about it I just don't connect with. I did ultimately get Into the Lonely Woods. I feel like it will be good for me when I'm in a darker place but need something gently uplifting. I tried pairing it with the Dreamkeepers Tarot and they seem to work really well together. Ok, I'm probably gonna have to get that Trick or Treat Tarot when it comes out... 😁🎃 I think all the pop culture decks would be so much better as Oracle decks, rather than trying to force them into the structure of the Tarot.
OMG. I live in the PacNW, and the Woodland Wardens speaks to me on so many levels. I just got it and I do feel a direct connection. To me it doesn't fit with my other decks, except maybe The Druid Craft Tarot. Any thoughts?
I am still wondering if I will ever understand the luminous tarot. Apparently, not soon. I sometimes think we are not meant to cross all paths or learn all the tricks. Edit: never was interested in Thoth until now when I saw the Ashura tarot .. what a gorgeous deck. Totally not my style but also captivating? Ok .. I have to look into this trick or treat tarot .. because I don’t have a Halloween deck! 😁 also, I don’t have any theme deck until recently I got the Titanic tarot on Kickstarter and I got the little prince tarot as a gift for Christmas. I am again very picky. I want all decks for all themes but I am a tough crowd. I truly wish we can have a theme deck after Little Women or Anne with an E ..
On the fence about the Lilifer Tarot because I'm waiting to get the Reclaim Oracle and I want to see how I vibe with that first before plunging in with another deck from the same creator?
Am I the only Thothonian who doesn't love Tabula Mundi? It's a nope for me, so I wasn't surprised. I would be way more interested in Lennan Smith's Wild Essence Thoth - simple nature based...nothing fancy. Star Spinner is also not surprising to me, I'm glad a lot of people enjoy it, because I think it's beautiful, but it's a no, as is the Kawaii. Meh. I am on board with Illuminated Earth taking the place of many of the earthy oracles I've seen coming out lately. It's just so much more...but Dirt Gems is a new classic. That one should be a part of everyone's collection! Not surprised by Lilifer...sorry it's weird and so is Luminous Void. I was in a metaphysical/herb shop in Portland last week, and they had some fantastic indie decks...inc. LV, and I tried! I thought, oh, here it is, maybe it'll talk to me. nope. I was in that chat about the Woodland Wardens...I just don't need a bunch of oracles. I already have more than I ever thought I would...but Kelly will make you love a deck won't she? Mixtress Rae's Embroidered Oracle video had the opposite effect on me, I put that one right on the wishlist! Right under your video, I am about to watch the Hardy Tarot vid Dawn Michelle made..so we shall see. It's another deck I passed on before, but maybe I've grown into it? I'm definitely gonna get Ashera tho. Crystal Unicorn is my only unicorn deck. It's just so GOOD! I think I might be good on Halloween. I let the Oracle go...I love my Halloween Tarot, I've got Bohemian Gothic, and Trick or Tarot, and I have several Vampire decks. I'm good. Zombie got lifted by my daughter...might need that one back. Yeah, I'm not digging the pop culture decks either...not since Game of Thrones, and Heart of Stars, both of which I love...none of them look very good to me. I saw your erotic deck at Powell's World of Books, when I was in Portland, and I thought about it. But I have Uusi's Eros in the Garden of Love, and the Abyssal Tarot...they are my erotic decks. I also didn't love Majestic Earth. It didn't speak to me. I almost kept it for the great keywords...but in the end, nah. I love Natalie, and I like what she's doing with her son, but I'd never use it, so no Max's Rainbow. No kickstarters at all really, I am happy to report, that when I recieve my Gentle Tarot Pocket/Guidebook, I am free of the waiting for kickstarters! yay! No buy hasn't been 100% successful, but I have been pretty good. I love Oracle of Echoes...I did a really cool edge job on the first edition, so mine's not going anywhere....the one I was really sorry to miss, The Lost Tarot...hoping to grab that at some point. hope hope hope.
Hee hee i love long comments like this - thank you!!! :D So fun to read!! Yeah I need to trim down my oracles still...... we shall see how I do with that!! Great job on your No Buy!!!
you're not alone with the Tabula, Lisa (I think, it might have been Zack or maybe Anneke) introduced me to it, I bought the app and read the book and almost 3 years later i'm still like no thanks
Ok so I might be editing this comment a view times as I watch your video 😂 but I completely understand what you mean about the Tabula Mundi! I had that deck TWICE and couldn’t use it. If I’m going to use a Thoth, it’s going to be the Thoth. The Woodland Wardens is beautiful and looks so comforting and warm. But what really bugged me was the tarot associations that aren’t consistent through the deck. The creator says she’s very versed in tarot so why not just make a tarot deck instead of the half assed associations!? 🤷🏻♀️ ok…salty rant over. Oh and don’t get me started on the Embroided Graveyard. It’s beautiful and is a deck I backed. I have yet to receive a shipping notice and have not heard back from the creator after sending many emails. Buffy is my favorite show of all time and I won’t be getting the Buffy tarot. At least not right now! Given the history of decks coming out from Insight Editions.
