    Some really great pairings in here! Loved it on the Chris. Ward and the Hammy. And yeah, surprisingly good on the Second Hour. Didn't realize they're doing a 21mm version, that's really tempting to pick up.

      @@RelativeTime Same! But they also have 19mm, and I have a Yema GMT and a Seiko Alpinist that both could use one of those...

    For 300 you can buy a really decent pair of boots👢
    Thanks Shane for making a video of a watch strap interesting.

    Thanks for the review. I recently purchased my first one from a company out of California. It's thin but the comfort level is unbelievable. I'll have to see how it holds up over time.

    Yeah I’d like to see a 6 month or so down the line video, horween straps can be upwards of £160 in the UK which right now is just under $210 and thats before shipping so these might be a good option for people looking for a good quality strap, if they pass the test of time

    Just got one of these in burgundy! Gorgeous, threw it on my red Kamasu and it might be the most comfortable wearing experience I’ve had on a leather strap.

    Are they as good as Vaer's Horween leather straps? Vaer's are the nicest I've come across, and these are more expensive, so I am curious. Great vid Shane, as always.

    • @RelativeTime
      @RelativeTime  2 года назад +5

      Vaer is great, but I'd say these are better. Although a lot of that comes down to the materials. I think Vaer is Top Grade Calfskin, and these are Shell Cordovan. So these will be thinner, more durable and a more flexable from the get go.
      That said. I think the less aggresive taper and beefer buckle on the Vaer, might make them look better on some watches. Especially a diver.

    • @ScoobieDoobie197474

    • @RelativeTime
      @RelativeTime  2 года назад

      @@ScoobieDoobie197474 I think so. They make them for their watches, and I don't think they have a 22mm.

    Good look on the Pathfinder, Shane. Recently I was quoted $200+ for a stingray leather strap, so these seem quite reasonable 8-o
    It would be nice to have an option for matching stitches (contrast doesn't always work), but you match the watch to the strap.

  • @larrydalton2205

    Shane, always great reviews. The strap looks good on the Hamilton but I couldn't tell from the pics if the strap looks thick enough due to the leather fold over at the end to match the thickness of the Hamilton lugs. I've had to pair my Hamilton with padded straps to not look too thin.

    Hi Shane. Each strap on the market comes with a number of holes already punched. Usually a strap comes with at least 7 or 8 holes and sometimes even as much as 11. Nobody needs that. I make my straps myself, so I can punch one hole at the exact spot were I want it. If only watch straps could be ordered without the holes or with the number of holes the buyer wants.

    • @RelativeTime
      @RelativeTime  2 года назад

      So far I haven't seen anyone that does that. It would be intersting. These only come with 5 holes, and I think they place them according to what wrist size you tell them.

    I bought both the black and brown versions and so far they just come across as plasticky. Only bought them around a month ago and one is already falling to pieces.
    That said they are really shell cordovan and they have excellent customer service.

    i have the same Khaki King you have.. I can't decide between the black, and cognac. Any input? I'm leaning towards the black strap, but without seeing the two paired together, its making the decision tough. Even a subjective opinion would help

    • @RelativeTime
      @RelativeTime  Год назад +1

      With the Khaki King, I've always liked darker brown straps over black. I think it pairs better with the dial. I think the champagne color compliments the brown over completely contrasts with a black strap.
      Although a friend recently showed me theirs on a darker green ostrich strap that also looked really good.

      I picked up the 63 a while ago. I like it a lot. I love the clean look of the white dial but in retrospect should have gotten the black. My middle aged ( well old really) eyes need a litter better contrast. Sometimes it’s a little difficult to tell the time at a glance.

      Understandable, they can be a little slow. Which is why I always try to put the straps on a number of different watches. That way people get a variety of things to look at.
