I agree with you when mentioned 2 things dat is important in the marriage is Character and the Deen. Is important if both worship in one God almighty the reasons is so that both follows the same responsibility or the routines of the daily life as a believer. Once when both have a solid foundation of good marriage of being conscious of God all mighty , then things will be easy in a marriage. Secondly, the character is very very important in a marriage. If one is faithful and honest in the marriage and the other is abusing,disrespect, unkind, pride then it causes problems. And the two will not get along together.