Oh NO i'm so so sorry to hear you've had that issue with the creator of Embroidered Graveyard - that is SO disappointing to hear!! I hope you hear back soon, but still ... I know experiences like that can really sour someone on a deck. The Tabula Mundi thing really shocked me - I was so sure (before studying) that it'd be 'my' thoth deck... nope. apparently Thoth is my Thoth deck LOL funny how that happened!
I don't know the exact number but there's no real way to tell but if the creator announces it and in the publisher's listings of upcoming decks. There's been a good handful last year, could be the same this year...
A couple of random thoughts: What does that decoration say in your background? It looks like Rolex? I always find myself trying to guess what that says and today I decided to ask. And I thought of a fun video idea or a game to play at your next live with Peggy. You could show us your decks in the Peggy bag and we can guess what's in it. Wouldn't that be fun? I feel like I would be able to remember most of the ones you showed us, and I know I'm not the only one. I see you back there, Reclaim Oracle. 😊 Thanks as usual for your great content, Lisa! Its always a good day when I wake up to one of your videos being posted. ❤
Omg, I wrote my comment before you grabbed the Reclaim Oracle. Thats so weird that you grabbed that one down today! Well now I know for sure I was right on that bag. That was an easy one anyway. 😊
It says Relax! It's a remnant from my past Yoga business - it used to be a decoration in my studio! :) LOL that idea has come up before about guess what's in the bag. LOL Maybe one day!!!
Have steph said they will release an oracle officiaøøy yet or was that a slip ? Ahah! I havent seen it yet. I haven’t bought it yet but i need the woodland to pair with oat and sae tarot… but if they do an oracle to pair with them i am not shure 😂 you just made me question the need. For once 🤪
Yeah it was REALLY annoying to me to edit, also LOL - the Mic ended up in a TOTALLY WRONG SPOT lol and the muffled rustling was *THE WORST*. LOL I didn't want to refilm tho or I'd have lost all the authenticity in the vid... definitely triple checking mic placement in future tho! :)
@@Lisa_Papez I didn't mind it because slightly ASMR tbh lol, just so you know it wasn't a bad experience for someone and probably others too didn't mind
Oh man, I may end up caving on a few of these. We'll see.... What deck have you decided not to buy lately?
I'm still on the fence about
-The Ostara Tarot
- Morgan Greer Tarot
- Druid Craft Tarot
I really like all three of them but something seems to keep me from purchasing them.
I'm trying to talk myself out of buying the Eastern Ink Tarot.
Mindful curating is SUCH a perfect way to describe what you do!!!!
Your voice is so soothing! I play old Anti Hauls as background sound before I sleep 😅
glad i’m not alone! LOL
@@cherrybombrs fellow insomniac and tarot enthusiast 😌
Same!
@@EnduringMelancholia it’s legit a routine now lol
I love this so hard!
I love the Lilifer deck! I love that the images are abstract and all of the symbology. It’s a great deck for emotional healing. The art doesn’t give the definition of the card like a rws clone, I feel like it’s more like an open reading deck.
It reminds me of the Tarot de Luz by Aitor Saraiba, at least to some extent. Anyone?
@@sa6in3 I can see that and it's why I didn't get Luz, I have Lilifer 😊
Ditto on the Kawaii Tarot! Ermagerd, I love how well it reads! Fingers crossed it'll show up in a #perfectpairs video
I relate so much to thinking you are going to
Like a deck because you loved a previous deck by that creator, only to have it just not click with you.
I just love these long videos; they are like being at a coffee shot chatting. Oh, my, I am still going to back the Shadows of Light Oracle.
Really enjoyed hanging out with you for its duration! xx
😘😘😘
I'm really loving deep diving into the Playful Heart Tarot, I am so glad that you did a walk through video and shared how it impacted you. It's bringing me do much joy, thank you. ♡
oh my GOD i need that purple eyeshadow!!!
Oh I have my eyes on the Boo Tarot *FOR SURE* - I may already have a Peggybag squirreled away for it even! ;)
🤣🤣🤣 So glad your cat has forgiven us. LOL Sorry for the startle!! ;)
Fantastic suggestions!!!
As always this video and series is so helpful. I really enjoy hearing you walk through your process of selecting decks.
New prediction: you will buy the pastel unicorn tarot and if it works for you it will replace the crystal unicorn tarot.
Hehehe we shall seeeeeee!
Wow , the way things work out time wise..
I found the Tabula Mundi guidebook in a shop (with no deck) - then I found the Fortunes Wheelhouse podcast just a couple days ago! I’d never heard of it before.
I've been a member of the FWA FB group for ages and they are so friendly, join us!
I, too, love good smelling guidebooks. It’s a thing.
LOL Hehehe that's a fun mental image. Glad you enjoyed, shockers and all lol
Woodland Oracle is the one that’s most likely to end up in my collection. I love Buffy, but I currently don’t work with pips.
Also, I LOVE Buffy the Vampire Slayer and I will for sure be getting that deck
Halloween decks are my kryptonite
Can you do or have you done a video about trimming and edging your cards? It looks so good!
