This was fantastic! I have a ton of mismatched stuff in my closet and you’ve given me the inspiration to look at them differently! And if they don’t match get out a bottle of dye. Like you, I have a ton of white pants I don’t wear so why not dye them. Also I’ve begun hanging outfits together for ease of dressing and I’ve found that it encourages me to wear things I’ve overlooked. I think it would be great for you to do this type video every so often!

What inspiring outfits you have done for the summer, Traci! I am hoping for time in a few weeks to do the same. My sister became ill last fall and died in the winter. I miss her terribly. Before she left the hospital, though, we thought she would be going to a nursing home. I went out and got her nearly a dozen tees to wear for comfort. You need a lot of clothes in a nursing home because things can spend a week coming back from the laundry. This left me with a lot of colorful, unworn 4X tees to work with. I am looking forward to remaking them into skirts and shirts. For her memorial luncheon, I used your old, erased video ideas to put floral patches all over a pair of white gauze pants. I widened the legs by adding panels I cut from a cotton shirred- front floral shirt from my sister’s closet. Thanks for all of your videos sharing your creative ideas. I will be making lots of things from my sister’s clothing to honor her memory!

I'm so glad you decided to post this video! So inspiring! I have tons of clothes that I don't wear because there's something 'wrong'. Sometimes only a too tight elastic at the short sleeves, for example. I'm so inspired now to make some changes to many things. It's a sort of long term 'dream' to open the closet and take out ready to wear combinations that go well together and are comfortable and flattering. Now I'm older (in my fifties) I gained some weight and don't feel comfortable anymore in too tight things that are showing of too much and are unflattering. Thank you so much for (again) a wonderful video. You just make me happy and are so inspiring! 🤩💜💝

I did not consider applying my creativity to my clothes until now. You taught me that frayed edges are okay and that layers, patches and applique can make the most incredible artistic statements. Ive found in my 50's, cover ups and shirts make me feel more positive about myself, light breezy fabrics and blow in the breeze. Love all the lace and ruffles you've added to customise your outfits. Traci May I suggest you do a Q/A Video? You are an EXCELLENT instructor and provide very clear easy to follow instructions in ALL YOUR VIDEOS. Even so, I am CERTAIN your followers would have enough questions for you and your many creative/artistic processes it could easily fill up a video. I adore your style and am probably of the same generation as you, and was born and raised in Illinois. I took 2 years of Home Ec in junior high, dabbled in machine and embroidery sewing in the 90's. I sold my fancy Husqvarna on Ebay 15 yrs ago for about exactly what I paid for it! Because of YOU and your "don't sweat the happy accidents" attitude and informal approach I am inspired to try a few of your designs. I bought a $250 Brother sewing machine and am currently deciding which project I can successfully complete. (Flopping out of the gate will discourage me from attempting a 2nd project). But I, for one, not being an experienced sewer, have several simple questions for you. I just know others would as well. Perhaps making a compilation video would help even more of us Traci groupies to be successful in our attempts at upcycling garments. Here is a simple but important one for me. I watch your many projects that include appliques, and rarely see you use the iron on fusible webbing product that gives body to material. How do you know when to use this? My inexperience would have thought adding an applique cut from a cotton tshirt onto another Tshirt would have required using this, but you haven't that I have observed. In maintaining the soft cozy feel I am glad that you don't, but how do you know what material or situation requires using this? You are even detailed telling us the stitch, or needle type. These details give me the courage to TRY. Watching your videos, you feel like an old friend to me. That helps SO much when learning or trying something new. You did a wonderful job in making matching, cute, upcycled outfits for the summer. I love those shoes. My master closet is being redone (because of water damage from a leaking hot water heat). As the repairs are being made, I want to update my outfits and put the sets together in the finished closet. It would be wonderful not to have to worry about what goes best with what (before or after my shower) to wear when I go out to work, visit, or keep an appointment. That's a wonderful idea. I stumbled across your channel and have been binge watching your videos.. I am a mixed media artist and I am never happy with my wardrobe. I did not consider applying my creativity to my clothes until now. You taught me that frayed edges are okay and that layers, patches and applique can make the most incredible artistic statements. Traci May I suggest you do a Q/A Video? You are an EXCELLENT instructor and provide very clear easy to follow instructions in ALL YOUR VIDEOS.
Even so, I am CERTAIN your followers would have enough questions for you and your many creative/artistic processes it could easily fill up a video. I adore your style and am probably of the same generation as you, and was born and raised in Illinois.
I took 2 years of Home Ec in junior high, dabbled in machine and embroidery sewing in the 90's. I sold my fancy Husqvarna on Ebay 15 yrs ago for about exactly what I paid for it!
Because of YOU and your "don't sweat the happy accidents" attitude and informal approach I am inspired to try a few of your designs. I bought a $250 Brother sewing machine and am currently deciding which project I can successfully complete. (Flopping out of the gate will discourage me from attempting a 2nd project).
But I, for one, not being an experienced sewer, have several simple questions for you. I just know others would as well.
Perhaps making a compilation video would help even more of us Traci groupies to be successful in our attempts at upcycling garments. Here is a simple but important one for me. I watch your many projects that include appliques, and rarely see you use the iron on fusible webbing product that gives body to material. How do you know when to use this?
My inexperience would have thought adding an applique cut from a cotton tshirt onto another Tshirt would have required using this, but you haven't that I have observed. In maintaining the soft cozy feel I am glad that you don't, but how do you know what material or situation requires using this?
You are even detailed telling us the stitch, or needle type. These details give me the courage to TRY.
Watching your videos, you feel like an old friend to me. That helps SO much when learning or trying something new.

You did a wonderful job in making matching, cute, upcycled outfits for the summer. I love those shoes. My master closet is being redone (because of water damage from a leaking hot water heat). As the repairs are being made, I want to update my outfits and put the sets together in the finished closet. It would be wonderful not to have to worry about what goes best with what (before or after my shower) to wear when I go out to work, visit, or keep an appointment. That's a wonderful idea. I have several blouses and pants that I have never worn. It is past time to do something with them. Thank you.
