I am so excited for this game. The best part of Ryza 3 was the improvements to exploration. The mechanics were great, but the rewards were very lacking in that game. So far this looks like Gust is taking another shot at it. Literally this time. :)
this is going to be Ateliers Xenoblade 3 for sure. Character designs at an all time high, and ill probably get sucked into crafting just off of how it looks. Seemless exploring, Jet Heels, Gunstaff... excellent. Looks a lot more story based also. Alchemy being evil adds a kick of flavor into the game. Being able to customize your atelier from scratch just adds a new layer of depth to the game. Along with the FF/Ryza 3 like battle system its an instant purchase. Gott hooked after atelier ryza trilogy, and this game actually looks like itll be worth the whole $70😅😅😂
My excitement for this one is through the roof! I feel like the team is really going out of their way to do something really unprecedented with the series
Very happy about the game reveal. It seems like a natural evolution of the series. The characters seem interesting so far. The story is more personal compared to Ryza too which I like. Its great that its finally on xBox too, hopefully more people give the series a chance.
Ayla looks great, reminds me of Chixia in Wuthering Waves. I'm still kinda sad it appears there won't be an English dub tho. But the gameplay might get me more invested than Ryza.
Thank you so much for this excellent preview on Atelier Yumia. I'm so excited to finally get a new console Atelier since Ryza 3. Love Yumia's design and the quality of life features added to this new title. Also great to see the Atelier series finally come to Xbox. Hopefully they later decide to port the older titles (or at least the Mystery trilogy) to xbox too. That would give me another reason to replay those games again. lol
I like turn based combat a bit more, but at the other hand I also enjoyed the combat in Ryza and Blue Reflection 2. Even the Falcom Trails games went for a mixture of real time and turn based in Trails Through Daybreak. Of course the Ys games where always real time, so that's maybe the reason I could enjoy the Ryza games and will enjoy this upcoming game... The only thing I am really a bit sad about, is that Yumia seems to not longer seems to use a cauldron for her alchemy. That cauldron has been a tradition in all Atelier games until now, but now it's gone. It all seems more... Mechanically maybe? We certainly need more information about that. I guess that is something we have to get used to. Another thing (and that's more a personal thing) is that Yumia seems to use a rifle-staff. I love to play the Atelier games with a Xbox One controller on the PC, but I am really not that good with aiming using a control stick. That's the reason I use M+KB for FPS games. Let's see how this will turn out though. Maybe there is some kind of lock-on or something.
I see a lot of Blue Reflection 2 in this new Atelier and thats a huge plus for me, but I'm not a huge fan of the new combat, I really loved the turn based from the previous games (one of my favorites in fact).
I always found the Ryza series' alchemy system to be suuuper frustrating, so im looking forward to this one. And bless be, also happy to hear of a new combat system 🙏
Thank you so much for this breakdown. I'm really excited to play this. Personally I want the fusing of Traits to come back, like what it was in the older games. How the Ryza games handled Traits did my head in, that and I'm hoping to see the Switch version to run better then what was present in Ryza 3. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I'm looking forward to finding out how this darker story will unfold and how in-depth the base building might turn out. Such as if a party member likes a certain item such as a vase and by placing that into the base they get a small bonus during combat.
they didn't say anything about the engine... but from so much from the gameplay I see it doesn't seem to me to be the Katana Engine.. but it reminds me a lot of Unreal Engine (precisely the 4 since it is multiplatform PS4 / PS5 XONE / Series X / S and PC) so if it is really UE4 ... You can expect performance similar to Sword Art Online Fatal Bullet on Switch... I get it for pc for sure my girlfriend will take it on Switch to play in the bed
Its should be OK... Considering its a newer game, maybe it will run like Ryza 3 on the Switch. Highly likely Yumia will get a release on the Switch 2 (or whatever its called).
Very exited to play this game❤ any ideas when preorders will be available? For atelier Yumia? Or if there will be a special edition available Additionally I’d be thrilled if this game finally gives us the option to change the subtitle size or color 🎉 as it’s down right difficult at times to read the subtitles sometimes in these games with the default smal white subtitles 😓
Never played this series, always prefer a dark story and the cutesy/coming of age type vibe of ryza put me off even though i seen people rave about the series. This darker tone and full metal alchemist civilisation being philosopher stone nuked seems interesting as. Characters seem awesome and def love what i saw from the reveal. Think this will be my jumping on point 🫡
I commented about the combat in your previous video about yumia and i still think my opinions are the same for the most part but its primarily because all of these traditional turn based rpgs are abandoning their combat for either bland action combat or really in depth combat. The problem with atelier is that they can already have a complex system with the alchemy depending on how they make it work for each game, so it doesnt need more complicated action combat systems when the turn based work just fine imo. I dont hate it, but i finally thought of a half way decent way to explain my opinion on the combat. Im gonna give ryza another shot to see if i can maybe get into the more action heavy combat of atelier so i can hopefully enjoy yumia because i will be getting it. My only other complaint is no english dub (which with how well the ryza series did, they can definitely afford a dub lol but i know it probably wont happen)
@@jaydenmoon1165 Happy to help out, here's hoping you can find 2 later down the line. Possibly in good condition second hand at your local game retailers.
Shes already my preferred protagonist on the entire franchise. More mature and more....beautiful. And a FF12 inspired battle system? So its perfection!
I'm still curious what is the orb thingy on top of the health bar. Is it burst gauge? But if it's burst gauge, what is the meter at the left side of the screen? Maybe there are going two be 2 burst attacks, individual and full party?
The orb thing on top of the health bar seems to be specifically for Yumia so it’s probably something to do with her weapon. When the gameplay switched to the other party member, the gauge disappeared so that’s my guess 🤔
I was excited about Ryza 3 but I dropped out after a 20 hours or so, the scale of the world was unnecessary, in my opinion. I hope this game will handle passing better.
It looks great and a further continuation of their work from the Ryza games. But I'll have to skip it if the text size can't be adjusted again. Ryza 3 was unplayable for me because of the tiny font and this game seems to have the same issue.
I really love the Atelier series so its a little sad for me they're going to action combat. As someone with damaged hands action games don't work out very well. Ryza and Sohpie were fine for my hands because all you had to do was be able to navigate a simple menu. Well, just like Final Fantasy, I won't complain too loud and just let the new audience enjoy it. At least Persona will never betray me 😂
Doesn't look like an ARPG to me, more like a punchy active time battle like the Ryza trilogy. For menit'snthe best of both worlds. Still, I miss the more childish main character design that the protagonists had before Ryza, I get that "thick" was a meme at some point but I loved the candide nature of the series design and story. Not everything has to be "mature"
@@MrValgard oh definitely. I enjoy it, on like a second playthrough. But its easier in english since they explain things verbally a lot of the time. Im almost forty, and my brain is too tired to read everything all the time lol. Sadly its why i still havent finished ryza 2 or 3. The systems got too much. If they had english dub things might have clicked better. Though to be fair atelier faris was dubbed.... And i havent finished it either... Faris was whiney
I’d Really appreciate the options to change the subtitle colors or size honesty. As their are times in these games were it’s really difficult for me to read the subtitles 😩 or I just need to get better and my Japanese comprehension

It's awe-inspiring seeing how the devs become more ambitious with each new game. I am a newer Atelier player (thanks, Alex!) currently on Sophie 2.
I subscribed just cuz you're the only one to analyze this game on utube
I hope you feel better soon.