Oh no! :( I'm so sorry. I'm not sure I can quite put my finger on it - it just really doesn't feel meant for me!
💯
She mentioned it was going to be fully illustrated?!?!? That IS promising - as is the choice of artist!!
But, I was so tempted to order it just because I love Lilifer so much
Same here re both of these!
Oh Lisa lol the Tabula Mundi is on my want list 🦄✨ But I have the digital version so I am content
never seen this until now, thanks for that info I'm a bit that.. can you tell me if it's accurate for you and how you like it etc? when she showed that deck here I like it. but would like to try this first
I have Halloween, All Hallows, and Shadowland Tarot, Halloween Oracle and Seasons of the Witch Samhain Oracle, and have pre-ordered Trick or Treat Tarot.
Have you checked out Trick or Tarot? Vintage look and amazing card stock.
Oh no, now I want to trim my Halloween Oracle, yours looks so good Lisa!
Thanks for another great Anti-Haul video!
There's a Buffy deck coming out??! Oh I so hope it is done with some thought behind it. I might have to get it either way. 😂
I love Buffy so much! But like you... I'm sceptical.
Shadow's of Light is not looking like it's gonna make goal....I Backed it though!
I got the Disney villains deck and it doesn't pull any punches. Very mater of fact but yes every pippish
I’m tempted to make own fan deck of Gilmore Girls. I know I can’t sell it but it’s one I really really want.
I'm obsessed with lilifer, I'm gutted it didn't work for you.
We both had it preordered and we were so excited, i mean, obviously we'll get it, can't wait!!!!! but then after watching a flip through it just didn't click for me. or my friend. the art is gorgeous, the theme of it is just right up my alley, but it just doesn't work for me, for whatever ridiculous reason.
i was so sad about it, when i told my friend she confessed she had just cancelled her preorder too so... i'm sad
I hadn't heard of the Into the Lonely Woods but I love it
The color in the Eros deck is so stunning to me but I can’t get over the font and the backs 😅 just makes it look so cheap to me
Funny how you anti-hauled the Woodland Wardens, cause you don't have a deck to pair it with.
The Asherah tarot kind of reminds me of the Gill tarot.
I was totally going to recommend you watch MixtressRae's video on this deck!
Oh no! :( I'm so sorry! That would be so frustrating!
As far as I know she only ever printed the one run - which was Kickstarter funded. But yes to everything Vanyro0 said above as well!
@@Lisa_Papez I wish she would do a second Kickstarter.
@@Azarika I wouldn't say "responsible"... I think a deck creator (or anyone else really) is under no obligation to do something just because people want it. Businesses big and small do as they legally can, and especially for one or two man operations, I don't think they should run themselves ragged because the public wants it.
I've seen in other fields that kind of thought go soon enough to the side of entitlement and close to harassing a maker because "don't you see I want it?"
Creators have many reasons for wanting to share their work with the world, and unless they strike a deal with a mass market company, I think they can call the shots on how and how long they'll do it for.
I think all the pop culture decks would be so much better as Oracle decks, rather than trying to force them into the structure of the Tarot.
OMG. I live in the PacNW, and the Woodland Wardens speaks to me on so many levels. I just got it and I do feel a direct connection. To me it doesn't fit with my other decks, except maybe The Druid Craft Tarot. Any thoughts?
I immediately thought of Druid Craft to pair with Woodland Wardens.
@@meredithmonroe9723 YES
The upside to being home from work with sinus yuck is that I get to watch this right after it came up. Silver linings, right? (I am on the mend)
Glad you're doing better!! Being ill stinks!
Does the illuminated Earth Oracle come with a book?
The Tabula Mundi thing really shocked me - I was so sure (before studying) that it'd be 'my' thoth deck... nope. apparently Thoth is my Thoth deck LOL funny how that happened!
weird I order just recently and received right away. I know people are still now receiving their backed orders
How many times does an kick starter goes mass market?? Iam new and saw an tarot but shipping seams high from Australia it’s the bride tarot.
Thanks as usual for your great content, Lisa! Its always a good day when I wake up to one of your videos being posted. ❤
Omg, I wrote my comment before you grabbed the Reclaim Oracle. Thats so weird that you grabbed that one down today! Well now I know for sure I was right on that bag. That was an easy one anyway. 😊
Hi, it says Relax... I have one in black 😉
It says Relax! It's a remnant from my past Yoga business - it used to be a decoration in my studio! :) LOL that idea has come up before about guess what's in the bag. LOL Maybe one day!!!
@@Lisa_Papez Thanks! I guess Relax makes more sense than Rolex. LOL
@@chantalrekers Thanks!
For once 🤪
I wanted to love the Lilifer, so much... and I just don't.
Love the series!
Much of the audio is either scratchy or muffled - wherever you had the mic, please don't put it there again!
She mentioned it in the beginning on a text ! It was an accident, the mic dislodged
I like your lippy today.🙂👄
Gut wrenching in the first 21 mins lmao ( Tabula Mundi and Lilifer) in all seriousness though I’m glad you learned a little from both of those
OH YAY!
