    I hope you are doing well these days and love yourself with a huge heart.If you get another assessment in the future, you can ask for it to be audio recorded, this should help in an honest & accurate report. I've got my assessment today, of course I'll fail, cos it's mental issues for me, which can't be seen. Anyway good luck for the future happiness of you & the planet.

      Thanks man! Really appreciate your support!
      How did your assessment go? I hope it went better than mine haha!
      I haven’t been assessed since then and to be honest I’m not really bothered about getting another one.
      I’ve come to learn that I’m not sure if I even want to have real diagnosis. I don’t think I want to be put in a box.
      I’ve learned to love my issues and the journeys they have taken me on. I’ve become a stronger person. I’ve realised that I’m not a victim, I’m a survivor.
      I don’t want to fit in with society because if you start fitting in you disappear into the background.
      Also if you get a real diagnoses your travel insurance sky rockets and I can’t be having that when I want to travel and see the word haha!
      Let me know how it went and if it wasn’t as you hoped don’t let it get you down.
      Everyone with mental health issues are super heroes. Everyday is a challenge but we are still here fighting the good fight.
      Peace and Love.
      Owen

      @@0wenarmstrong Thanks for the reply, I got kicked out of my assessment, (it was being recorded as I had requested) for apparently "obstructive behaviour" and so it was suspended and if it gets suspendedpended, the tape recording gets destroyed. Meaning, they make the allegation against me and destroy the evidence that proves my side of the story!! How bad are these people??? Anyway, I put in a FOI request for the tape so it didn't get destroyed and DWP will get back to me within a month.
      I found out the Centre manager had backed up what the "health professional" had said, which is amazing as she wasn't in the room as I was being "assessed" Blatant bias! So I included my local MP in the email I sent off to DWP and now I'm just waiting for the fallout to continue.
      I'm glad to hear you've been left alone so far, that's a relief for you and you're right to not want to just fit in, F**k that!
      Keep your chin up and look after yourself as only you know how, be your own change and be your own best.
      Best wishes to you in the future and enjoy being alive and wonderful!
      John

    I know! I was in addenbrookes 5 months last year with anorexia, & said everyday I knew needed to see my mental health carecordinator when I leave. & called her, most days. Then, one week when I was discharged, she came to see me. I told her about my anxiety, depression, suicidal plans. But she said ’no, we’ve decided to discharge you, cos we think the eating disorder was causing the problems in your mind & you've know been given the tools to cope’. Guess what. 7 months later, I'm still waiting to see someone (hubby shouted!). & I've relapsed on alcohol & anorexia at the same time

    He sweetie
    I know this process very well. I would firstly contact them to check there hasnt been a mishap. But keep persisting tell your dr that the assessment is wrobg and keep trying. Ask your medical centre if they have a doctor specialising in mental health

    Did they do a blood test or take a hair sample at the assessment?

    So do you have to like, exaggerate some of the questions so you keep your benefits? I've had to do that in the past but haven't been to an assessment in a while now so don't know if the criteria has changed

      Charlotte Morgan no I just told my truth. I Told them everything I’ve been through and what I’m currently going through. I was just desperate to get answers and the help I actually need.

      @@0wenarmstrong but it's okay for some people to exaggerate slightly?

    • @0wenarmstrong
      @0wenarmstrong  4 года назад

      Charlotte Morgan Well I cant really give advice on what people should do in an assessment because everyone is different. Just do what’s best for you. I would never lie about anything though. I think the best way to get the help you actually need is to just tell them what’s really going on in your life and how it’s affecting your everyday life. You just need to put yourself out there and tell them everything.

    Did you talk to some sort of "counsellor" who didn't keep these things confidential?

    You are not suffering with depression, and I shall tell you for why. Firstly you are too cleanly shaven, secondly your home looks too tidy, thirdly your clothes look too tidy. You suffer from low moods, which is not depression. I bet you eat, I bet you wash up the dishes. Real depression, is where you do not shave, you don't eat, you don't wash up dishes, or wash clothes,. Hell you do not even wash yourself. When you suffer from real depression, then come back.

      That is the worst statement I've ever heard, alot of people suffer with depression and just because they don't live like tramps doesn't mean they don't have it,some people shower 4-5 times a day and constantly clean there home ,don't judge others not everybody with depression lives like you!

    • @dcookoo
      @dcookoo 5 лет назад +10

      Very ignorant comment. Actually, cleaning can be a coping mechanism for people with depression and anxiety and helps you feel like you’ve achieved something. Also, taking a shower and shaving will make someone with depression feel better about themselves. It may take a while load a self motivation to even accomplish this.

      Depression is faceted. For example morbid or clinical depression. It is a terrible view that stigmatises those with mental health issues. Homes can be very smart tidy, appearance clean and dressed well. Dreadful point to make. You cannot see mental illness.
