  • Another great guitar from Guild -- this is the D240E limited edition with the flamed mahogany arched back. Superb electronics too...

I bought one of these last year. Had to do some minor work on it. Put bone pins in bridge. Straightened the neck to lower action. Fret ends needed to be smoothed off. Now it's a great sounding/playing guitar.

Good quality open tuners are my favorites.

hi I have ordered both D240E and OM 240CE.I was playing Taylor gs mini as my first guitar.
Found OM 240 CE slightly more convenient to play.
On D240E ,getting slightly more bass, able to play barre chords despite its size, takes little time to get used to.
Not sure which one to keep!

Yes - I oscillate between Dreadnoughts and OM/000 guitars for the same reasons. Dreads give you projection and bottom end - but the smaller body guitars give you articulation and precision. Keep both!

Mine is excellent to play with nails and about $350 new with nice padded case and electronics. It is nearly identical to the basic Rey from Orangewood for $135 delivered. The Guild is a lot more guitar and better outfitted, plus a retailer must make a profit. The Rey is a basic cutaway with a cheaper case and tuners and no electronics. But cheap is good and the guitar is nice.

Sounds like forward x bracing going by that bass response. Nice guitars Guild. Would have trouble letting that go out. I would very much like to keep them all but that does not make for a good business model.

Yeah - thought about keeping it too - but don't need another dread. I listed it yesterday and it sold within 2 hours.

Aren't the flame sides and back a veneer?
