Hopefully the Colombia:Ecuador border will open up soon and I can take another trip up there. I miss Manizales and I’d like my Ecuadorian wife to see the city.
Thanks for showing us this little slice of paradise. It's getting popular with the Expats. Please make more videos like this. I wish you'd shown the coffee ☕ culture since it is located in the coffee triangle 🔺️? Good work 👏 🙌
You’re welcome. Yeah, I really should have focused a bit more on coffee while I was there. I haven’t been making many videos lately because I’m on a military base in Africa and the last video I made here got me in some trouble. Fortunately, this job is done in a week and then I fly to Ecuador.
Reminds me of many of the cities in Ecuador and Colombia that are above 6000 ft, with lots of clouds, rain but beautiful scenery and climate when it's not raining.
You’re welcome. I’ve got a more in depth video uploading (slowly) right now. It’s part of my Expat City Pro & Con series. At the rate it’s uploading it’ll be live in about 24 hours.
Very good. Reminds me of all central and South America and how people walk through the rain. So typical. I've been caught in torrential down pours all over. I like the smell of smoke from firewood in the country side. It's called Lenya. Used for cooking. You see old ladies carrying this.
I think you’re talking about wax palms. I don’t remember seeing any, but I could have just missed them. I suspect they like a slightly higher elevation.
It is interesting ...... Your choice of places to visit..... For instance , .... When I travel to Los Angeles (USA) I never go to East Los Angeles.......(the most dangerous area of Los Angeles) For that fact ...... I never go to any dangerous area of any major city in the world.... Such as the drug infested areas of New York city.....
Well, the channel is Fall off the Map. When I visit a place I try to go to more than just the nice areas. You don’t really know a city until you walk through it’s poor neighborhoods and industrial areas. If I’m going to consider moving to Manizales I want to know the good and the bad. Also, I kind of lack a normal sense of self preservation.
Nice video. I like the ambient soundtrack, and also some of the ways you're playing with time. But the close up on the tram, your nose and eye-- did you get clocked or have an accident? Cuidado!
Joe Colletti and thanks. I “created” the music by cutting up a track from RUclips’s free music library, changing the tempo, reversing it, and running a couple effects on it.
I like it way better than Armenia. I found Armenia to be pretty sketchy in the downtown area. I haven’t been to Pereira so I can’t compare. For me, personally, it was my favorite part of Colombia. I also really like Popayán and Medellín, but Manizales just felt right. It was a little cooler climate, more safe, and had a more educated and intelligent vibe.
It is one of the safest cities in America, also has one of the highest life quality in the continent... It may not look like an USA Metropolis, but trust me, there's no one visiting unhappy :), btw this video is as it best a 5% of the city culture and entertainments.
Really? Why? You'd almost have to pay me to leave. This is the most livable city I've found in my travels since Busan S Korea. Life is easy and simple here. I love it.
david graszak actually it’s one of the safest cities in Colombia. It doesn’t look like other big cities in Colombia that have big malls and large streets and boulevards. This city is small, but livable.
That's My beautiful Manizales. Proud to be from there.🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Merci beaucoup !!!!
J’ai beaucoup aimé votre ville

Thank you for the video, it is my hometown, please come and visit us you wont be disappointed.
Do they have those palm trees that stand sharply vertical against steep slopes of the hills?
I think you’re talking about wax palms. I don’t remember seeing any, but I could have just missed them. I suspect they like a slightly higher elevation.
Yes:) nature do amaze us.

@@FallofftheMapManizales es una ciudad muy culta, de hecho es la ciudad universitaria de Colombia
Come back and have a beer
Medellín?
nice video bro, but do something about the hideous background music. thanks
What, you don’t enjoy techno from RUclips’s royalty free library played backwards at low speed? You sir, lack culture and taste.
No younger sister from Medellín, please.
I don’t see that place safe, very dangers where is a 5 stars hotel ?
